Islamic-Christian Committee warns of Israel's attempt to seize Al-Aqsa

Islamic-Christian Committee for Support of Jerusalem and holy sites warned on Sunday of the intention of Israeli Ministry of Religious Affairs to put forward a series of legal amendments enabling settlers to perform rituals in Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Committee considered that such steps and procedures represent clear and explicit infringement against Al-Aqsa Mosque and aim to divide it, in preparation for its demolition and the construction of the alleged temple on its ruins.
It condemned the ongoing raids in Al-Aqsa courtyards, the persistent violations of the occupation government, and the international silence regarding these violations.
For his part, Secretary-General of the Committee Dr. Hanna Issa pointed to the Israeli army's intention to create a military college on the lands of Jabel Mukaber in occupied East Jerusalem, and said this scheme is designed to impose Israel's control over Al-Aqsa Mosque.
The Islamic-Christian Committee called on all those able to reach Al-Aqsa Mosque to intensify their presence in its courtyards; in order to deter the occupation and thwart its plans.
It also appealed to the international community's states, institutions and organizations to intervene and put an end to the occupation and the settlers' violations in the Mosque, stressing that the occupation forces have surpassed all red lines and have violated all international laws and norms

Settlers' attacks continue in al-Khalil

Israeli settlers have damaged on Monday vineyards belonging to Palestinian residents in Beit Ummar north of al-Khalil.
A group of settlers from Karme Tzur settlement to the south of the al-Khalil district town of Beit Ummar sprayed toxic substances on the town’s vineyards. Numerous vines were damaged, local sources confirmed to the PIC.
It should be noted that the vineyards of Beit Ummar have been subject to such attacks several times in an attempt to annex the area to Karme Tzur.
Meanwhile, the IOF continued to close the iron gate of the Israeli barrier in the industrial area south of al-Khalil for the fourth consecutive day.
Local sources confirmed that the Israeli soldier deployed in the area detained Palestinian vehicles for long hours and checked the drivers' identities before allowing them to pass to Yatta town or forcing them to return.
The IOF closed the barrier following the killing of an Israeli armed settler south of Nablus 4 days ago.

Israeli settlers establish new settlement outpost

The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) allowed Israeli settlers to renovate an Israeli military abandoned base in Gush Etzion built on Palestinian lands in Bethlehem as a prelude to establish a new outpost, Hebrew media sources revealed.
The abandoned military base, located on a hilltop about half a kilometer from the Palestinian village of Beit Sahur in the Bethlehem district, was an army base during the British Mandate period. The base was transferred to Jordanian control and later to the IOF during the Palestinian second upraising before being abandoned in 2006, the Hebrew newspaper Haaretz stated on Monday.
The newspaper pointed out that the Palestinians sought to build a hospital on the base after being abandoned, but the Israeli settlers intervened to confiscate it in order to set up a new settlement.
After settlers' continued pressures since 2010, Israeli officials have allowed settlers to renovate buildings on the abandoned West Bank army base, Haaretz added.
The settlers have started renovating the buildings, while the Israeli soldiers prevented Palestinians from accessing to the site.
The base was abandoned several years ago which means that the Israeli army is no longer in need for it, however what has happened recently confirms that the Israeli army only serves settlers' interests, the newspaper quoted a settlement expert in the Israeli human rights group Yesh Din as saying.

Jewish settlers defile Sheikh Abu Sam'aan Mosque in Qalqiliya

The settlers built a fake tomb inside the Mosque
A group of extremist Jewish settlers desecrated the historical Mosque of Sheikh Abu Sam'aan in Qalqiliya city and built a fake tomb inside it, according to the Aqsa foundation for endowment and heritage on Sunday.
The foundation also said that the settlers spray-painted Hebrew slogans on the exterior walls of the Mosque and left candles they used for their rituals, warning that the settlers want to turn the Mosque into a synagogue.
It also said that such violation was part of the ongoing Jewish attempts to obliterate the Islamic holy sites and claim them as part of the fabricated Hebrew heritage in Palestine, stressing that the Mosque of Sheikh Sam'aan is a purely Islamic holy place.
