Hemaya: Israel's military assaults against Gazans continued last month
Picture
Hemaya center for human rights said Thursday that the Israeli occupation army violated the Egyptian-brokered truce agreement in the Gaza Strip several times during last November.

Last month, a Palestinian man was killed when Israeli soldiers opened fire at him during his presence in a border area inside Gaza, according to a report released by the center on Thursday.

The report pointed out that Israeli army notably intensified last month its gunfire attacks off the coast of Gaza, where 10 armed assaults had been reported on fishermen and their boats.

During the reporting month, two Israeli limited incursions took place, amid intensive gunfire, in Gaza border areas and nine Palestinian civilians suffered bullet wounds as invading Israeli troops opened fire indiscriminately on populated areas.

The center also said that the Israeli army kidnapped six Palestinians from Gaza during the same period and closed Karam Abu Salem crossing for seven days.

Child Shot by Israeli soldiers at checkpoint; Soldiers later claimed ‘she had a knife’
Picture
On Thursday evening, Israeli soldiers shot and injured a Palestinian child who was trying to cross the Qalandia terminal, north of occupied Jerusalem, allegedly for carrying a knife and “attempting to stab a soldier.”

Eyewitnesses told the Maan News agency that the child, Yathreb Salah Rayyan, 14 years of age, from Beit Doqqo village north of Jerusalem, was at least 30 meters away from the soldiers when they opened fire at her without warning.

They said Rayyan was shot by two live rounds, and that the soldiers also fired several gas bombs. According to Maan, the child was wearing a Borqa (headscarf), and apparently walked into the wrong lane headed toward the checkpoint.

She was walking towards the roadblock using a lane designated for cars, trucks and buses when the soldiers shot her.

The soldiers then prevented the residents from approaching her to offer help, and placed the child in a military jeep before driving towards Jerusalem.

Also in Jerusalem Thursday, soldiers kidnapped a Palestinian, 20 years of age, in the old bus station in Jerusalem, reportedly on suspicion that he took a gun left behind by a security guard in a bathroom stall.

The army claims that the man might have taken the gun, and hid it in a trash bin to retrieve it later; but provided no further information on the issue.

In related news, a young Palestinian man was shot, and injured in the lower part of his body, after Israeli soldiers fired rounds of live ammunition at Palestinians protesting at the main junction of Beit Doqqo village, west of the central West Bank city of Ramallah.

Local sources said the Palestinians were protesting to demand that the army reopen the junction that the soldiers sealed with concrete blocks more than a week ago.

Palestinian child loses sight after Israeli bullet hits him
Picture
10-year-old child Mahmoud Salah lost his right eye and 90% of his left eyesight after an Israeli bullet hit his face on his way to a nearby supermarket to buy pepper for his mother.

Talking exclusively to the Palestinian Information Center, Salah said: “I was on my way back home from school early in the morning. I could not attend class because the IOF (Israeli occupation forces) sealed off all entrances to al-Issawiya town. My mother asked me to get some pepper for the afternoon meal.”

“But on my way back home from the market, an Israeli occupation soldier caught sight of me as I walked downtown, and he fired at my face from a very close distance. I blacked out for a couple of days,” Salah added.

“I lost my right eye just a month later. Only 10% of my left eye-sight capacity has remained now,” he proceeded.

“The attack changed my entire life. It affected my academic career the way nothing else had ever done before. I miss my classes. I used to be one of the school’s laureates. Today this is no longer the case,” Salah lamented as he harked back to his schooldays and as his eyes shed the tear of nostalgia.

“I used to learn and play with my friends. I am very fond of hand-crafts. Just one day before I was wounded, I partook in a donors’ campaign for the victims of caner,” he recalled.

“Now my life has fallen apart. Consulting doctors, ophthalmologists and psychiatrists is all I wake up for every day,” he added.

Salah’s father resumed as his son wept bitterly: “I received the tragic piece of news at noontime when one of the members of the ambulance personnel who rushed Salah to al-Makasid hospital phoned me.”

“You’ve no idea about the kind of mess into which I fell as soon as medics reported to me Salah’s serious wounds. I’ve been told that his brain and eyes kept bleeding for hours and that he caught serious skull fractures.”

Salah has been transferred to Ein Karem hospital where he has undergone blood transfusion and two eye surgeries. He was placed for a couple weeks in intensive care until the doctors decided that he should go through an emergency operation to remove his right eye.”

Salah’s mother, who could not help her tears as she talked to the PIC said: “My son Salah wakes up every morning panic-stricken. He stays up late night for most of the time. My son cannot even have the lie-downs quite normally needed at his young age.”

“My son is very active. He loves socializing and has taken part in many shows. My child’s smile has gone forever now. These Israeli terrorists took away the happiness of my little child once and for all,” the mother bewailed.

36 Palestinians Injured In Shu’fat Refugee Camp

Two Palestinians injured by settler’s fire near Ramallah

Medical sources have reported that at least 36 Palestinians have been injured; one seriously, after dozens of Israeli soldiers invaded the Shu’fat refugee camp, in occupied East Jerusalem, and demolished a building that contained 20 stores.

The clashes in Shu’fat started after the soldiers demolished a large building, known as the Coca Cola building that contained 10 stores and 10 warehouses.

The building belongs to members of the Dajani family in occupied East Jerusalem.

Head of the Ras Khamis Development Committee in Shu’fat, Jamil Sandouqa, said the soldiers are trying to expand the military roadblock at the entrance of the camp.

Last year, the Israeli Supreme Court decided to remove the building and confiscate its land, for what it referred to as “security considerations.” The building was located right next to the Shu’fat military roadblock.

Amin Abu Ghazala, in charge of the Emergency Department Unit of the Red Crescent, has reported that 36 Palestinians have been injured; twelve of them by rubber-coated metal bullets, while one Palestinian suffered a serious injury in his eye, and was moved to the Hadassah Ein Karem Israeli Hospital, in Jerusalem.

He has been identified as Ammar Mohammad Ali, 21 years of age; local sources said he was standing in front of his meat shop.

A child was shot in the face, and a third Palestinian suffered a skull fracture; both were shot by rubber-coated metal bullets.

Abu Ghazala added that the soldiers stopped a Red Crescent Ambulance at the Qalandia Terminal, and confiscated its keys, while the medics were trying to move a wounded Palestinian to a hospital in Ramallah.

Dozens of residents suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation, while the soldiers used trucks to spray the residents, their homes and schools with waste-water mixed with chemicals, and fired gas bombs at schoolchildren.

Soldiers also placed concrete blocks in front of a building in the camp, occupied rooftops of several homes, and started firing at any resident walking in the streets after the army imposed curfew, forcing the entire refugee camp under house arrest.

A Palestinian identified as Nidal Fasfous, 35, was beaten by the soldiers who stopped his car, and detained him before violently assaulting and beating him causing a fracture in his nose, and various cuts and bruises to several parts of his body.

Eyewitnesses said the soldiers also deliberately fired rubber-coated metal bullets at Fasfous’s car, breaking its windshield, and several windows.

They added that the soldiers fired gas bombs and rubber-coated metal bullets at several shops, stores and homes.
The soldiers closed the Shu’fat roadblock, forcing the residents and cars to take an alternate road, through Hezma and ‘Anata, just to be able to enter the camp, and also installed a roadblock at the main entrance of ‘Anata.

Moreover, soldiers attempted to invade the Shu’fat Elementary School for Girls, run by the UNRWA, and fired gas bombs and concussion grenades at the students while trying to return home.

In related news, two Palestinians were shot by live rounds fired by an Israeli settler near the Beitello village, north west of the central West Bank city of Ramallah.

The two, identified as Ahmad Akram Ziyada, and Thabet Abdul-Karim Bazzar, have been moved to the Palestine Medical Center suffered moderate injuries.

Earlier Wednesday, a Palestinian child was shot and injured by a live round, fired by Israeli soldiers invading the ‘Askar refugee camp, in the northern West Bank district of Nablus; many residents suffered the effects of tear gas inhalation.

Palestinian fisherman seriously wounded in Israeli navy shooting
Picture
A Palestinian fisherman was seriously wounded in an Israeli navy shooting of projectiles on the Gaza City shores before noon Wednesday.

Nizar Ayyash, the chairman of the Palestinian fishermen syndicate, said that the 23-year-old fisherman Fakher Abu Riyala was hit with shrapnel of one of those projectiles in his head.

He added that Abu Riyala, who was fishing at the time of the incident, was hospitalized in serious condition.

The incident is the latest in a series of Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement signed with Palestinian resistance factions under Egyptian patronage on 26 August.

Palestinian youth wounded in IOF shooting

A Palestinian young man was wounded at dawn Wednesday in Asker refugee camp east of Nablus during an Israeli army raid on the camp and its vicinity.

Medical sources told the PIC reporter that Abdullah Subuh was hit with a rubber-coated bullet in his foot.

Eyewitnesses said that Israeli occupation forces’ patrols broke into the camp at dawn and the soldiers occupied rooftops of a number of houses overlooking the camp.

They added that young men threw stones and empty bottles on the troops who responded by firing rubber bullets, sound bombs and teargas canisters.

Meanwhile, other IOF patrols blocked school students and teachers from reaching their school in southern Nablus at the pretext that stones were thrown from the school at settlers’ cars on Tuesday.

Palestinian child kidnapped in Occupied Jerusalem
Picture
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Tuesday evening kidnapped a Palestinian child in the wave of clashes that rocked Jerusalem’s Jabal al-Mukabir.

A PIC journalist quoted local sources as reporting that the clashes broke out in Jabal al-Mukabir after the IOF showered the natives with randomly-shot spates of rubber bullets and tear gas canisters.

Scores of Palestinian civilians sustained gas injuries after the invading IOF troops targeted the mourning tents of the two Palestinian youths, Udai and Ghassan, shot dead by the IOF a couple of weeks earlier, with heavy barrages of tear gas.

Sources based in Occupied Jerusalem said special Israeli units nabbed the 12-year-old child Mohamad Abdul Salem Abdah while he was standing in front of his family home and heavily beat him up moments before they dragged him to a nearby detention center.

Tension has been running high in Occupied Jerusalem after the Israeli occupation authorities rejected all appeals to return back the bodies of Udai and Ghassan Abu al-Jamal.

The IOF soldiers have come down heavily on the natives and sealed off all entrances to the neighborhood with cement roadblocks and flying checkpoints.

Another round of violent clashes with the IOF has reportedly burst out in Ein Al-Louza neighborhood in Silwan.

In a related development, the IOF threatened to demolish three Palestinian homes in Yatta, in the southern West Bank city of al-Khalil, under pretext of unlicensed construction, coordinator of the anti-settlement committee, Rateb al-Jabour, reported.

He further voiced concerns over Israeli intents to demolish the newly founded al-Majaz school after the IOF stormed the quarter and took multi-dimensional snapshots of the institution.

Along the same line, a gang of the Israeli Hafat Maoun settlers on Tuesday attempted to raid Palestinian homes in al-Tuwani hamlet, east of Yatta.

Al-Jabour said such ongoing assaults are carried out under the back-up and in the presence of the Israeli occupation soldiers as part of a pre-planned scheme aimed at forcing Palestinians out of their native lands and speeding up the pace of Israeli illegal settlement building.

IOF soldiers open fire at Palestinian residential neighborhoods in southern Gaza
Picture
Israeli occupation forces (IOF) opened machinegun fire at Palestinian residential neighborhoods in the southern Gaza Strip district of Khan Younis on Tuesday morning.

A field observer told Quds Press that the IOF shooting focused on the eastern areas of Khan Younis city.

He pointed out that the shooting was coupled with intensive over flights of reconnaissance planes.

The shooting is the latest violation of the Egyptian-brokered truce between Israel and Palestinian resistance factions in late last August.

Israeli assaults across W.Bank, Jerusalem culminate in arrest of 11 Palestinians
Picture
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Monday afternoon rounded up a number of Palestinian workers and civilians in a round of assaults launched across the West Bank and Occupied Jerusalem.

By-standers at the scene said the IOF targeted Palestinian workers with heavy barrages of gunfire randomly unleashed near the Jabara military checkpoint, south of Tulkarem.

The attack culminated in the arrest of seven Palestinian workers, all were taken to an unknown location.

Local sources said the targeted workers were captured while they were striving to make their way into 1948 Occupied Palestine in search of job opportunities.

The IOF summoned military reinforcement and sealed off the area with makeshift roadblocks.

In a related development, the IOF rounded up a 22-year-old Palestinian young man at a flying checkpoint randomly pitched at the main entrance to Sa’ir twon, north of al-Khalil city.

The IOF reportedly showered the Aroub refugee camp, to the north of al-Khalil city, with waves of tear gas canisters and sound bombs, sources based at the camp reported.

A state of panic prevailed among children and women at the camp following a round of combing operations launched by the IOF troops.

Meanwhile Jerusalemite sources said the Israeli Nahshon infantry unit kidnapped three relatives of the Palestinian prisoner Omar Abassi during a hearing at an Israeli occupation court.

Along the same line, a Palestinian taxi driver was rushed to hospital to be urgently treated for wounds sustained in a gas attack executed by an Israeli fanatic settler in King George Street, in Occupied Jerusalem.

Israeli army attacks Gaza border areas, fishing boats
Picture
The Israeli occupation army on Sunday evening opened machinegun fire at populated border areas in Qarara town, northeast of the Gaza district of Khan Younis, while its navy attacked Gazan fishermen.

The gunfire attacks caused no casualties among civilians, local sources told the Palestinian information center (PIC).

The sources reported that Israeli troops got out of their armored jeeps in the south of Kissufim military post, east of Qarara town, and embarked on opening fire intensively and indiscriminately at border areas inside Gaza.

Meanwhile, the Israeli navy also opened fire on fishing boats in Gaza sea while fishing within the six-nautical miles.

The gunfire incident took place near the coast of Beit Lahiya, north of Gaza.

In a new incident reported on Monday morning, the Israeli navy opened fire heavily at fishing boats off the coast of Rafah area in southern Gaza, with no reported casualties.

It was not the first time, such incidents happened. The Israeli army and its naval forces had violated the Egyptian-brokered ceasefire agreement with the Palestinians in Gaza several times before.

Several Palestinians wounded in yesterday's clashes with IOF in Issawiya
Picture
A number of Palestinian young men suffered injuries on Sunday evening during violent clashes with the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) in the district of Issawiya, east of occupied Jerusalem.

Local sources said that the clashes started after Israeli troops stormed the district, affirming that about nine young men suffered rubber bullet injuries and many others breathing difficulties after inhaling tear gas.

The confrontations became more heated when the invading troops detained a seven-year-old child.

Later, the police released the child and the troops found themselves forced to withdraw from the area of events, but they were still encircling the district.

Jerusalem has been witnessing for months escalating tension and Palestinian popular outrage, mainly fueled by Israel's illegal measures at the Aqsa Mosque.

In another context, nine Palestinians were either killed in November by Israeli soldiers or died of severe wounds sustained during the last war on Gaza, according to a recent report by Ahrar center for prisoner studies and human rights.

The report added that during the last month, the Israeli security and military forces kidnapped or detained 650 Palestinians, 30 of them from occupied Jerusalem and the others from different West Bank areas.

Among the detainees, there are 17 women, and 42 children and minors under age 18.
