Israeli colonialist settlers, illegally squatting on Palestinian lands, chopped Saturday 200 grapevines in Faghour area, in the al-Khader town, south of the West Bank city of Bethlehem, bringing the number of uprooted grapevines and olive trees in the West Bank to 780 in three days.
Emad Da’dou, a nonviolent young activist in al-Khader, said the colonies chopped 200 grapevines, owned by a local farmer, identified as Mohammad Ibrahim Abu al-Kat’a.
He added that the attack took place in an area that is subject to frequent similar violations, and only comes a day after the colonists uprooted 300 grapevines, owned by Nasser Isamel Marzouq, near the illegal colonies of Daniel and Eliezer.
On Thursday, the colonists chopped 200 olive trees and 80 grapevines in lands, owned by Marwan Abdul-Salama Salah and Anas Fathi Salam, near Eliezer colony.
It is worth mentioning that the colonists conduct hundreds of similar violations each year, targeting olive orchards, farmlands, and grapevines across the occupied West Bank, in addition to flooding lands with wastewater.
The Israeli assailants also frequently try to fence the Palestinian lands and squat on them in order to annex them to build new colonialist outposts or to expand existing ones.
All of Israel’s colonies in the occupied West Bank, including in and around occupied East Jerusalem, whether they have been authorized by various Israeli governments or not, are illegal under International Law, the Fourth Geneva Convention, in addition to numerous international resolutions and treaties.

The Ministry of National Economy said in a statement today that Israeli occupation authorities have recently returned back several Palestinian-produced truckloads of agricultural products that were destined for export abroad.
It said that during the past two days, Israeli occupation authorities banned the exit of all Palestinian agricultural items to the outside world, and informed their exporters that the ban would remain in effect until further notice.
"The decision of the Israeli "Defense" Minister Naftali Bennet was apparently not restricted to preventing the entry of Palestinian agricultural products to the Israeli market, but also included a ban on such exports to the countries of the world, including dates and olive oil," said the ministry.
Earlier this week, the Palestinian government declared a ban on the entry of Israeli products into the Palestinian market, including vegetables, fruits, juices, mineral water and carbonated drinks.
This was in response to Bennet’s decision banning the entry of Palestinian agricultural products into Israel, in retaliation for the Palestinian government's boycott of Israeli-produced cattle for almost four months.
Exports of Palestinian agricultural products to Israel amounted to 88 million dollars during 2018, which represents 68% of the total Palestinian agricultural exports to the world, estimated at 130 million dollars in 2018.

Israeli military today issued a military order to seize hundreds of dunams of Palestinian farmland in the southern West Bank district of Hebron, according to local sources.
Hasan Breijieh, an anti-settlement and wall activist, told WAFA that he received a copy of an Israeli military plan to expand the borders of the illegal colonial settlement of Asfar, built illegally on lands belonging to Ash-Shuyukh and Sa'ir, both located to the north of Hebron city.
Breijeh added that the plan entails the confiscation of tens of dunams of Palestinian farmland planted olive and almond trees in basin No. 8 in al- Ash-Shuyukh town and basin No. 20 in Sa'ir for the expansion of the colonial settlement.
According to the Israeli anti-settlement group, Peace Now, “Over the years, Israel has used a number of legal and bureaucratic procedures in order to appropriate West Bank lands, with the primary objective of establishing settlements and providing land reserves for them.”
“Using primarily these five methods: seizure for military purposes; declaration of state lands; seizure of absentee property; confiscation for public needs; and initial registration, Israel has managed to take over about 50% of the lands in the West Bank, barring the local Palestinian public from using them.”
There are almost 834,000 Israeli settlers living in settlements in the West Bank and East Jerusalem.
The number of settlers has almost tripled since the Oslo Accords of 1993, when settlers’ number estimated 252,000. Illegal colonial settlements have leapt from 144 to 515 in that time.
Israel’s nation-state law, passed in July 2018, enshrines Jewish supremacy, and states that building and strengthening the colonial settlements is a “national interest.”
