Israeli settlers opened fire at Palestinians northwest of Ramallah late Sunday in the second such incident in hours, locals said.
Two settlers shot at nine men who were working in a quarry near the village of al-Mazraa al-Gharbiya, without causing injuries, the workers told Ma'an.
They said they noticed the settlers sneaking into the quarry and fled the scene as settlers opened fire with an automatic rifle.
After being chased for nearly two miles, the workers reached al-Mazraa al-Gharabiya unscathed, they told Ma'an.
The Palestinians identified themselves as Ismail al-Rajabi, 25, Momen Idriss, 24, Anas Idriss, 18, Yacoub Idriss, 20, Bilal Idriss, 20, Ahmad Jaber, 27, Wael al-Shalaldeh, 32, Mohammad Jaber, 23, and 10-year-old Abd al-Rahman Jaber.
An Israeli army spokeswoman did not immediately return calls seeking comment.

Israeli forces near Bethlehem on Friday raided the Ibdaa cultural center in the Duheisha refugee camp, the director of the center told Ma'an.
Soldiers "wrecked the center, broke the front door and other doors inside, confiscated five computers, a projector, and other appliances, and stole files, money, and checks and documents from the center's safe," Ibdaa director Khalid al-Seifi told Ma'an. "They ruined the desks and the trophies that the center's sports teams have won," al-Seifi added. He said he was handcuffed, blindfolded, and detained, along with other Palestinians at the entrance of the camp where clashes erupted. |

The Palestinian government condemned Israeli "aggression" against the Sebastiya archaeological site near Nablus on Sunday.
The Ministry of Tourism said in a statement that "over the last week, Israeli bulldozers have been conducting works on the site," which is primarily composed of Roman-era ruins.
In addition to the archaeological significance of the area, the ministry also noted the site's spiritual importance, as it is believed to be the site of the tomb of the John the Baptist by both Muslims and Christians.
"The works done by the illegal occupation forces are in breach of the UNESCO Convention Concerning the Protection of the World Cultural and Natural Heritage and the Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict with Regulations for the Execution of the Convention 1954," the statement said.
"These illegal attacks on sites within the State of Palestine are happening on a daily basis, from the judeization of Jerusalem to the destruction of cultural and natural heritage by the illegal annexation wall and the theft of archaeological findings from Herodion."
A large number of archaeological, historical, and religious sites in the occupied West Bank are under direct Israel control, and Israeli authorities often allow archaeological ruins found during digs in Palestinian areas to be sent to Israel.

The sources confirmed that Israeli troops confiscated a private car belonging to Muin Zahi Shabaro in the al-Marrikh neighborhood of Nablus. A computer and some cell phones were also confiscated.
Similarly, Ibrahim Ahmad Sabbah from the village of Urif south of Nablus told Ma'an that Israeli troops stormed his house at 1:00 a.m. and confiscated his minibus. He said that he was hired by al-Eiman kindergarten to drive kids to the kindergarten in the confiscated minibus. The soldiers also searched Sabbah's house thoroughly.
In Nablus, Palestinian security sources told Ma'an that Israeli soldiers ransacked several homes including the home of a Palestinian security officer Jabir Hawwash and the home of Mahmoud Salih.

Witnesses said Israeli troops used police dogs during inspections, and that soldiers did not wait until residents opened their doors and instead blew up their doors.
Eiman Ibrahim Subih was injured when soldiers blew up the main door of her family home in the village of Rakhama. Her brother Ahmad was detained during the raid.
In al-Ubayyat village, seven Israeli military vehicles along with infantrymen raided the village and broke into several homes. Locals confirmed that the homes of Suleiman Auda Uweida, his brothers Tariq and Muhammad, and his son Atif were stormed.
In Tuqu, local sources said Israeli forces stormed the homes of Murad Ayish al-Badan and caused severe damage to the interior of the house. Al-Badan said the soldiers confiscated 4,000 shekels ($1,200) from his home.

The sources said that Israeli military raids targeted the villages of Yaabad and Silat al-Harithiya as well.
An Israeli military spokeswoman said that nine were detained overnight, but did not know where the arrests had occurred.

Israeli soldiers opened fire Sunday morning at a Palestinian truck traveling in Beit Ummar north of Hebron in the southern West Bank, a local spokesman told Ma'an.
Muhammad Ayyad Awad of the Beit Ummar Committee against the Separation Wall and Settlements said that the truck was loaded with building stones when the Israeli military opened fire. Awad said that as the truck traveled near a local cemetery, Israeli soldiers stepped out of their military vehicles and opened fire at the truck. Awad said that the driver confirmed that the soldiers did not signal to him to stop whatsoever. |
The truck was headed to an industrial zone in Beit Ummar at the time of the incident.

Saker Burhan 19
Three Palestinian young men were shot dead yesterday evening and at dawn Sunday by Israeli soldiers in the Jordan Valley, Nablus and Ramallah. 19-year-old Saker Burhan was killed immediately after an Israeli soldier shot him in his chest, according to eyewitnesses.
Burhan was herding sheep in Al-Maleh area of the Jordan Valley when Israeli soldiers opened fire at him.
Medical sources said that the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) refused to hand over the body of the boy to Red Crescent paramedics.
In Nablus city, the IOF killed a young man during a campaign in Al-Ein refugee camp.
Local sources in Nablus reported that 36-year-old Ahmed Fahmawi was showered with bullets by Israeli soldiers as he was walking to a mosque in the camp to perform dawn prayers.
They added that the invading troops barred Palestinian paramedics from reaching the young man to help him and left him on the ground bleeding to death.

One of the most prestigious universities in the West Bank on Thursday condemned an Israeli raid on its campus, calling it a "blatant attack on the right to education" by occupation forces.
Israeli forces stormed the campus of Birzeit University north of Ramallah during an overnight raid early Thursday, ostensibly as part of the search for three missing Israeli teenagers that has led to the arrest of nearly 370 Palestinians and raiding of more than 1,000 homes and offices in the last week.
Calling the raid a "barbaric aggression on our people and national institutions," the university said in a statement that the "dangerous" attack was a "direct violation of the sanctity of our university."
"We deplore the conversion of its academic facilities to military barracks, as well as the confiscation of its student property, in addition to wiping out the eastern and western gates, searching parts of the Faculty of Science building and attempting to force open administrative offices," the statement continued.
"Birzeit University confirms that these attacks will not deter our commitment to higher education, and the pivotal role we have played since its establishment," the statement continued, adding: "The provocative measures taken by the Israeli occupation will only lead to a greater conviction and commitment of the university community, academics, staff and students, to the values of freedom, justice and democracy."

In Jenin, in the northern part of the West Bank, soldiers kidnapped four Palestinians in the Jenin refugee camp, searched several homes, and confiscated four computers and files from the office of the Islamic Relief.
They also confiscated student files from the Arab American University in Jenin, for the second consecutive day.
The Palestinians, kidnapped in Jenin refugee camp, have been identified as As’ad Mohammad Steity, Ashraf Mohammad al-Qaisy, 21, Yazan Adnan al-Hindi, 21, and Mohammad Sa’id Sweity.
Clashes have been reported between the invading soldiers and local youths, while medical sources said dozens of Palestinians suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation.
Media sources said the invasion resulted in at least twelve arrests in different parts of the Hebron District.

Soldiers also invaded Abu Njeim area, southeast of Bethlehem, and kidnapped two Palestinians identified as Ibrahim Mousa Salahat, and Wael Salim Salahat.
Also in Bethlehem, soldiers invaded the main office of an orphanage, confiscated computer and files, and withdrew later on, leaving excessive damage behind.

The sources said that dozens of soldiers invaded Hares village, near Salfit, and violently barged into the home of Hajj Jamil Ali Jaber, and assaulted him while shouting and ransacking his property, before the man collapsed and died of a heart attack.
One of his nephews stated that the soldiers prevented the family from moving Jabber to a local clinic in Hares nearby village.
Eyewitnesses said dozens of soldiers, accompanied by armored vehicles, invaded the village, before several soldiers assaulted resident Ali Jawdat, and his brother Jawad, fracturing the arm of Jawad.
