PLO Central Committee Member, Nabeel Shaath, told PNN that the Palestinian Authority demands international observation of Israel’s investigations into the recent incidents against Israelis. Shaath’s statement regards the Israeli media’s inconsistent reporting and fluctuating details of the attacks.
Instead of raiding the city of al-Beireh and blaming the PA for the violence, Shaath suggests Israel begins collaborating with the PA regarding politics and security.
Shaath noted that the Israeli media’s varying narratives of these incidents prove the necessity for international investigations and supervision of such controversial cases. He cites the example of an Israeli female settler, who according to one Israeli media source was shot and killed, according to another she was stabbed, meanwhile a third source denied the incident all together.
This indicates the need for an international investigation that cooperates in revealing the truth and ensures mutual accountability. Such an investigative system would also prevent Israel from manipulating facts in order to create excuses to halt the peace negotiations. He added that Israel will likely use the attacks as a reason to evade the promised release of prisoners.

Seraya Ofer 61
Two Palestinians killed a retired Israeli colonel outside his settlement home in the occupied West Bank late Thursday, Israeli media reported.
Israel's Ynet news site, quoting the colonel's wife, reported that Seraya Ofer was bludgeoned to death in the northern Jordan Valley by two Palestinians wielding iron bars and axes.
Israeli Reserve Colonel Killed In Jordan Valley Settlement
Israeli daily, Haaretz, has reported that an Israeli reserve officer settler was killed outside his home in the Brosh Habika illegal Israeli settlement in the occupied Jordan Valley. Haaretz has reported that “Palestinians who infiltrated into the settlement attacked the officer, 61 years of age, with an axe”, and struck the man’s wife moderately injuring her; the wife managed to escape and contacted the police.
The slain officer has been identified as Seraiah Ofer; his wife has been identified as Monique.
The wife said that she and her husband heard a noise outside of their home, and were reportedly attacked by “Palestinians carrying an axe and iron rods”, Haaretz said.
The Israeli army initiated a search campaign in the area, installed several roadblocks looking for the attackers, and closed Highway 90 leading to illegal settlements in the occupied Jordan Valley of the West Bank.
Aref Daraghma, head of the Wadi Al-Maleh Local council in the Jordan Valley, stated that the army closed all roads leading to the Jordan valley, including Taiaseer and Al-Hamra roadblocks.
Daraghma added that the army also installed several temporary roadblocks on a number of minor roads linking between Palestinian communities in the area, and installed a roadblock at the northern entrance of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.
The army stopped and searched hundreds of Palestinian vehicles, and interrogated the residents while inspecting their ID cards.

Soldier shot in neck near checkpoint adjacent to Cave of Patriarchs; rushed to Jerusalem hospital in critical condition but later dies of wounds
An IDF soldier was killed Sunday after he was shot in the neck near a checkpoint in Hebron's Cave of Patriarchs. He was rushed to the Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem in critical condition but eventually died of his wounds. An initial estimate suggests he was shot by a Palestinian sniper.
Security forces have set up roadblocks in the area in a bid to capture the shooter. Hebron is under a lock-down.
The shooting is thought to have occurred during a riot in the Cave of Patriarchs area. Security forces at the site were on high alert in light of Sukkot events. Palestinian hurled stones and fired firecrackers at troops who responded with crowd-dispersal means.
Security forces are evacuating thousands of visitors from the site. IDF sources said the army is treating the incident as a shooting attack and employing appropriate measures.
On Saturday it was revealed that Sgt. Tomer Hazan, an Israeli soldier, was murdered by Nidal Amar, who had worked with him at a Bat Yam restaurant.
Amar had lured Hazan to his home in the West Bank, murdered him and dumped his body in a well.
He told investigators he had murdered Hazan in order to use the body as a bargaining tool to free his brother, a Tanzim operative held in Israel for involvement in terrorist activity.
Hazan was laid to rest in a Holon cemetery on Sunday afternoon.

An Israeli soldier has been abducted and killed by a Palestinian man in the West Bank, the Israeli military says.
The soldier was seized on Friday and his body found near the town of Qalqiliya on Saturday, a military spokesman told the AFP news agency.
A suspect has been arrested. The Israeli prime minister's spokesman named him on Twitter as Nidal Ammer, 42, who worked with the soldier.
The West Bank has been under Israeli military occupation since 1967.
Israeli officials said the suspect confessed to abducting and killing the soldier in the hope that he could trade the body in exchange for the release of his imprisoned brother.
Israel's internal security agency, Shin Bet, told the Associated Press (AP) the soldier's body was found in a well in a Palestinian village near the city of Qalqiliya in the northern West Bank.
The military says the soldier's family has been notified, AP reports.

Natanel Moshiashvili 21

Resident of Ashkelon, killed in 'Abasan al-Kabira, Khan Yunis district, by live ammunition. Additional information: Killed when participating in hostilities.
Killed during an exchange of fire with an armed Palestinian near the Gaza perimeter fence. IDF Staff Sgt. Was a wanted person.
Staff Sgt. Netanel Moshiashvili of the Golani Brigade was killed earlier this morning (Friday) after many attacks against Palestinians and the killing of Zuhair Rashid Lubada.
In response to the killing, IAF aircraft targeted three "weapons manufacturing facilities" in the central Gaza Strip as well as two underground tunnels in the northern and southern Gaza Strip. Direct hits were identified at Palestinian fishing boats and farmers. Also see here.
Many students of this conflict in the Holy Land believe Israel's goal is to always entice a military reaction in order to generate headlines allowing the repeated use of the term 'terrorist'. Once again, the Palestinians say it is Israel that ignited the current round of violence.
The IDF terror organization is solely responsible for the dead of Natanel.
Hamas holds Israel responsible for its military escalation on Gaza borders
GAZA, (PIC)-- The Hamas Movement held the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) responsible for the military escalation that took place south of Gaza borders on Friday leading to the killing of one Palestinian resistance fighter and one Israeli soldier.
In a press statement to Quds Press, senior Hamas official and lawmaker Mushir Al-Masri stressed that the Palestinian people have the right to defend themselves against any Israeli military incursions and attacks.
Masri said Israel's threats would never scare the Palestinians in Gaza who have the right to defend and repel Israel's incursions and military operations inside their territory.
"The truce is still effective and it is part of a national consensus, so any confrontation with the occupation would be certainly in the framework of a national agreement on the basis of considering the higher national interest of our people," the Hamas official affirmed.
For its part, the resistance committees blessed the Palestinian counterattack against an Israeli military post east of Khan Younis city on Friday.
The resistance committees warned Israel of the consequences of committing any follies against Gaza, and stressed that the resistance would not be watching the Israeli violations in Gaza and would respond strongly.

Chief Warrant Officer Pascal Avrahami 49
Resident of Jerusalem. He was one of Palestinians most wanted. Born in France and moved to Israel in 1977. He joined the Border Police YAMAM (the Israeli terrorist SWAT Unit), in 1985 and was trained as a fighter, sniper and killer.
Avrahami was a legendary sharpshooter and was the police force''s elite anti-Arab unit''s most veteran sniper. A decorated officer in Israel. Avrahami was awarded the medal of valor in 1990 and in 1995 received the medal of distinguished service to kill Arabs.
Avrahami was killed by Palestinian fire near the Egyptian border while Ehud Barak [1] and IDF Chief of Staff Benny Gantz [2] briefed journalists nearby. Shortly before he was killed, he was photographed alongside them. The announcement of Avrahami’s death was made while some of his comrades were still in the field, hunting for more Arabs.
"He was a rare, exceptional man," a Border Guard official who knew Avrahami said. "He raised generations of fighters in this elite unit."
General Yochanan Danino said: "Few knew that this modest man, who trained generations of fighters, holds two medals. He was noted for his vast professional knowledge along with his coolness and composure." Former YAMAM commander David Tsur: "He served as a model for generations of the unit''s fighters, who grew up on the stories of his bravery." This terrorist was called a "hero" and "legendary sharpshooter" in Israel for killing innocent Palestinians.

Udi Fogel 36

Resident of illegal Itamar, Nablus district, killed in Itamar, which was built in 1984 on Palestinian lands stolen from the villages of Rujeib, Awarta, Beit Furik and Yanun in the northern Nablus district, by live ammunition.
Additional information: Wanted terrorist Capt. (res.) Ehud “Udi” Vogel or (Fogel), settler and an officer of the Idf intelligence, a war criminal, colonist and member of the “Gush Emunim” terrorist group, who has perpetrated uncounted crimes in the occupied territories. Killed with his wife and their three children in their home in the illegal Itamar settlement. Did not participate in hostilities when killed.
On April 17 2011, the israeli occupation forces stated that they had arrested two Palestinian teenager, Amjad Awad, 19, and Hakim Awad 17, in relation to the deaths of the colonists. Both boys are students from Awarta. The statement of the Israeli appears to be a lie, published in order to cover up the fact that colonist Udi “Vogel” was killed by Asian workers who Vogel had scammed out of their salary. The Palestinian teenagers admitted having done the killings under grave torture by “Shin Bet” interrogators.
The farcical statement published by the israeli intelligence about the arrest of the Palestinian teenagers, stating that the two boys were members of the “Palestinian Popular Front” and had done the attack “on their own responsibility and without authorization from the “Popular Front” sets a new precedent in the israeli propaganda, which has until now never protected Palestinian organizations or their leadership, but would hurl accusations for every true or imagined crime at existing and imaginary Palestinian groups and persons. To people who understand the modus operandi of the israelis, this is equivalent to a confession that they have no idea who killed the Vogel family.

Larissa Grishchenko

Larissa Grishchenko, 39, of Hadera was the seventh victim of the suicide bomber who detonated himself at Hadera's open-air market shortly before 4 p.m. Wednesday afternoon, October 26, 2005. Fatally wounded in the attack, she died on Sept 16, 2009 in a Pardes Hanna hospital after lying unconscious in the hospital for almost four years.
Islamic Jihad claimed responsibility for the attack, which occurred in front of a felafel stand at the entance to the seaside town's market. The other victims were Michael Kaufman, Pirhiya Machlouf, Sabiha Nissim, Jamil Qa'adan, Ya'acov Rahmani. and Genia Poleis.
Larissa Grishchenko was born in the Ukrainian village of Sekmoropa, near Chernobyl, in 1970. She studied pharmacy at Zaproza University in Ukraine, where she met her husband Boris, also a pharmacy student. They were married in 1991, and lived in Ukraine for the next seven years, during which time their oldest daughter was born.
In 1998 the family immigrated to Israel and settled in Hadera, where two more children were born.
Boris and Larissa both worked in their profession as pharmacists after their arrival in Israel and had been saving up for their dream of purchasing their own apartment. Larissa had begun to work at the recently opened pharmacy in Kfar Vitkin just half a year before the attack, where she quickly became part of the team. Dr. Yael Kraus, head of the clinic, described her as professional and responsible, who immediately won the hearts of all.
All that changed on October 26, 2005, when the family drove to the market to shop. Because they couldn't find a parking space, Larissa got out of the car by herself to do the shopping. When she was near the falafel stand, a suicide bomber exploded close to her. She suffered shrapnel injuries to her head and brain, and was rushed to Tel Hashomer hospital in critical condition.
Larissa's condition never improved. She remained in a coma for almost four years, before succumbing to her injuries on September 16, 2009.
Larissa Grishchenko was buried in the Christian cemetery of Kibbutz Bahan. She is survived by her husband Boris, her children Yanna (14), Daniel (8), and Diana (6), and her mother.
