Sheikh Khader Adnan
The leadership of the Islamic Jihad Movement in Palestine strongly condemned the security coordination between the Palestinian Authority security apparatuses and the Israeli occupation army in the West Bank.
This came in a press conference held by two leading figures of the movement Tariq Ka'adan and Khader Adnan in the city of Ramallah on Thursday afternoon, during which they discussed the security campaign waged by the PA security services against the Islamic Jihad in all parts of the occupied West Bank.
Leader Adnan revealed in detail the circumstances of his arrest, with his cousin liberated prisoner Farouk Musa, Wednesday night by elements of the General Intelligence Service.
He said he had been assaulted and abused during his detention, and stressed that the occupation is the sole beneficiary of the political arrests against leaders and cadres of the resistance factions in West Bank.
Sheikh Adnan also stressed that despite the arrest campaigns waged by the occupation and the authority apparatuses, his movement will always adhere to the option of resistance.
For his part, the leader Tariq Ka'adan pointed to the recent raid on the house of the Islamic Jihad Movement leader Sheikh Bassam Saadi by the PA security services, noting that only six hours after the raid the occupation army arrested Saadi's son and brother.
The Authority security apparatuses summoned 18 liberated captives during November, Ka’adan said, calling on the PA to release the resistance in the West Bank.

MP Samira Halaiqa stated that the PA was responsible for the assassination of three Palestinian activists in al-Khalil on Tuesday night by Israeli soldiers, saying that security coordination with occupation has led to this crime. The three martyrs were chased by PA security forces three weeks before being killed by Israeli forces, she added.
She considered the claims saying that the three martyrs were affiliated with an extremist Jihadist group as a kind of misinformation to cover up for the security coordination crime between PA and Israeli forces.
PA uses these claims to justify its security coordination policy with the occupation authorities and to justify its arrest and summons campaigns against citizens in the occupied West Bank, she continued.
Change and Reform bloc MP Halaiqa stated that the PA is unable to prevent Israeli forces from carrying out crimes and arrests against Palestinians in West Bank.
For its part, the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine renewed its call on the PA to stop concessions and negotiations with the occupation, saying that such negotiation give cover to Israeli crimes.
The PFLP said that the killing of three Palestinians in al-Khalil came as part of the Israeli war crimes committed against Palestinian land, rights and holy sites.

Palestinian intelligence elements raided on Wednesday the house of Sheikh Khader's cousin Farouk Moussa to arrest him, when the Jihad Movement leader intervened; stressing that such actions serve only the occupation.
Local sources said that both Khader Adnan and his cousin Farouk were arrested and transferred to the Palestinian intelligence headquarters.
Sheikh Adnan stressed after his release on his continued rejection of the policy of political detention, adding that he will continue to express his position that rejects the repression of freedoms and the detention of activists and ex-captives.

The forum of Palestinian journalists called on the journalists, their unions and the intellectuals in the Arab countries to reject all attempts by the federation of Arab journalists (FAJ) to confer legitimacy on its normalization steps with the Israeli occupation.
The federation of Arab journalists justified the visit of its delegation from Egypt and Oman to the West Bank recently by saying that this visit was not aimed to normalize relations with the occupation. The federation claimed that the Israeli occupation authority did not stamp the passports of its delegates, and declared that its next session would be convened next April in Ramallah city.
The federation of Arab journalists used to criminalize any visit by its members to the Israeli occupied territories and blacklist any member journalist who has ties with Israel or visit the occupied lands.
The forum of Palestinian journalists strongly condemned the federation of Arab journalists for legitimizing such visits and described its new position as a dangerous precedent.
"This decision goes against the policies of all Arab bodies and trade unions which reject any act of normalization with the occupation and refuse to allow any Arab passport to be approved with its seals," the forum emphasized.
It added that the federation has been kidnapped by some individuals who claim to represent it, affirming that these individuals only represent certain security agencies who helped them to kidnap the federation in order to market the relations with the occupation as a national act.
In a separate incident, Al-Watan news agency and TV channel said on Sunday that the private guards of de facto president Mahmoud Abbas kidnapped its cameraman Nael Rajoub and its reporter Ibrahim Ankawi as they were doing a routine job near the Palestinian Authority headquarters in Ramallah.
Al-Watan TV reported that it lost contact with its reporters at one o'clock on Sunday afternoon after their cellphones were shut off.
It affirmed that Abbas's guards took the reporters to the PA police which claimed that the intelligence service of Abbas filed a complaint against them because of their presence in a restricted area.
For his part, director of the TV channel Muammar Orabi appealed to the PA to immediately release his reporters, affirming that there were no warning sign telling journalists not to practice their activities in the area.

The PA head of government d. Rami Alhamdillah vowed to investigate the journalists' complaints and violations against them.

A senior Israeli military source told the Israeli Walla News Agency that the Palestinian Security Forces in the West Bank arrested a week ago members of what is believed to be a cell that planned to abduct an Israeli soldier.
The source alleged that the cell reached an advanced level of planning and preparation for the attack, and even located a cave near the West Bank city of Ramallah to hide the body of the abducted soldier in an attempt to hold a prisoner-swap deal with Israel.
Israel’s Central Command of the Military believes the possible scenario that Palestinian fighters have nowadays is based on convincing a soldier to come to the Palestinian territories to conduct certain criminal deals, such as purchasing or selling drugs, or deals to sell weapons.
It said it fears some soldiers would be easily convinced to head to the Palestinian territories, and would then be abducted and killed, especially when taking into consideration it is difficult to hide a living soldier in the occupied West Bank.
According to security officials, the army and the Internal Security Agency have recently “uncovered 40 plots to kidnap Israeli soldiers”, but what worries Israel more is a scenario similar to what happened to Tomer Hazan who was killed, two months ago, in Beit Amin village, near the northern West Bank city of Qalqilia, after willing heading there.
An Israeli security officer said that the soldiers have strict instructions not to enter the occupied territories on their own, and not to hold any suspicious deals with the Palestinians, adding that the abduction of soldiers is a strategic threat to Israel and its military.
Walla News said the military is still interrogating Nidal Omar, from Beit Amin village, near the northern West Bank city of Qalqilia, for his alleged involvement in killing the soldier.
It added that the soldier was strangled to death before he was thrown into a well near the village, and that it seems that Nidal was aided by accomplices to carry out the abduction.
Israeli security officials said that they are becoming more convinced that Nidal’s brother, imprisoned by Israel, was aware of his brother’s plan to kidnap a soldier. Yet, no evidence of such a connection was ever found.

Member of the political bureau of Hamas Ezzat Resheq condemned the campaign of arrests waged against the leaders and cadres of the movement in the West Bank on Sunday night. Resheq said in statements published on his Facebook page on Monday "the detention of the MPs and the Hamas leaders in Nablus and al-Khalil confirms the state of confusion and panic experienced by the occupation leaders."
He pointed out that the campaign of arrests comes as a result of the crime of security coordination between the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank and the occupation state.
The occupation forces announced the arrest of 20 Palestinians in Jenin, Nablus, Tulkarem and al-Khalil on Sunday night, including a number of leaders and cadres of Hamas, two MPs from the Change and Reform Bloc and more than ten members of the Islamic bloc at An-Najah National University.
The Palestinian Legislative Council appealed to Arab and Islamic countries, the Arab League and the Organization of the Islamic Conference to immediately intervene "to protect the Palestinian elected representatives from the Israeli racist policy", and called on the Palestinians and Arabs to unite their ranks to confront the occupation plans.
Ahmed Bahar, First Deputy Speaker of the Palestinian Legislative Council, condemned in a press statement the abduction of the MPs, and stressed that "this policy constitutes a flagrant violation of all international treaties and conventions, particularly the Fourth Geneva Convention."
Bahar considered that kidnapping the MPs "represents a continuation of the occupation schemes to disrupt the work of the Palestinian Legislative Council", and held the occupation fully responsible for the consequences of this arrests campaign.
He called on all the members of the Legislative Council to attend the Council meetings, and to actively contribute in advancing the Palestinian reconciliation process.
For his part, Hamas spokesman Fawzi Barhoum said in a statement on Monday that the campaign of arrests "came in the framework of the American-Israeli coordination with the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank and aimed to create disruption in the Palestinian equation to ensure strengthening one party over another."
Barhoum stressed that these arrests will not deter Hamas and its supporters from adopting the choice of resistance in the defense of the people, the land and the holy places, adding that it will accelerate the outbreak of a Palestinian Intifada and revolution."
Meanwhile, the Hamas leader in the West Bank Faze’ Sawaftah condemned in remarks "the wide and fierce campaign of arrests" which targeted the movement leaders at dawn Monday.
He pointed out that this campaign came in an attempt "to calm down the Israeli angry street following the occupation government's decision to release a group of veteran prisoners who had been arrested before the Oslo agreement."
Sawaftah stressed that this campaign of arrests will never undermine the determination of the members of Hamas movement.

Israeli sources have reported that Palestinian security officers allegedly managed to uncover and foil a drone attack planned by the Hamas movement, in Hebron, in the southern part of west Bank.
The sources said that P.A. officers uncovered a “Hamas cell” preparing and planning to attack an Israeli target by an explosive-laden drone.
Alleged cell members are said to be students of the Hebron University; Israel says they conducted a field test on the drone, but were taken prisoner by Palestinian security officers before they managed to actually conduct their actual attacks.
The Israeli Military confirmed the report, and said that the army has recently managed to uncover many cells planning to attack Israeli targets in different parts of Palestine.
Back in April this year and in October of last year, the Israeli Air Force downed two drones operated by the Lebanon-based Hezbollah party.
Walla: PA forces arrest Qassam cell planning drone attack
The PA security services in West Bank have arrested recently a cell affiliated with Qassam Brigades, Hamas military wing, accused of building a small pilotless aircraft equipped with explosives, Walla Hebrew website said. The Hebrew website quoted a Palestinian security official as saying that PA security forces had arrested members of a Qassam cell in al-Khalil University involved in the plan.
The cell planned to launch a drone attack on Israel, according to the Israeli sources.
The sources pointed out that Hamas cell planned several times to build a drone equipped with explosives to detonate it over Israeli areas.
Hamas movement, for its part, issued a statement denouncing "this new serious proof of security cooperation between the occupation and the PA services."
The spokesman for the movement, Sami Abu Zahri, criticized the Palestinian Authority for "hindering all the efforts of the resistance and protecting the security of the occupation."
Abu Zahri stressed, "Such attempts will not succeed in preventing resistance from protecting our people and sanctities".

The PA security agencies arrested on Thursday the father of political prisoner Ahmad Hamdan. The same agencies detained a university student and a writer in the cities of al-Khalil and Qalqilya.
Sources close to the family of Hamdan told the PIC reporter that the father Muhammad Hamdan received a phone call for the general attorney’s office asking him to go the General Intelligence (GI) headquarters to collect his son.
The sources added that the father and the mother along with their children went to the GI headquarters on Thursday evening, but the GI officers refused to release Ahmad and told the father that we will not release him and we will not obey the orders of the attorney general.
As the father insisted on his son’s release, the GI officers became angry and threatened they will kill him if he does not leave, then they encircled his car and arrested him, while the rest of the family refused to leave until the release of the father and the son.
Ahmad Hamdan was detained last Saturday. He has not been charged, and he gets released briefly every 48 hours, just outside the GI headquarters and arrested again to “comply with the law” that allows the detention of suspects for 48 hours without a charge.
This is the 19th time Ahmad, who spent a total of 23 months in Israeli occupation jails, had been detained by the PA security agencies for his political affiliation.
In Qalqilya, the PA security served writer Khalil Mansour with a summons for his critical articles of the government.
In al-Khalil, the General Intelligence summoned Musaab Zaghir, a student at the al-Khalil University.
Meanwhile, PA security continues to detain 13 university students from al-Khalil university.

PA security elements, at dawn Friday, raided the home of imprisoned leader Jamal Abu al-Hayja, in a barbaric manner and threatened his wife unless her son Hamza surrenders himself to PA security in two days. Um al-Abed the wife of Sheikh Jamal Abu al-Hayja, told the PIC reporter that PA security forces raided her home twice between midnight and dawn, hoping that Hamza would have returned after their first raid.
She added that they raided the house without any search warrant and without and consideration to the fact that only women were present at the house. They threatened that they will harm Hamza if he does not surrender to them.
Former minister of prisoners affairs, Wasfi Qabaha, lambasted the PA security for raiding the home of a leader “who lost his arm in the battle of honor in defense of the dignity and honor of his people in the Jenin refugee camp [in 2002].. and who is languishing in occupation jails serving nine life terms.”

The two Palestinian youths Islam Mossa and Mohamed Assi spent Eid al-Adha away from their families and behind the Israeli bars after being arrested by Israeli forces on the day of Arafat, the day before Eid al-Adha. The Israeli forces arrested Islam and Mohammed, from Ramallah, after raiding and violently searching their parents' houses.
It worth mentioning that the two youths' arrest came three days after being released from PA jails where they spent three months behind PA bars as part of the security coordination policy between Israeli and Palestinian authorities in West Bank.
Islam's mother stated that her son was jailed during Eid al-Fitr in PA jails and he is also detained in Eid al-Adha in Israeli prisons.
Islam's arrest deepens his family's suffering especially that his father Salah Mossa, 48, is detained and sentenced to 17 life terms in Israeli jails for being affiliated with a "dangerous group" in Ramallah.
The two young men were first arrested in PA jails for 15 days to be released by a court's order, however they were detained again few moments after their release.
The PA Intelligence has extended their arrest twice despite the court's order to release them. They were then released few days before Eid al-Adha to be re-arrested by Israeli forces.
Islam and Mohamed's issue has negatively affected on the Palestinian judicial system's reputation where it proves that the Palestinian Judiciary is directed by PA security services.
