Qaraqe added that Abu Ein, like hundreds of thousands of Palestinians, was a political prisoner, repeatedly imprisoned by Israel, and “always stood with determination, telling the strangers, the occupiers, leave… this is our land.”
He further stated that the Palestinian leadership will hold Israel accountable for its crimes in international courts.

Ziad Abu Ein
The Palestinian leadership has ended all security coordination with Israel in response to the death of Minister Ziad Abu Ein Wednesday following clashes with Israeli soldiers.
Jibril Rajoub told press that the Palestinian Authority (PA) will end "all forms of security coordination with Israel for deliberately killing Minister Ziad Abu Ein."
This was a move called for by all Palestinian political parties.
Israel's Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon said in an official statement that "The incident in which Ziad Abu Ein dies is being investigated by the IDF. We regret his death. We have offered the Palestinian Authority a joint investigation, and there will be a joint autopsy of Abu Ein's body."
President Mahmoud Abbas said on Wednesday evening that all options to respond to the killing of a Palestinian minister are up for debate. Senior PLO official Hanan Ashrawi said the Palestinian leadership demands an independent, neutral investigation into this latest Israeli crime, calling for an end to impunity for Israeli violations.
"Israel's use of excessive and indiscriminate violence constitutes war crimes under international law”, Ashrawi added. “Israel habitually uses extreme violence, especially against non-violent resistance, and Ziad was guilty of nothing more insidious than planting olive trees on Palestinian land that Israel was attempting to steal."

An autopsy conducted overnight Wednesday found the Israeli occupation guilty of the murder of the Palestinian minister Ziyad Abu Ein, who breathed his last shortly after being shoved and grabbed by the neck by an Israeli occupation officer at a West Bank protest on Wednesday morning.
PA minister of civil affairs, Hussein al-Sheikh, told the official Palestine radio station that the autopsy, which was carried out overnight and attended by Palestinian, Jordanian and Israeli medical officials, showed Abu Ein died because of beating by the Israeli occupation soldiers and inhaling large amounts of tear gas in addition to the delay in his transfer to the hospital by the Israeli forces.
He also said that the Israeli forensic expert, who was present at the postmortem, agreed to the findings of the autopsy which he dubbed “professional”.
Abu Ein was killed on Wednesday shortly after an Israeli occupation policeman shoved and grabbed him by the throat during a protest in the West Bank.
Abu Ein, 55, was among scores of Palestinian and foreign activists who were confronted at an Israeli checkpoint while heading to a demonstration against Jewish settlements in the occupied territory, al-Jazeera TV reported.
An Israeli occupation patrol fired tear gas and sound grenades at the group and a scuffle ensued in which an Israeli policeman pushed Abu Ein and grabbed his neck firmly with one hand.
Footage of the incident did not show Abu Ein responding with any violence, a consortium of regional media sources agreed.
Meanwhile, Turkey’s president Recep Tayyip Erdogan slammed the Israeli occupation for having committed such a “heinous crime”.
The Turkish president expressed condolences to the Palestinians in a written statement, saying Abu Ein’s homicide took place following an Israeli assault on a peaceful demo.
"I am remorsefully condemning this despicable Israeli act," Erdogan said in an online statement reported by Anadolu news agency.
"This incident which took the life of Abu Ein is the latest example of Israel's stance toward the Palestinian people, comprised of violence, occupation and destruction," the statement read.
"Turkey will continue to fight against Israel's anti-humanitarian and outrageous actions alongside the Muslim world and other members of the international community," he vowed.

The Palestinian Authority (PA) is pondering a halt to all forms of security coordination with Israel in response to the murder of the Palestinian minister Ziyad Abu Ein at the hands of Israeli occupation forces (IOF), Deputy-Secretary of the Fatah Central Committee Jibril Rajoub said.
Following Abu Ein’s deliberate killing, the PA will discuss ending all sorts of security coordination with Israel, Rajoub wrote on his Facebook page shortly after the Israeli crime against Abu Ein, who is also a member of Fatah revolutionary council.
Al-Jazeera TV quoted Rajoub as saying that the PA decision to stop security coordination with Israeli would be taken in response to the deliberate killing of Abu Ein.
Minister Abu Ein, who was heading the PA Anti-Wall and Settlement Commission, was martyred after being beaten in the chest by IOF soldiers while on his way along with dozens of activists to plant olive trees in a village north of Ramallah.
Medical sources said that Abu Ein died of excessive inhaling of teargas fired by the IOF soldiers. They added that he was also beaten by those soldiers in Tarmasa’iya village, north of Ramallah.
Announcing three days of national mourning, PA chairman Mahmoud Abbas said he would take "necessary steps" at conclusion of investigations into the incident.
However, Israeli war minister Moshe Ya’alon said that security cooperation with the PA did not stop and would remain in the interest of both parties despite the death of senior PA official Ziyad Abu Ein.
Meanwhile, the Democratic Front for the Liberation of Palestine (DFLP) called for escalating popular resistance against the IOF and settlers in response to the deliberate murder of Abu Ein.
The DFLP also called for accelerating PA efforts to join the International Criminal Court.
Deputy Secretary General of the DFLP Qais Abdul Karim Abu Laila stressed the need to activate popular resistance against the Israeli occupation and settlers’ attacks against Palestinian people, most recently was the cold-blooded murder of minister Abu Ein.
In his statement, Abu Laila called on the PA to be decisive with its declared intention to join the ICC in order to hold Israeli leaders accountable for committing war crimes against Palestinians.
Abu Marzouk: Israel must pay a high price for the death of Abu Ein
Member of Hamas's political bureau Mousa Abu Marzouk condemned the killing of senior Fatah official Ziyad Abu Ein as an odious crime and said the Israeli occupation must pay dearly for his death.
"Ziyad was martyred for our land, olives and rights and his martyrdom made the [Palestinian] people join forces, overcoming all internal problems to face a barbaric enemy, and renounce all verbal attacks and accusations in order to focus on their national concerns and their national unity," Abu Marzouk stated on his Facebook page.
The Hamas official noted that he had phoned Abu Ein on Tuesday to discuss an inter-Palestinian issue related to ex-detainees when the latter affirmed he became responsible for the Palestinian Authority commission against the wall and settlement in the West Bank and was not entitled to deal with the issue.
He also said that Abu Ein was the first Palestinian figure who was taken prisoner in the US and stood trial in a federal court in 1990 before he was handed to Israel where he was jailed until his release in the 1985 swap deal.
Abu Ein was killed on Wednesday after his exposure to a physical assault and tear gas inhalation during a peaceful anti-settlement march in Turmus'ayya town, north of Ramallah city.

He said that Abu Ein might have died of heart failure as a result of the firing of tear gas and stun grenades during his participation in a West Bank march.
He also noted that the Israeli army was placed on high alert in West Bank areas in anticipation of any violent protests following the death of the Palestinian official.
The Israeli confirmation of its continued security cooperation with the PA came after a top Fatah leader, Jebril Rajoub, said that the PA would end all security coordination with Israel in the West Bank in the wake of Abu Ein’s death.

Resheq slams Israel’s murder of Palestinian minister, urges swift probe
Political bureau member of Hamas, Ezzet al-Resheq, on Wednesday dubbed the murder of the Palestinian minister Ziyad Abu Ein a barbaric crime aimed at stifling the voice of the Palestinian resistance in the face of Israel’s illegal settlement policies and apartheid wall.
The Hamas leader said in a statement posted on his Facebook page that Ziyad Abu Ein, a resistance icon, was assassinated by a bunch of Israeli criminals.
“But his spilled blood shall remain forever our guide towards liberation,” he added.
“May Abu Ein’s soul rest in peace. His life was taken away while he was fighting for his blessed soil,” Resheq stated.
Preliminary reports said that Abu Ein had been struck by a member of the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) prior to his death, while others said that he got suffocated to death due to the heavy barrages of tear gas unleashed by the IOF.
The IOF claimed to have launched a joint investigation with a Palestinian team to carry out the autopsy after regional and international pressure hit the climax.
The Jordanian government dubbed the murder of Abu Ein another chain in Israel’s flagrant violations of human rights and crimes perpetrated against the Palestinian people.
The Egyptian foreign ministry denounced the crime and voiced concerns over such unwarranted Israeli escalation of violence across the occupied Palestinian territories, calling for an urgent probe into such a heinous crime.
Qatar’s foreign ministry attributed Abu Ein’s death to the Israeli assaults and tear gas attacks randomly unleashed on the protesters.
The state of Qatar called on the international community to take serious action against such Israeli felonies and rally round the Palestinian people.
The Turkish Foreign Ministry slammed the Israeli occupation for the attack.
“We expect an objective and extensive investigation, and want those responsible to be brought to justice," Turkey’s statement read.
"This sad incident is a result of Israeli occupation of the Palestinians’ land," the statement added. "Palestinians have been left stateless, landless in their own home for many years and this is just unacceptable.”
For his part, ex-Arab MK Taleb Al-Sana, held the Israeli premier Benjamin Netanyahu responsible for the crime.
“Such an Israeli crime should not go unnoticed. The Israeli PM has to pay. The UN Security Council and the International Criminal Court must impeach the Israeli occupation for such crimes”.
Palestinian Ex-Minister Hatem Abdul Kader also called for a swift international probe into the odious and premeditated murder.

Following the death of Minister Zia Abu Ein, who was violently assaulted by Israeli soldiers during a nonviolent activity near Ramallah, Permanent Palestinian Observer at the UN Riyad Mansour, demanded the UN to investigate the assault, and to provide protection to the Palestinian people.
Mansour sent three identical letters to UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon, Chad’s Ambassador - the head of the Security Council this month, and the head of the General Assembly, demanding them to stop the escalating Israeli violations and crimes against the Palestinian people, and their representatives.
Mansour provided a detailed account of the incidents that led to the death of Minister Abu Ein, who was violently pushed and beaten by the soldiers, along with many other nonviolent protesters, before the soldiers hurled gas bombs at them, especially targeting the minister leading to his death.
Minister Abu Ein is the head of the Palestinian Committee Against the Wall and Settlements in the occupied West Bank.
Mansour demanded the Security Council and the International Community to act and stop the escalating Israeli crimes.
He added that President Mahmoud Abbas has repeatedly demanded the UN, and its head, to provide international protection for the Palestinian people and their lands, facing constant attacks and crimes by the Israeli occupation army and the extremist settlers, illegally living in the occupied West Bank, and Jerusalem.
Mansour said the world must act and end the illegal, criminal, Israeli occupation of Palestine, so that the Palestinians can establish their independent sovereign state, with East Jerusalem as its capital.
The ambassador also demanded an international, credible, investigation into the crime that led to the death of the Palestinian Minister, and to punish those responsible for the crime.
He also contacted several countries demanding them to denounce the Israeli crimes, and to act on ending the Israeli occupation of Palestine.
Meanwhile, High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Federica Mogherini called for an immediate and independent investigation into the death of Minister Abu Ein.
Mogherini issued a press release stating that the constant reports of excessive use of force by the Israeli army against nonviolent protests and activities are very alarming, adding that the International Community needs to understand the seriousness of the situation on the ground.
She also called on all parties to use utmost restraint “in order to prevent further escalation.”
