Minister of Health, Mai Alkaila, confirmed today 11 more case of COVID-19 (coronavirus) in the West Bank, bringing up the total cases in Palestine to 625.
She said 10 of the 11 cases were in the villages of Azzun Atma and Sanniriya, in Qalqailia Governorate, for people who came into contact with a COVID-19 patient. She pointed out that four of them were below the age of 18.
Earlier, Alkaila announced that a 36-year-old man from the town of Beit Ula, in Hebron Governorate, tested positive for COVID-19, after he came into contact with a patient with COVID-19.

The first coronavirus case in the northern West Bank in weeks was confirmed this morning, raising the total number of confirmed cases in Palestine 614, according to Health Minister Mai Alkaila.

An old woman has died of Coronavirus in the Gaza Strip marking the first death of the virus in the besieged enclave, the ministry of health in the Strip reported on Saturday.
Ashraf al-Qudra, the ministry’s spokesman in Gaza, said that 77-year-old Fadila Abu Reida had died of the Coronavirus at the Rafah border crossing's isolation hospital.
He said that the deceased was also suffering from chronic illness and that her burial would be in accordance with standard protocols in that case.
The ministry also announced that there were no new cases of the virus in the Strip over the past 24 hours.

Minister of Health Mai Alkaila said that by yesterday, and with the recording of two new COVID-19 cases in Beit Aula village, in the southern West Bank Hebron governorate, the total number of recent cases in the village stands at 13, all recorded in the last two days.

Egyptian authorities will open Rafah border crossing for three days this week to allow Palestinians stranded in Egypt to return to the Gaza Strip.
The Palestinian embassy in Cairo said in a statement that it was informed by the Egyptian authorities that the crossing will be opened for three days starting Tuesday.
Salama Ma’rouf, head of Gaza’s government office, said that 1000-1500 Palestinians are expected to return to the Gaza Strip in the coming days.
Rafah crossing has been shut down since mid-March as part of precautionary measures to contain the spread of the novel coronavirus in the besieged Gaza Strip.

Israeli soldiers apparently not happy with the sight of a Palestinian flag attacked a post set up by local volunteers to check people for coronavirus in the village of Khillet al-Mayeh, in Masafer Yatta in the south of the West Bank, according to local activist.
Activist Rateb Jabour, from the Anti-Wall, Anti-Settlements Popular Committee in Yatta, told WAFA that the soldiers attacked the post in an attempt to remove a Palestinian flag raised at the post.
The volunteers confronted the soldiers and prevented them from interfering in their work or removing the flag, he said.
