MP Mona Mansour: Palestinian women are daily subjected to Israeli racist attacks

Palestinian Legislative Council member Mona Mansour has described the Israeli women attack on a Jerusalemite girl several days ago at a train station in occupied Jerusalem as a racist and barbaric attack.
The attack was an Israeli crime that proves the Israeli violations of the Palestinian women's rights guaranteed by all international charters and treaties, MP Mansour said commenting on the attack.
The Israeli women’s attack on Palestinian women in Jerusalem and elsewhere was not the first of its kind, where many attacks had taken place at checkpoints and in the city of al-Khalil and many other places, she explained.
MP Mansour expressed her surprise towards the continued silence of international organizations, especially those claiming to defend women's rights, however they turn a blind eye to the Israeli daily attacks on Palestinian women.
MP Mansour called on international institutions and organizations that advocate women's freedom and dignity and the free world to intervene to defend the Palestinian women who are daily subjected to the occupation inhuman practices in the occupied Palestinian territories.
She also called for condemning and prosecuting the Israeli crimes against Palestinian women.

Jewish settlers escalate attacks south of Jenin

Jewish settlers escalated provocations and attacks on villages south of Jenin on Wednesday night and blocked streets leading to Yabad village. Local sources said that settlers from Dothan settlement burnt tires on the road leading to Yabad village near Dothan roadblock and tried to assault Palestinian vehicles.
They said that Israeli soldiers manning the barrier closed it before traffic creating congestions on nearby roads.
Citizens said that the settlers chanted anti-Arab slogans one of which was “Death to the Arabs”.

Fundamentalist Jewish Women Attack Palestinian Woman In Jerusalem

A Palestinian woman from occupied Jerusalem was attacked, on Monday afternoon, by a number of extremist Jewish women who tried to remove her hijab, as she was waiting at the Train Station in Jerusalem.
Israeli Hebrew-language daily, Maariv, published pictures of the women as they assaulted the Arab woman and tried to remove her hijab covering her hair.
The attack took place at the light rail station in Kiryat Moshe in Jerusalem, the Arab woman tried to defend herself, but the Israeli women kept attacking her and managed to remove her veil.
Maariv said that an ultra-Orthodox Jewish woman walked by the Palestinian woman and punched her, before some of her friends participated in the attack, and started beating the woman. Eyewitnesses took pictures the attack.
Maariv also reported that, after it published the news about the attack, the Israeli Police opened an investigation into the issue.
Dorit Dotan, an Israeli peace activist who witnessed the attack, stated that a security officer working for the Jerusalem Municipality just watched the assault and smiled.

AFEH: 100 settlers stormed Aqsa, IOF nabbed protestors

Around one hundred Jewish settlers broke into and desecrated the Aqsa mosque in occupied Jerusalem on Monday in two groups.
The Aqsa Foundation for Endowment and Heritage said in a statement on Tuesday that half of those settlers toured the holy site in the morning and the other half after the noon prayers.
It said that the settlers stormed the mosque under heavy security, adding that hundreds others reveled in the Buraq plaza in line with their festivals in which they called for breaking into the Aqsa.
AFEH warned that the Israeli occupation authorities were trying to empty the Aqsa mosque from worshipers especially the youth using various terrorizing means.
The foundation said that Jerusalemites and Palestinians of the 1948 occupied land would continue to flock to the holy site to defend it in face of desecration and storming attempts despite all restrictions.
The Israeli occupation forces, meanwhile, rounded up a number of Jerusalemite youths after severely beating them in the wake of protests against the settlers’ desecration of the Aqsa mosque.

Settlers attack Palestinian citizen and cause him serious injuries

Around 15 Jewish extremists attacked on Sunday morning a 37-year-old Palestinian cleaner in Tel Aviv, Palestinian sources reported.
The group of extremists hit Hassan Ausruf, from the city of Yafa in the center of the Palestinian 1948-occupied territories, with bottles on his head and all over his body while he was working in the Yarkon Street in the city of Tel Rabia (Tel Aviv), and then fled.
Ausruf's wife said that when her husband asked the settlers why they were attacking him, they told him 'because you're an Arab'.
"They attacked him with whatever they could get their hands on, bottles and shards of glass and they inflicted serious wounds to his head and in one of his eyes," she added.
Medical sources added that Ausruf was treated at Wolfson Medical Center for skull fractures and serious injury in his left eye and that he underwent a surgery in the head.

Jewish settlers hacked 45 Palestinian olive trees in Beit Uwa village, west of Al-Khalil, on Sunday night, local sources said.
Eyewitnesses said that the settles also damaged scores of grape trees in the same area called Jurat Mishaal, west of Beit Uwa.
Farmers in the area have asked for protection for their fields in face of the repeated settlers’ attacks.

Dozens of Jewish settlers attacked Palestinian homes in Qasra village, south of Nablus, afternoon Saturday and destroyed olive trees.
Ghassan Daghlas, in charge of monitoring settlement activity north of the West Bank, said that the settlers came from the nearby Aish Kodesh settlement outpost.
He said that the settlers threw stones at Palestinian homes in the eastern areas of the village, adding that the settlers also destroyed dozens of olive trees in the same area.

AFEH said in a statement on Saturday that it expected intensification in Jewish storming of the holy site within the few coming days and weeks.
Hebrew media published calls for breaking into the Aqsa mosque at the early morning hours of Monday morning.
AFEH, for its part, noted that a number of Jewish organizations have called for escalating the storming of the Aqsa in an attempt accelerate the building of the alleged temple.
The foundation recalled that a growing number of Israeli soldiers in uniform were storming the holy site in addition to elements of the Israeli intelligence.
The foundation urged Jerusalemites and all Palestinians capable of reaching the Aqsa to do so at all times especially at the early morning hours which the Jewish settlers deliberately choose to break into the holy site.

Israeli settlers attack Qusra village
Following a violent incursion by Israeli fundamentalist settlers into Qusra, two people have been hospitalized with serious injuries. Around 15 settlers from Esh Kodesh (Holy Fire) and Shilo entered Qusra, the clashes that ensued left many people injured, including a sixteen year old boy who is currently in surgery and may lose his left eye as well as a 26 year old man fighting for his life after being shot in the chest, by an Israeli settler. At around 11am this morning settlers began attacking the village of Qusra. Armed with rifles, they attacked homes on the outskirts of Qusra, throwing stones they broke windows. The youths of the village attempted to defend their homes. In the clashes that ensued Helmi Abdul Azeez Hassan was shot by a settler, the bullet narrowly missed his heart. |
Soldiers arrived on the scene and, as usual, protected the invading settlers. Clashes then continued for the remainder of the day with the Israeli military firing rubber coated steel bullets and tear gas directly at local residents. A sixteen year old boy, Osama Rami Hassan, was shot with a rubber coated steel bullet in the forehead that narrowly missed his eye. He is currently undergoing surgery at Rafidia hospital in the attempt to save it, however the prognosis is not good.
Helmi’s situation is critical; he is currently at Rafidia Hospital in Nablus fighting for his life. Doctors hope he will stabilize through the night so he can be transferred to an Israeli hospital where he can receive a higher quality of care.
A local resident explained to ISM volunteers that he cannot remember a week in which Qusra had not been attacked over the last two years. He went on to say that recently things have been getting progressively worse. Today’s assault is the culmination of events which have been evolving all week. Jewish settlers, studying at a religious school in Kiryat Arba to the east of Al-Khalil, attacked Palestinian homes in Wadi Nasara suburb in Al-Khalil on Saturday morning.
Inhabitants said that groups of Jewish students, walking from Kiryat Arba to the Ibrahimi mosque, threw stones and empty bottles at Palestinian homes injuring 14-year-old child Saadi Jaber.
They said that Saadi was taken to Al-Khalil government hospital with moderate injuries.
Confrontations were reported after the incident between young Palestinian men and those settlers along with Israeli occupation forces, they said, adding that IOF soldiers chased Palestinian youths in the nearby alleys and cordoned off the area.

Abdul Karim Hussein, the mayor of Salem village, said in a press release that the settlers had previously installed two mobile homes on the mountain of Ras Hazem.
He added that on Friday morning there were ten such mobile homes in an apparent attempt to set up a new settlement outpost.
Hussein said that Israeli bulldozers were leveling land in the vicinity of those caravans ruining olive trees in the process.
He said that the 400-dunum area of the mountain is owned by citizens in Salem village, who have documents to prove their ownership of the land.
The mayor said that settlers usually occupy a portion of Palestinian land to set up an outpost that steadily grows at the expense of nearby citizens’ land.

Settlers burn 6 vehicles in Nablus

Israeli settlers continued their attacks in different areas of the West Bank, where they attacked, after midnight, Palestinian houses and vehicles in the village of Kasra south of the city of Nablus, causing panic among the citizens.
Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian official in charge of settlements file in the northern part of the West Bank, confirmed that dozens of settlers from Yash Codich settlement adjacent to the village attacked the village amid intensive shooting, where they set fire to six vehicles owned by the villagers, leading to the outbreak of clashes between the two sides.
The village's residents have confronted the settlers and forced them to leave the village, before the coming of a large force of the occupation army to the village, Daghlas explained.
Clashes broke out on Wednesday in the village between the citizens and the occupation forces, injuring eight civilians, while the Israeli army claimed that two soldiers were injured.

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) arrested a Palestinian youth at the Container roadblock, to the north east of Bethlehem, at dawn Thursday. Eyewitnesses said the soldiers stopped a car at the checkpoint and ordered all commuters to get out of it and checked their IDs before detaining one of them.
The witnesses identified the young man as Ali Hamamre, 25, from Husan village, west of Bethlehem.
In another incident in the same province, IOF soldiers served a notice to a family in Wadi Rahal, south of Bethlehem, ordering them not to farm their land.
Local sources said that a group of Jewish settlers accompanied the soldiers while delivering the notice to Abda family.
They said that the IOF soldiers unleashed wild dogs at the family members and threatened them not to approach their land, which, the soldiers said, were confiscated for “military purposes”.

The settlers also broke the camera of a B’Tselem volunteer cameraman as he was documenting their attack.
The latest attacks are part of ongoing violations carried out by extremist settlers against the Palestinians and their property in different parts of the occupied West Bank.
Environmental disaster threatens residents of Nablus because of settlers' waste

Dozens of trucks emptied their cargo of the settlers' waste in an abandoned landfill, located on the lands of the villages of Deir Sharaf and Qusin, west of the city of Nablus.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that more than 30 Israeli trucks were seen emptying tons of wastes from the settlements nearby, including industrial waste, which threatens a possible environmental and health disaster.
The landfill is located only a few hundred meters from the villages' houses, and less than 100 meters from two artesian wells that supply the city of Nablus and the western villages with drinking water.
The Israeli authorities had announced the establishment of the landfill in the place about 3 years ago, which had caused the outbreak of clashes and Palestinian protests that had forced the occupation to stop works in the landfill.
Jamal al-Baz, member of Qusin village council, said that the Israeli trucks have continued dumping waste at the site. He pointed out that the occupation claimed that the landfill is located in an industrial area belonging to Qadumim settlement, and that the Israeli court has approved the resumption of works in the landfill.
