Israel: “Reconciliation With Turkey Enabled Us To Strike Syria

”Senior Israeli military and security officials stated that the reconciliation with Turkey, and the progressing relations between Ankara and Tel Aviv, enabled Israel, over the last few days, to carry out several air strikes against Syrian targets.
Israeli Yedioth Aharonoth quoted Israeli officials stating that the apology made by Prime Minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, for the death of nine Turkish activists on board the MV Marmara solidarity ship, on May 31 2010, allowed Israel to operate freely in the north without fearing a confrontation with Ankara.
The officials said that the reconciliation and good relations with Turkey would eventually lead to a future regional cooperation “against Iran and terrorist groups in the region”.
They also said that the current relations with Turkey also granted Israel an enormous international support regarding air strikes carried out, last Sunday and Thursday, against Syrian targets, especially U.S. and British support.
Meanwhile, Israeli media sources reported that Tel Aviv and Ankara are about to sign an agreement for financial compensation for the victims of the Israeli attack on MV Marara.
Furthermore, senior Israeli Foreign Ministry officials held a meeting, Monday, in an attempt to determine the amount of the proposed financial compensation.
The Israeli paper further reported that the meeting was described as positive, and that both parties managed to reach a draft agreement, but added that “there are other related issues that need to be addressed before the final deal is sealed.”
An Israeli official said that Israel estimates the compensation amount to reach five or six million USD, and in return, Turkey vows to void all lawsuits filed against Israeli military officials, and soldiers, involved in the attack and the death of the nine Turkish solidarity activists.
In addition, Turkey reportedly promised to approve an amendment that allows the Turkish government to prevent Turkish citizens from suing Israel or its soldiers in the future.

The Palestinian government in Gaza warned of the repercussions of the raid into Al-Aqsa Mosque by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) and settlers on Tuesday, noting that it "aims to ignite a religious war in the region."
Israeli soldiers, Likud party affiliates and 40 Jewish settlers, guarded by Israeli police, stormed on Tuesday Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Asbat Gate and the Mughrabi Gate, and attacked Palestinian female students there, wounding a number of them.
Dr. Ismail Radwan, Minister of Endowments and Religious Affairs in Gaza, has strongly condemned in a statement to Quds Press agency the raid into Al-Aqsa Mosque courtyards and the attack on worshipers, that aim to "Judaize Jerusalem and impose a fait accompli".
He warned of the seriousness of such attack, which provokes the Muslim feelings, and held the occupation fully responsible for the consequences of these events that "aim to ignite a religious war in the region", as he said.
"Al-Aqsa Mosque is in real danger, especially in light of the Arab and Islamic silence regarding the occupation crimes."
Dr. Radwan called on the Palestinians in 1948-occupied territories and the West Bank to intensify presence at the Aqsa Mosque to protect it and called on the Palestinian resistance to confront these Israeli repeated aggressions.
He also called on the Arab and Islamic leaders, the Arab League, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the nation's scholars to intervene to defend the holy mosque.
For its part; the Committee of Jerusalem and Al-Aqsa Mosque in the Legislative Council has also denounced the raid.
Ghassan al-Shami, the Committee's spokesman, said in a press statement on Tuesday that "the raid into Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Mughrabi gate and the attack on the worshipers are considered new crimes that provoke the feelings of all Muslims."
He called for confronting these Israeli incursions and the plans and plots against Jerusalem and Al Aqsa Mosque.

Israel used depleted uranium in airstrike on Syria: Report![]() A senior Syrian official says Israel has used depleted uranium in its recent airstrike against the Jamraya Research Center in the outskirts of Damascus.
The official, who was present near the attack site on Sunday morning, told Russia Today that Israel used "a new type of weapon" during the airstrike. “When the explosion happened, it felt like an earthquake,” the official, who asked not to be named, added. “Then a giant golden mushroom of fire appeared. This tells us that Israel used depleted uranium shells,” the Syrian official said. |
“Several civilian factories and buildings were destroyed. The target was just an ordinary weapons warehouse. The bombing is an ultimatum to us,” he added.
The Syrian official also refuted the claims by Western intelligence sources that the airstrike targeted transfers of weapons from the Lebanese resistance movement Hezbollah to Syria.
Jamraya Research Center had been targeted by another Israeli airstrike back in January.
The Sunday attack came shortly after Tel Aviv confirmed that its warplanes had hit another target in Syria on Friday.
On Saturday, US President Barack Obama said the Israeli regime has the right to launch airstrikes on Syria.
Syria’s Foreign Ministry has sent letters to the United Nations and its Security Council stating that Israel’s aggression shows the link between Tel Aviv and terrorist groups operating in Syria including the al-Qaeda-linked al-Nusra Front.
Meanwhile, the anti-Syria countries including Turkey and several Arab states in the region have been mum on Tel Aviv’s acts of aggression against Syria.

Israel preparing to launch another war against Gaza: Report

A Palestinian woman in Gaza stands in the rubble of her house destroyed in an Israeli attack
The Israeli army is reportedly preparing to launch another all-out war against the besieged Gaza Strip in a bid to eliminate Hamas resistance movement.
According to Israeli Walla website, the Israeli army is preparing to launch the Operation Pillar of Defense II against Gaza to stop rocket attacks from the Palestinian territory despite a significant decrease in their number.
The Israeli website said since the Israeli regime does not have confidence in the current peace in the southern part of Israel, it wants to launch another military offensive in Gaza to destroy Hamas military infrastructure.
It also added that the Israeli army will deploy more troops in the future war to prevent Hamas response.
Walla said Israel is determined to attack Gaza again since the democratically-elected government of Gaza has not changed its anti-Israeli stance and refuses to end resistance against Israeli occupation of the Palestinian lands.
Israel launched the so-called "Operation Pillar of Defense I" against Gaza in November 2012. Over 160 Palestinians, including women and children, were killed and about 1,200 others were injured and more than 1,500 targets were hit across the Palestinian enclave during the eight-day war.
In retaliation, Palestinian resistance fighters fired rockets and missiles into Israeli cities, killing at least five Israelis. The offensive ended after Egypt brokered a truce between Hamas and Israel.
According to a Hamas spokesman, Israel's eight-day aggression against the Gaza Strip caused more than USD1.2 billion in direct and indirect damages.
