Hamas Movement mourned on Wednesday the death of Fatah leader Ziyad Abu Ein and called for ending negotiations and security coordination with the Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) in response to the incident.
Dr. Sami Abu Zuhri, a Hamas spokesman, told the PIC that his Movement mourns the death of Abu Ein, the head of the Anti-Wall and Settlement Commission, and calls for ending all forms of security coordination with the IOA.
He said that the crime proves anew the impossibility of coexistence with occupation, and that all efforts should focus on confronting occupation and preserving national unity.
Israeli occupation forces violently quelled a peaceful Palestinian march led by Abu Ein to plant olive trees in Tarmasaya village, north of Ramallah, on Wednesday morning. The soldiers beat Abu Ein and fired teargas canisters at him and the marchers. He fainted then later died in hospital.
For his part, Mahmoud Abbas, PA chairman and Fatah leader, described the IOF assault on Abu Ein that led to his martyrdom as “savage”.
Abbas said in a press release that the incident was an “unacceptable barbaric act”, adding that the PA will wait for results of the investigation into his martyrdom before adopting any decision.

The sources said that Abu Zein fainted after the soldiers beat him and after inhaling teargas and was rushed to Ramallah hospital where he was declared dead few minutes after his arrival.
Abu Ein served as undersecretary at the ministry of prisoners and ex-prisoners before he was promoted to minister when he was appointed as head of the Commission.

Mr. Abu Ein also reportedly suffered severe tear gas inhalation as Israeli soldiers fired canisters in the area.
A Palestinian security source told AFP that Israeli forces beat Abu Ein with the butts of their rifles and their helmets during a protest march, upon which he lost consciousness and was taken to Ramallah Public Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
Medical sources said that Abu Ein lost consciousness and that his heart stopped after being beaten by Israeli soldiers and inhaling tear gas.
According to Ma'an correspondence, Abu Ein was taking part in a tree-planting project in an area of the village threatened with confiscation.
Dozens of other activists were also taking part in the project.

President Mahmoud Abbas said, Wednesday evening, that all options to respond to the killing of the minister are up for debate.
Abbas said that Israel would fabricate accounts in order to clear itself of the "murder of minister Abu Ein," adding: "We are determined to continue popular resistance" until the occupation and settlements are removed.
Earlier Wednesday, the Palestinian leadership indicated that it had decided to end all security coordination with Israel in response to the death.

The Palestinian Foreign Ministry on Tuesday held the Israeli occupation government responsible for Monday’s assault on the Palestinian young lady Amal Taqatqa, dubbing the crime “premeditated field execution.”
The ministry slammed the attack as a “cowardly act,” saying Amal was hospitalized due to the serious injuries she sustained after she was hit by four bullets unleashed by the Israeli occupation soldiers. She later died in hospital.
“The operation is an on-the-spot and premeditated execution perpetrated by the Israeli occupation forces against the girl, under the guidance of the Israeli occupation government. IOF soldiers showered her with torrents of bullets in an attempt to shoot her dead,” a statement by the ministry read.
The ministry strongly condemned the crime, saying: “We’ve always warned the international community against the serious upshots of such racist instructions, laws, and procedures which incite the occupation soldiers to slaughter Palestinians.”
The ministry held the Israeli occupation government responsible for the crime, calling on the international community to immediately step in and work on bringing such criminal and anti-humanitarian occupation policies to a standstill.
The ministry appealed for halting violence against the Palestinian people and for taking a tougher line against Israeli criminals, no matter their political

(FlotillaHyves update: Amal is still alive and taken to prison)
Amal Taqtaqa, 22, was shot and killed Monday in cold blood while on her way from Beit Fujar town to al-Khalil city center to prepare for her wedding planned to be held a few weeks later.
Israeli forces suddenly opened their machine-gun fire at the young woman after receiving a false alarm saying that she plans to carry out a stabbing attack.
Israeli settlers and soldiers have received orders to open fire at the entrance to Beit Fujar town in case of any suspicious attack. Unfortunately, Amal was walking alone at the meantime.
Eyewitnesses confirmed that a group of settlers and Israeli soldiers chased a young woman at the main road leading to the town before opening fire at her.
The young woman was hit with twenty bullets by Israeli soldiers and settlers and transferred in an Israeli ambulance vehicle to Haddasah hospital after preventing the Palestinian Red Crescent from reaching her after the shooting.
Shortly after the cold-blooded murder, Israeli and Arab media outlets published false information about the victim, claiming that she is an ex-detainee who had previously carried out a similar stabbing attack in the same place.
Amal’s family denied the media allegations, confirming that their girl was never been arrested.
Amal was on her way to the city's shopping center to prepare for her wedding a month later, the family clarified.
Large numbers of IOF soldiers raided Amal’s home a few hours after the gun-fire attack and arrested her father.
Israeli media outlets later published photos from the scene showed a wood-handled steak knife allegedly used as the attack weapon, and conducted interviews with the settler who claimed being injured during the attack.
However, eyewitnesses confirmed that the settler narrated a fabricated story.
The incident was carried out at the major crossroad near the Gush Etzion bloc that is located between al-Khalil and Bethlehem. The mentioned area is considered a hot spot where Palestinian citizens are usually arrested for allegedly being involved in stone-throwing attacks.
During the past two years, a big number of minors were nabbed in Beit Fujar town, while several military campaigns were carried out in the town.

The Alleged Wound Of The Israeli Settler
Israeli sources have reported, Monday, that a young Palestinian woman was shot and seriously wounded, at the Etzion settlement junction, south of the West Bank city of Bethlehem, allegedly after she stabbed a Israeli settler, causing a mild injury.
The young Palestinian woman has been identified as Amal Fakhri Taqatqa, 22 years of age, from Beit Fajjar town, near Bethlehem. Taqatqa is a former political prisoner.
The Palestinian woman was shot by at least four live rounds to different parts of her body, and was moved to the Hadassah Israeli Hospital, in occupied Jerusalem, suffering life-threatening wounds.
Eyewitnesses said the soldiers prevented Palestinian ambulances and medics from entering the area.
Israeli sources said the settler, 19 years of age, suffered a minor cut, and received treatment by Israeli medics at the scene, as his condition did not require hospitalization.
In related news, soldiers kidnapped a young Palestinian man, from the northern West Bank city of Nablus, allegedly after searching him and finding a concealed knife.
Local sources said the young man, 18 years of age, was trying to cross the Tapoah military roadblock. He was moved to an Israeli security center for interrogation.

The Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) notified the families of the murdered Palestinian youths, Ghassan and Udai, of intents to bury their bodies in the so-called Israeli cemeteries of numbers.
A letter sent to the families’ lawyer by Shaul Gordon, the general attorney of the Israeli occupation police, threatened to never return the bodies of the deceased youths and to withhold their bodies in an Israeli graveyard.
The letter further mentioned the IOA’s intents to knock down the homes of Udai and Ghassan’s families.
Such “exceptional” measures have allegedly been issued as a means to deter further anti-Israeli occupation attacks.
Earlier, the Israeli prosecutor general’s office on Monday transferred jurisdiction over appeals to return the bodies of Ghassan and Udai to the police's legal adviser.
Udai and Ghassan were killed by the Israeli police following a retaliation-attack on a Jewish synagogue in Occupied Jerusalem, an attack dubbed by historiographers as a natural retort and expected scenario to Israel’s terrorism on Palestinian civilians and Muslims’ holy shrines.

Ahmad Abdul-Rahman Sawafta 44
Medical sources reported, Sunday, that a Palestinian shepherd was killed when an Israeli explosive, dropped by the army during training, detonated near him in al-Marah area, close to Bardala village, in the Northern Plains of the occupied West Bank.
The sources said that Ahmad Abdul-Rahman Sawafta, age 44, was herding his cattle in the area when he accidentally stepped on the explosive.
His brother, Samer, told Al-Jazeera News Agency that Sawafta lost parts of his face and shoulder, due to the severity of the blast.
He added that Israeli soldiers stationed in the area provided first aid to his brother and moved him to the Rambam Israeli Hospital in Haifa, where he died of serious wounds.
Samer said that the area in question is a grazing land used by dozens of Palestinian shepherds, yet, the Israeli military constantly uses it for training using explosives and live fire, and that the army frequently invades Palestinian communities in the area during training.
The slain Palestinian is a married father of five children; he will be buried in his village, Bardala in the district of Tubas, on Monday.
The Israeli army repeatedly displaces Palestinian families in the area, sometimes for weeks, so that it can hold training using explosives and shells.
‘Aref Daraghma, head of the Wadi al-Maleh and Northern Plains Local Council, states that Israel continues to violate the basic rights of the Palestinians by constantly displacing them and using their communities as training grounds for the military, in addition to ongoing and escalating assaults carried out by extremist Israeli settlers.
Daraghma added that, on Saturday, a security officer of an illegal settlement in the area, and two other armed fanatic colonizers, chased a Palestinian shepherd, identified as Hilal ‘Adel Daraghma, and violently assaulted him, before holding him captive in Maskiot settlement.
Back in August, a Palestinian teenager was killed, and his brother was seriously injured, when an Israeli landmine detonated as they were herding the family sheep, east of Tammoun town, in the Northern Plains.
The slain teen has been identified as Mohammad Eshtayya, 17 years of age.

Fadel Mohammad Halawa 32
Palestinian medical sources have reported that a man was shot and killed by Israeli army fire, east of Jabalia, in the northern part of the Gaza Strip on Sunday. In addition, a Palestinian teen was shot and wounded by army fire in Rafah, southern Gaza.
Dr. Ashraf Al-Qedra, spokesperson of the Ministry of Health in Gaza, said the slain Palestinian is a famer who was working in his land close to the border fence.
He added that the 32-year-old Palestinian, identified as Fadel Mohammad Halawa, was shot in his back, and that the bullet exited through his abdomen. His body was moved to the Kamal ‘Adwan Hospital in Jabalia.
Eyewitnesses said that Israeli soldiers stationed on a military tower across the border fence, east of Jabalia, shot and killed Halawa, and targeted other Palestinians in the area. They said Halawa was hunting birds when the soldiers shot and killed him.
The Israeli military alleged that the soldiers fired “warning shots” at Palestinians who “approached the border fence”, adding that Palestinians did not heed the command and the army fired again, “wounding one in the legs”.
The army said that it is investigating the Palestinian claim that a man was killed in the shooting.
Halawa is the first Palestinian in Gaza to be killed by the Israeli army since the ceasefire agreement was reached three months ago, ending 50 days of intense violence and devestation in the region which saw over 2,000 people killed, most of whom were Gaza civilians.
In related news, a Palestinian teen, 17 years of age, was shot and injured by Israeli army fire in Rafah, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
The wounded teenager was moved to the Yousef an-Najjar Hospital, suffering a serious injury.

![]() Defense for Children International - Palestine has published a video analysis, conducted by Forensic Architecture, which identifies the Israeli soldier who shot and killed 17-year-old Nadim Nowarah six months ago, in the West Bank city of Beitunia.
According to WAFA Palestine News & Info Agency, DCI-Palestine said in a recent press release that “although Israeli authorities initially asserted that no live fire was used by soldiers during the May 15, 2014 protests, one border policeman, whose name has not been released, has since been arrested by Israeli police and faces manslaughter charges.” See 11/12/14 Israeli Policeman Arrested in Connection with Teen Killings |
DCI-Palestine noted that the arrest was made after it released a video footage from security cameras which captured the fatal shootings of Nowarah and 16-year-old Mohammad Abu Daher, as well as an autopsy’s ruling that a live bullet was the cause of Nowarah’s death.
The rights organization commissioned Forensic Architecture, a research agency which provides spatial and media analysis, to investigate video footage which captured the fatal shootings of Nowarah and Abu Daher. A team of architects, video and audio specialists analyzed the CCTV footage from the four security cameras, along with CNN released footage from the same incident to identify Nowarah’s shooter, “Soldier A”.
Forensic Architecture, WAFA reports, is funded by the European Research Council and hosted by the Center for Research Architecture at Goldsmiths, University of London.
The project consists of multidisciplinary spatial practitioners -- architects, artists and filmmakers -- who undertake architectural research within the framework of international humanitarian law and human rights. Their investigations have provided evidence for international prosecution teams, political organizations, NGOs and the United Nations.
