Israeli plan to protect Jewish settlers in J’lem
Picture
Head of the Israeli municipal council in occupied Jerusalem Nir Barkat intends to execute a new security plan to provide security and protection for Jewish individuals, Israel's channel 2 revealed.

The PIC reporter in Jerusalem described the plan as racist, affirming that it ignores the safety of Jerusalemite natives who are exposed to systematic daily attacks by Israeli settlers and policemen.

The plan, which will be launched as of Sunday, includes the deployment of dozens of police patrol cars across the holy city and armed security guards near Jewish institutions as well as some surveillance balloons around the city.

Armed Settler Invades Schoolyard in Hebron
Picture
Wednesday, at approximately 11:00 in al-Khalil (Hebron) a settler from a nearby illegal settlement approached the Qurtuba school in H2 with a gun [H2 is the area of Hebron under Israeli military civil and security control].

The settler entered the school grounds, terrifying the children with his loaded gun. After some time the settler left but the children were forced to evacuate a building and move to another area of the school. The teachers asked for international presence until school was finished that day.

The children were rushed out of school early and internationals and Palestinians stood at a prominent place to ensure the children were safe. Not long after this, a settler attacked a Palestinian and threatened another. The settler threatened to stab a 16-year-old boy and another local Palestinian who tried to film the incident. 40-year-old Jawad Abu Aisha stated, “The settler told Awne (the 16-year-old) that he would bring a knife to stab him. Awne told me and I tried to tell the soldier so he would do something but he did not do anything. When I tried to film the settler he attacked me and tried to break my mobile but did not manage to do so.”

Eventually, and after much prompting by the Palestinians, the soldier stepped in and pulled the settler away. Both Palestinians were left badly shaken by the attack.

Picture
The "great" terrorist settler Lieberman

The Israeli security forces arrested a few months ago three  Palestinians from the occupied West Bank on charges of planning to assassinate Israeli foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman in response to the war on Gaza, the Jerusalem Post newspaper said Thursday.

The Palestinians were charged with planning to buy a rocket-propelled grenade launcher to blow up the motorcade of foreign minister Avigdor Lieberman.

The three men, Ibrahim el-Zir, Ziad el-Zir and Anans Bek, all from Harmala in the West Bank, allegedly decided to assassinate the foreign minister in mid-August to try to stop Operation Protective Edge, according to the newspaper.

The cell was arrested in mid-August, against the background of Ibrahim el-Zir allegedly trying to purchase the RPG and gather information on Lieberman's travel time.

The three men were charged with conspiracy to commit murder as opposed to attempted murder, since they were arrested before they could get closer to the execution of the plan.

The sources said the infant, Hanan Dar Mousa, was moved to a local hospital in Ramallah, suffering a moderate injury.

Israel Eases Gun Control for Civilians, Imposes Blockades and Curfews in Arab Neighborhoods
Picture
Israeli public security minister, Yitzhak Aharonovitch, has approved to ease the rules for private bearing of arms for Israeli citizens, under a pretext of defense against 'terror attacks', according to Haaretz. Meanwhile, curfews and blockades have been imposed in a number of Arab neighborhoods in the Jerusalem area.

PNN reports that Aharonovich promised Israelis that he would prepare the official documents which would ease their permits to bear arms "in the wake of terror attacks".

The licensing will also let security guards in Israeli-occupied lands keep their arms with them past work hours.

The official also promised an extension for Israeli agricultural communites, and Israeli citizens licensed to carry a firearm. In addition, all military officers will be allowed to posses arms, under the approval of their leaders.

Israeli occupation forces, early Thursday morning, also placed concrete blocks at the entrances and exists of the villages of Sur Baher, Ras Al-Amud, Jabal Al-Mukabber, Um Tur, and East Jerusalem, leaving out one exit that leads to the road near Jabal Abu Ghneim, near Bethlehem.

Palestinians of Jerusalem told the PNN that Israeli forces blocked all the entrances and exists with concrete blocks, imposing curfew on Arab citizens, breaking all international and humanitarian laws.

The main roads to the Palestinian neighborhoods in the Jerusalem district were reported to have been completely blockaded, except for one on which Palestinians are closely searched, cars stopped, ID's inspected and security tightened.

The actions in Jerusalem caused traffic jams for hundreds of Palestinians who had only one road to travel to their jobs and schools.

Witnesses assure that these actions are consisten with Israeli apartheid policies and collective punishments against Palestinians in the city, in addition to the escalating tension over the past months.

Citizens have demanded human rights organizations and international associations to intervene in exposing Israel's racist crimes against Palestinians in Jerusalem.

Violent clashes in Nablus during settlers' visit to Joseph's tomb
Picture
Violent clashes broke out at dawn Thursday in the eastern areas of Nablus city after scores of Jewish settlers escorted by soldiers visited in groups the mausoleum of Joseph's tomb.

The Israeli occupation forces intensified their presence in the areas surrounding the mausoleum and established makeshift checkpoints to secure the movement of the settlers during the clashes.

The young men threw stones at the soldiers who responded by randomly firing tear gas grenades.

Groups of settlers visit the area of Joseph's tomb on a weekly basis at the pretext that it is a religious Jewish site belonging to Prophet Joseph (Yousuf in Arabic), but the grave, in fact, belongs to a Palestinian figure called Yousuf Dweikat.

The IOF also stormed other eastern areas in Nablus amid intensive gunfire. Some tear gas canisters fell onto homes and caused many residents to suffer from gas inhalation.

Eyewitnesses told the Palestinian information center (PIC) that at least three Palestinian young men suffered injuries during confrontations with Israeli soldiers in Askar refugee camp and near the industrial high school of Nablus.

Picture

Eyewitnesses reported that Israeli forces tightened this morning military restrictions at the gates to al-Aqsa Mosque and confiscated the Palestinian worshipers’ identity cards before their entry.

Ongoing unrest, triggered by Jewish encroachment at the Islamic sacred site where al-Aqsa Mosque stands, prompted Nur a-Din Hashiya, from the Askar refugee camp in Nablus, to stab an Israeli soldier on November 10.

Nur a-Din Hashiya was taken at dawn Wednesday to the attack scene for a show-up identification.

During the field show-up, the detainee admitted that he carried out the knife attack for the sake of Allah and in response to the serious Israeli violations in al-Aqsa Mosque.

"I came willingly for Allah's sake and in revenge for al-Aqsa Mosque".

An Israeli soldier, identified as Almog Shilony, was killed in the attack near the Haganah train station in south Tel Aviv after he had sustained numerous stab wounds.

For his part, Hashiya suffered bruises and slight injuries after being beaten and attacked by passersby.

Settlers Attack Village Near Nablus; Residents Briefly Detained Two
Picture
A number of extremist Israeli settlers invaded, Thursday, the village of Qusra, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, and attacked property before local villagers chased them, and briefly detained two.

Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian official in charge of Israeli Settlements file in northern West Bank, said the settlers came from Yesh Kodesh illegal settlement, south of the village.

Daghlas added that local youths surrounded the invading settlers, and held two of them for more than 30 minutes, before the Palestinian District Coordination office intervened, and handed them to the Israeli side.

The official further stated that clashes took place in the village after several Israeli military vehicles invaded it, and handed the residents military orders to demolish six water wells.

Foreign ministry holds Israeli gov't, Knesset responsible for J'lem events
Picture
The Palestinian ministry of foreign affairs held the Israeli government and the extreme right in the Knesset fully responsible for what it said "the very grave escalation of the situation in occupied Jerusalem".

"The occupation government is waging a war against Jerusalem and the [Islamic] holy sites in order to Judaize them and separate them from their Palestinian surrounding," the ministry stated in a press release on Wednesday.

The ministry highlighted that the ugly killing of 16-year-old Mohamed Abu Khudair by burning him alive at the hands of Jewish settlers was a serious turning point in this escalation.

"What has strongly contributed to inflaming the situation is also the racist bills that have been adopted and proposed by leaders of the extreme right wing in Israel in order to perpetuate the occupation and change the nature of the conflict," the ministry added.

"The Israeli government's denial of the Palestinian people's rights and its intentional frustration of every chance to engage in serious talks as well as the official incitement, which is led by Netanyahu, would lead to the weakening of the trend of peace and negotiation in the whole region," the ministry warned.

The ministry also accused the Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu of persistently backing the options of escalation, suppression and mass punishment against the Palestinians, and using a violent strategy to deal with the serious deterioration in the situation.

The ministry demanded the Israeli government to stop its escalation of aggressive practices against Jerusalem, its Palestinian natives and the Aqsa Mosque and align itself with political solutions ending the current tension through recognizing the Palestinian state with east Jerusalem as its capital and its people's right to self-determination.

Picture
Israeli police released nine relatives of two Palestinian attackers who had been detained earlier in the day, Tuesday. Meanwhile, clashes continue in Jerusalem and the occupied West Bank.

Israeli police raided the Jabal al-Mukabbir neighborhood, Tuesday, where they detained 12 family members of Ghassan Abu Jamal and his cousin Uday, after they entered a synagogue in Jerusalem with meat cleavers, knives and guns, killing five Israelis.

A lawyer for Addameer said that two brothers of Abu Jamal and the brother of Uday are still in custody.

In the occupied West Bank, Israeli settlers smashed the windshields of several Palestinian vehicles in the Nablus district.

Mr. Arif al-Tahir, from Nablus, said that he witnessed dozens of settlers smashing windshields near the Huwwara military checkpoint in the presence of Israeli soldiers.

A local Fateh leader, Awwad Naji, said that Israeli soldiers told shop owners to shut down their stores and move their vehicles, in order to avoid having them damaged by settlers.

Meanwhile, settler attacks also occurred in the village of al-Lubban al-Sharqiyya, and near Yatta, to the south of Hebron.

Three Palestinians, on Wednesday, survived a car-ramming attack along bypass road ‘60’, where a settler deliberately drove toward them, in an attempt to run them over.

Maher al-Kaabneh, and two brothers Suliman and Ibrahim al-Kaabneh, sought shelter behind the stone wall along the road, and managed to escape, according to WAFA.

Attacks by illegal Israeli settlers against Palestinians and their property are commonplace in the occupied territories, but are rarely prosecuted by authorities, let alone reported by mainstream press, while retaliatory attacks by Palestinians are typically spotlighted as the actions of terrorists.

Settlers attack Palestinian homes, vehicles in Nablus

Jewish extremist settlers attacked overnight Palestinian homes and vehicles at the entrance to Burin town and at the outskirts of Hawara town to the south of Nablus.

Local sources confirmed that a group of settlers brutally attacked three Palestinian homes in Burin town and completely destroyed their furniture.

Meanwhile, an Israeli settler suffered slight injuries late Tuesday after being attacked with an iron rod while driving a motorcycle in the Old City east of occupied Jerusalem.

According to Israel’s TV Channel 7, a number of Palestinian youths attacked the settler with an iron rod before fleeing the scene.

Israeli forces were deployed in large numbers in the area looking for the attackers, the TV added.

Earlier Tuesday, two Palestinian young men carried out a deadly attack on a Jewish synagogue located in the ethnically-cleansed Palestinian village of Deir Yassin in response to Israel’s mounting terrorism against Palestinian civilians and Muslims’ holy shrines in Occupied Jerusalem, most recently was hanging to death an Arab driver in occupied Jerusalem on Sunday.
