Dozens of Palestinian civilians were injured on Monday evening when the Israeli occupation forces opened fire at Palestinians demonstrating peacefully on northern Gaza coast.
Gaza Ministry of Health said that 93 demonstrators were injured, 37 of whom by live ammunition, adding that ambulances were also attacked with gunfire and teargas canisters.
The tenth Freedom Flotilla launched from the Gaza Strip on Monday left Gaza port heading toward Israeli-controlled water in an effort to break the siege imposed on the coastal enclave for 12 years now.
The PIC reporter said that thousands of Palestinian citizens demonstrated peacefully on the coast north of Gaza to support the flotilla, which is part of the ongoing Great March of Return activities, and to demand lifting the siege.
Khader Habib, a member of the Higher National Committee for the Great March of Return and Breaking the Siege, said that Gaza border protests will continue until they achieve their goals.

The latest figures provided by the Ministry of Health (MoH) indicate that, during the demonstrations between the 10th and 22nd of September, ten Palestinians, including four children, were killed and 1,193 were injured by Israeli forces.
Out of the total 1,193 injured, 690 patients required transfer to the MoH hospitals or NGO clinics, including 127 children and 37 females. Of the hospitalized injured, 19 cases were critically life threatening, 275 moderate, 386 mild, and the remaining 10 were unspecified cases (see also figures 1 and 2 on the following page).
The MoH and the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) set up a total of ten Trauma Stabilization Points (TSPs), with the tenth one established at the beach north of Gaza. At least 503 injured patients were managed at the TSPs and discharged at the TSPs. The World Health Organization (WHO) continues to strengthen the capacity of the TSPs, across Gaza, to provide life-saving interventions.
According to the PNN, Gaza’s 14 public hospitals rely on donated fuel to run generators during the electricity black-outs, which continue to last up to 18-20 hours per day. The last batch of UN donated fuel has been distributed during August of 2018. Local authorities have since procured 120,000 litres, and a charity organization (Human Appeal International) has provided 10,500 litres, to sustain services at public hospitals throughout the month of September.
Nevertheless, hospitals are rationalizing the use of the remaining fuel reserves by suspending sterilization, laundry, cleaning, catering and selected diagnostic services during electricity cuts.
On 17 September the Humanitarian Coordinator (HC), announced the release of US$1.0 million from the humanitarian fund for fuel procurement. This support will ensure uninterrupted electricity supply for up to 250 critical health and water and sanitation facilities for a period of up to 6-7 weeks.
In August of 2018, the Central Drug Store of the MoH in Gaza reported 47% of essential drugs, at less than one month’s supply, and 40% completely depleted. 30% of essential disposables were at less than one month’s supply.

Dr. Abdullah al-Qishawi, the head of the Kidney Branch at the Shifa Medical Center in Gaza, has warned that the lives of 425 Palestinian patients, including children, who require kidney dialysis, is at a serious risk due to the ongoing Israeli siege on the Gaza Strip.
Dr. al-Qishawi stated that the Israeli embargo is preventing essential medications and equipment from entering the Gaza Strip, despite the repeated urgent calls and appeals by the Health Ministry to the international community.
He stated that the patients require the dialysis sessions regularly, including those who are scheduled to receive kidney transplant, and have gone through all required preparations, including special medications.
Dr. al-Qishawi added that there are 54 patients who started receiving medications ahead of scheduled kidney transplant surgeries, and are now at risk of serious complications, including death.
Furthermore, Dr. al-Qishawi stated that the serious shortage of medications is compounded by the ongoing power blackouts in the coastal region, and impact the quality of kidney dialysis machines, while the Israeli siege is also preventing the entry of spare parts needed to keep them running.
He said that even when just one machine stops working, the patients are the ones who suffer the consequences, and face serious complications, which would likely lead to death, adding that there are 425 patients in the Gaza Strip, who have kidney failure, and completely depend on dialysis.

Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Monday issued a stop-construction order against a Palestinian facility in Kardala village in the Jordan Valley.
Activist Aref Daraghmeh said that the IOF ordered a halt to the construction of a medical and social services complex in Kardala village.
The IOF constantly targets Palestinian families living in the Jordan Valley with demolition and displacement in an attempt to pressure them to leave the area which is known of its importance on the strategic, agricultural and military levels.

It added that the medics also provided the needed treatment to many Palestinians, who suffered the effects of teargas inhalation.
The soldiers also fired live rounds at a Palestinian ambulance, belonging to the Palestinian Medical Relief Society (PMRS), smashing its windshield, and mildly wounding two medics, identified as Jareer Qandil and Amir al-Bizra.
The incident took place after dozens of soldiers accompanied many buses, carrying Israeli colonialist settlers to visit “Joseph’s Tomb,” in Nablus.
The colonialist settlers started dancing and chanting provocatively near the shrine.
Joseph’s Tomb is revered by Jews, Muslims, Christians and Samaritans, but Israel prevents the Palestinians from entering the site, although the shrine is located in an area under control by the Palestinian Authority.
Palestinians generally hold that the tomb is the funerary monument to Sheikh Yusef Dweikat, a local religious figure.

Gaza Ministry of Health on Saturday warned that al-Shifa Hospital may shut down soon due to the depletion of fuel used to operate alternative generators during power outage.
The Ministry last week warned that health services would be suspended in Beit Hanoun and Abu Yousef al-Najjar hospitals, in northern and southern Gaza respectively, for the same reason.
The Ministry in a statement called on donor countries and international organizations to urgently intervene to regularly provide adequate amounts of fuel to Gaza hospitals to keep their services running.
"If the fuel crisis continues, we may reach a stage where services are completely halted at al-Shifa Hospital," spokesman for the Ministry of Health Ashraf al-Qedra told Anadolu Agency.
Based on official statistics, Gaza hospitals need 450,000 liters of fuel per month to operate generators during power outages that last for 8-12 hours a day, and they need 950,000 liters per month during 20-hour power outages.

Three Palestinians, including a child, were killed on Friday when the Israeli occupation forces attacked Gaza border protests with live ammunition and teargas canisters.
According to Gaza Ministry of Health, the martyrs were identified as Shadi Abdulal, 12, Hani Afana, 21, and Mohammed Shaqoura, 21.
About 250 Palestinians, including 18 children and two medics, suffered different injuries, the Ministry said.
Thousands of Palestinians on Friday afternoon took part in the protests of the 25th Friday of the Great March of Return under the slogan "resistance is our choice".
The PIC reporter said that the protesters burned dozens of car tires in an effort to block the view of Israeli snipers.
Higher National Committee for the Great March of Return and Breaking the Siege said that this Friday's protests were organized under the slogan "resistance is our choice" to confirm the Palestinian people's rejection of the Oslo Accords and the US-backed Deal of the Century.
The Great March of Return was launched on 30th March in five camps installed along Gaza's border with the 1948 occupied Palestinian territories.
The march mainly calls for lifting the 12-year-long blockade on Gaza, and for allowing Palestinian refugees to return to their lands from which they were expelled in 1948 as stipulated by UN resolutions, particularly Resolution 194 which provides for return or compensation.
Since Gaza border protests started, 184 Palestinians have been killed, 27 of whom are children, and over 19,000 injured by the Israeli army.
