A number of extremist Israeli settlers invaded, Thursday, the village of Qusra, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, and attacked property before local villagers chased them, and briefly detained two.
Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian official in charge of Israeli Settlements file in northern West Bank, said the settlers came from Yesh Kodesh illegal settlement, south of the village.
Daghlas added that local youths surrounded the invading settlers, and held two of them for more than 30 minutes, before the Palestinian District Coordination office intervened, and handed them to the Israeli side.
The official further stated that clashes took place in the village after several Israeli military vehicles invaded it, and handed the residents military orders to demolish six water wells.

Medical negligence could cause prisoner to lose sight in one eye
On Sunday, a Palestinian was shot and injured with live ammunition, while many others were injured with rubber-coated steel bullets fired by Israeli forces, during confrontations which erupted at Qalandia checkpoint, to the north of Jerusalem.
According to WAFA correspondence, confrontations erupted during a peaceful demonstration organized by popular committees for the defense of al-Aqsa mosque, in light of recently escalating Israeli violations against the mosque.
Forces fired live ammunition, rubber bullets and tear gas canisters towards the demonstration, shooting and injuring many.
Local sources stated that a 19-year-old Palestinian was shot in the thigh with live ammunition, while some15 others were shot and injured by rubber-coated bullets. Dozens others suffocated due to tear gas inhalation.
No arrests were reported by WAFA.
In the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Authority sent extra security forces to Hebron, in the southern West Bank, on Saturday, just days after it announced that it would be conducting an extensive campaign in the city to arrest "outlaws."
An anonymous Palestinian security source, speaking to Ma'an News Agency, said that the campaign targeted perpetrators of armed robberies, arms and drug trade, shooting, and those who sold Palestinian property and land to Israelis.
"The security arrangements in Hebron are special because large parts of the city -- especially the south -- are still under Israeli security control, and Palestinian security forces are not allowed to operate there," the source said.
"Thus, more than 60 outlaws use it as a shelter to escape from Palestinian security," he added, saying that there was security coordination with Israeli forces in place in order to allow the Palestinian security to work in south Hebron at specific hours.
Some 40 Palestinians were arrested in Hebron in October alone, by Palestinian security forces, he added.
Meanwhile, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Club (PPC) has declared that medical negligence by the Israeli prison administration could cause prisoner Jaber A’wies, detained in Megiddo Israeli prison, to lose sight in his right eye due to severe infections left untreated.
WAFA further reports that, the head of the PPC Rae’d A’amer said, via press release, that A’wies cannot see well with his right eye due to an old injury he sustained from a bullet fired at him by Israeli forces before his March arrest, stressing that A’wies will lose complete vision in his eye if he doesn’t not receive the necessary treatment.
The prisoner’s family has appealed to the relevant parties to intervene and exert pressure on Israeli prison administration to provide their son with the needed treatment, stressing that they are banned from visiting their son for ‘security reasons’.
Minister of Prisoners' Affairs, Issa Qaraqe, says that the number of sick prisoners detained in Israeli jails has now reached 1,500, of whom 80 are suffering from serious health problems and do not receive the necessary treatment; they suffer from malignant diseases, paralysis, and disabilities, in addition to cases of mental illnesses and neurological disorders.

Two Palestinian citizens, affiliated with Hamas, were detained Thursday by the Palestinian Authority (PA) intelligence agency during raids in Beit Kahel, west of al-Khalil.
The PA forces arrested 23-year-old student Leith Asafra after raiding his family home in Beit Kahel town, west of al-Khalil city, his family said.
Leith’s apprehension took place a few hours after the PA intelligence had arrested Palestinian schoolteacher Sa'eid Asafra, 42, from the same town.
For its part, the family of Palestinian detainee Abdullah Ad'ies appealed to human rights groups to pressure the PA to release its son, who has been on a hunger strike since his detention last Friday with no reason as he was on his way to al-Hussein Mosque.
The family complained that the PA preventive security apparatus refuses to allow it to visit its son in jail.

The Hamas Movement demanded the Palestinian Authority (PA) to end the closure of its institutions in the West Bank and take a stand against the campaigns of political arrests and summonses that are launched by its security apparatuses. Its spokesman in Ramallah Sa'ed Abul-Baha called on the PA in press remarks on Thursday to lift its restrictions on freedoms in the West Bank, allow political parties to exercise their activities freely and give the Palestinian people a free hand to resist the Israeli occupation and defend themselves and holy sites.
"The continuing violation of human rights by the security apparatuses in the West Bank would torpedo the reconciliation file and put its future in jeopardy," the spokesman warned.

The Hamas Movement strongly denounced the Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces for suppressing peaceful marches organized in different West Bank areas in support of the Aqsa Mosque. "Hamas condemns the repression of marches supporting the Aqsa Mosque by the security apparatuses in West Bank cities, and we consider it a step in the opposite direction that would give the occupation a chance to do whatever it likes with the Aqsa Mosque," spokesman for the Movement Sami Abu Zuhri stated on Friday.
Abu Zuhri called on Palestinian premier Rami Al-Hamdallah to assume his responsibilities towards such antinational practices.
The PA security forces on Friday afternoon quelled marches called for by Hamas in the cities of Ramallah, Nablus and Al-Khalil protesting Israel's escalating violations against the Aqsa Mosque.
In a related context, several photos posted on social networking pages showing PA security soldiers assaulting citizens during rallies staged yesterday for the Aqsa Mosque raised the ire of the Palestinians and many people worldwide.
Thousands of facebook and twitter users made heated comments on such photos deploring the PA and its security apparatuses as traitors and calling for revolting against it.
For his part, Sheikh Kamal Al-Khatib, deputy head of the Islamic Movement in the 1948 occupied lands, described what had happened to the protestors during the marches as a disaster and tragedy and demanded the PA to end its security cooperation with Israel.

Farmers detained near Jenin
Palestinian Authority security forces killed a 25-year-old man, early this morning, during a raid in the southern West Bank city of Hebron.
Security officials informed Ma'an News Agency that clashes broke out as PA forces attempted to arrest several wanted men who had been hiding south of Hebron, in Area C.
It remains unclear just what the men are accused of. However, they reportedly opened fire at security forces during the raid, injuring seven security personnel, including one who is now in critical condition.
PA forces responded with live fire, injuring one Bilal al-Rajabi, who later died in a hospital.
Security spokesperson Adnan al-Damiri told Ma'an that security forces arrested 21 wanted criminals in the Jabal Jawhar area, where they recovered several stolen vehicles.
PA security continues to work in close coordination with the Israel, despite fierce Palestinian resistance to the occupation.
Also in the occupied West Bank , on Thursday, the Israeli army abducted a Palestinian youth at an Israeli checkpoint near Bethlehem, according to reports by security sources.
They said that Israeli soldiers arrested 19-year-old Mohammad Fanoun who was traveling to Jerusalem through ‘checkpoint 300’, under the pretext of illegal entry to Israel.
Israeli authorities rarely issues entry permits for Palestinians, either for work or for prayers at al-Aqsa Mosque in Jerusalem, which provokes a large number to enter without permits.
Meanwhile, WAFA reports that Israeli soldiers broke through into an agricultural area near the village of Rummaneh, northwest of Jenin, where they detained a group of farmers and volunteers who were harvesting olive trees.
The soldiers transferred them to the nearby Salim military complex, upon which the farmers were interrogated army officers before being released.

The Palestinian Authority (PA) security forces in the West Bank have arrested 145 citizens and summoned 175 others for interrogation since Israel ended its military aggression against Gaza on August 26, the family committee of political prisoners said. In a press release on Monday, the committee said the detainees were mainly students from the Islamic bloc and participants in the rallies that were organized to celebrate the resistance victory in Gaza.
The committee said that it had documented serious violations committed by the PA security apparatuses against the political prisoners during their detention, including physical abuse.
Most of the arrests and summons were carried out by the PA preventive security and general intelligence apparatuses during violent raids on homes, workplaces, and universities, mosques and popular events.
The committee underlined that a large number of the detainees were either summoned or arrested more than once by the PA forces, pointing out that five political detainees have been on hunger strike in PA jails since their arrest on September 23.
The committee called on the PA security apparatuses to stop political arrest campaigns that only serve the occupation and to immediately release all political detainees from their jails and detention centers.

It said the Hamas movement responded to the message, and arrested the group.
According to the report, Hamas affirmed its commitment to the ceasefire agreement, and that it will arrest any group that violates the truce.
Israel Ynet News said the group behind the incident is believed to be a “rebellious faction”, adding that Israel threatened that should Hamas fail to act, “it will have to act and retaliate."
On its part, Hamas denied any knowledge of the mortar attack, and said it is fully committed to the truce that was reached on August 26.
The movement said it will not allow any group to violate the truce in any way, shape of form.

The Palestinian Authority (PA) preventive security apparatus in Tulkarem on Thursday extended the detention of Hamas official Iyad Nasser for two more weeks without providing a legal justification for the decision. Nasser’s family told the Palestinian information center (PIC) that the preventive apparatus extended the detention of Hamas official Sheikh Iyad Husni Nasser, 41, after they arrested him on Tuesday.
Nasser has been exposed to severe torture by the PA security apparatuses and denied the right to family visits, including his mother and wife, who have been unable to see him even for five minutes to check up on his health, according to his family.
Iyad Nasser was an ex-prisoner and served as a Hamas spokesperson in Tulkarem.
In a related context, the PA security apparatuses have stepped up their arbitrary arrests against Hamas supporters and members in the occupied West Bank.
The PA preventive forces rounded up Palestinian university student Muhammad Frihat in Tulkarem and ex-prisoner Sameh Samha after raiding his family home in Jayyous town, northeast of Qalqiliya city.
Ex-prisoner and university student Muhammad al-Arouri has been held in a PA detention center in Ramallah for three days.
As part of the revolving door policy, the Israeli occupation forces kidnapped university student Muhammad Abu Arkoub at a military checkpoint erected near Beit Awa in al-Khalil.
In a related development, a round of hearings is due to be held by the magistrates’ court in Nablus over the cases of a number of Hamas supporters for the 18th time after a series of adjournments for two years

Hamas slammed on Thursday the arbitrary mass arrest campaign which was stepped up recently by the security apparatuses of the Palestinian authority (PA) against Hamas members and supporters in the occupied West Bank. The campaign started after the Hamas Movement organized massive rallies across the West Bank celebrating its victory over the Israeli occupation in the last war.
The Palestinian preventive security forces nabbed political ex-detainee Ahmad Abu Jamous from his own family home in Tulkarem after he had turned down an interrogation summon.
In turn, ex-detainee Yahiya Mu'amar, from Tulkarem, also rejected a PA interrogation summon.
The PA security apparatuses also arrested Palestinian journalist Zayd Abu Ara and university student Mahmoud Walid Abu Ara from Jenin because of their participation in pro-Hamas events.
Ex-detainee Adam Abu Sharar and young man Abdul Razak Mhana were rounded up by the preventive forces during their presence at their workplaces in al-Khalil and Ramallah.
The PA forces also arrested Mahmoud Karim Ayyad, from Bethlehem, after he refused to comply with an interrogation order.

Eighteen suspected collaborators were killed by Hamas on Friday as the group announced a crackdown on Palestinians alleged to be working with Israel.
Seven men were shot dead in front of a mosque by men in Hamas military uniforms after Friday prayers, witnesses said.
The Hamas-affiliated al-Majd website said they were killed after legal procedures were completed against them. Suspects accused of collaboration are taken to "revolutionary military trials" presided over by security and legal experts, the site added.
Earlier, eleven Palestinians were killed by Hamas for allegedly collaborating with Israel.
A Ma'an reporter said two bodies were found near the al-Azhar University in Gaza City while several others were taken to al-Shifa medical center.
The 11 suspected collaborators were killed at a Gaza police station and had been sentenced by local courts, The Associated Press reported.
A day earlier, Hamas executed three alleged collaborators with Israel and arrested seven others.
It is believed the executions and arrests took place following the assassination of three senior Hamas military commanders at dawn on Tuesday.
Information passed to Israel's security services by Palestinian collaborators is often being used to make arrests and assassinate high-profile political and militant figures.
Under Palestinian law, collaboration with Israel is punishable by death.
However all execution orders must be approved by the president before they can be carried out. Hamas no longer recognizes the legitimacy of incumbent Mahmoud Abbas, whose four-year term ended in 2009.
UN rights chief Navi Pillay last year described the judicial process for death sentences in Gaza as "deeply flawed."
