The open day, called “You will photograph well in Jerusalem,” was organized by groups of photographers in order to invite local citizens to come to Bab al-Amud to take free photos, and to encourage public interaction with the idea of photography.
The police forces also prevented photojournalists from staying in Bab al-Amud to cover the event, violently dealt with them, and threatened to beat them and break their legs.
Police officers also embarked on photographing the participants and the photojournalists and threatened them to use their photos to target and prosecute them.
Later, police elements intercepted Palestinian young citizens in Bab al-Amud, and maltreated and searched them.
