A Palestinian was killed while over 1,000 were injured after being shot by the Israeli occupation forces (IOF) near Gaza's eastern border on the seventh Friday of the Great March of Return.
Gaza's Ministry of Health said that the Palestinian citizen Jaber Abu Mustafa, 40, died after being shot in the chest east of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip.
Spokesman for the Ministry Ashraf al-Qedra said that 34 medics were injured and four ambulances were partially destroyed after being targeted by the IOF gunfire during the protests. Video
The Ministry of Health said in a statement that the IOF snipers deliberately targeted journalists and children on the seventh Friday of the Great March of Return.
The PIC reporter said that several dunums of settler farmlands behind the border fence were burned by flaming kites launched by Palestinian youths taking part in the marches.
According to the PIC reporter, preparations are underway by the Higher National Committee for the March of Return and Breaking the Siege to install new tents near the border fence ahead of the massive demonstrations expected next week to mark the 70th anniversary of the Palestinian Nakba.
Member of the Committee Ismail Ridwan told Quds Press that the protests will continue until they achieve their goals.
The Palestinians in the Gaza Strip on 30th March launched a peaceful protest movement called the Great March of Return to demand their right of return and pressure Israel to lift the blockade imposed on them for over a decade now. The protests are expected to reach their peak on 15th May.
So far 53 peaceful protesters have been killed, six of whom are being detained by the IOF, and over 8,000 injured.

Israeli soldiers injured, Friday, at least fifteen Palestinians with live fire, and caused dozens to suffer the effects of teargas inhalation shortly after the weekly Great March of Return started near the border fence, in the northern and eastern parts of the Gaza Strip.
Medical sources said the soldiers instantly resorted to the excessive use of force, and fired dozens of live rounds, wounding at least fifteen Palestinians.
They added that the Palestinians, who were shot with live fire, were rushed to local hospital, suffering moderate-but-stable injuries.
Dozens of Palestinians, including medics and journalists, suffered the effects of teargas inhalation, and received the needed treatment.
In addition, an Israeli army sharpshooter shot a young man, just as he flew balloons carrying the colors of the Palestinian flag, east of the Zeitoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza city, wounding him in the leg, before he was rushed to the Shifa Medical Center.

Head of International Committee of Red Cross (ICRC) sub-delegation in Gaza, Gilan Devorn, has called on Israeli occupation authorities to respect and ensure the unimpeded functioning of medical services for the wounded and sick.
In a statement on Saturday, Devorn expressed his deep regret over an incident in which a medic from the Red Crescent was wounded by Israeli fire while performing his work in the north of the Gaza Strip.
“Today, a medic at the Palestinian Red Crescent Society was shot while he was evacuating a wounded man in the border area.
We look into the circumstances surrounding the incident, but the medic was clearly visible, wearing the Palestinian Red Crescent vest standing near the ambulance. Such incidents must stop,” he said, according to Al Ray Palestinian Media Agency.
“With the increasing violence, ensuring that medical services for wounded and sick are unimpeded is extremely important. The PRCS has worked courageously and tirelessly to fulfill its humanitarian mission,” he added.
As part of its work, the ICRC acts as a neutral intermediary and [is] keen to conduct a public dialogue with all relevant authorities and security forces, in order to minimize the impact of the current events on civilians, and to maintain a humanitarian space that enables medical personnel to work safely.”

Head of the Popular Committee Against the Siege Jamal al-Khudari on Monday called on Arab Red Crescent societies and concerned international organizations to urgently send medical aid to Gaza to save its collapsing health sector.
Al-Khudari said in statements that Gaza hospitals have unprecedentedly run out of 50% of much-needed drugs and medical supplies.
Al-Khudari pointed out that 80% of the Gaza Strip residents live below the poverty line with $2 per capita daily income, adding that food insecurity rate in the besieged enclave has reached 60%.
He said that over a quarter of a million Gazan workers are currently unemployed, noting that about one million refugees live on limited aid from UNRWA which is suffering from accumulated fiscal deficit due to US and Israeli pressures.
The Palestinian official continued to say that 25% of the homes that were completely destroyed during the 2014 Israeli offensive on Gaza have not been reconstructed yet because of the lack of funding and building materials.
Moreover, according to al-Khudari, 95% of Gaza's water is undrinkable, while the two million residents of the besieged territory suffer from power outages that last for 18-20 hours a day.

Gaza's Ministry of Health on Saturday warned that it is suffering from an unprecedented medical deficit.
Spokesman for the Ministry Ashraf al-Qedra said that the Ministry is facing the biggest drug shortage in 11 years after Gaza hospitals and medical centers have run out of 50% of essential drugs and medical supplies especially those related to emergencies.
Al-Qedra explained that this is the result of the Israeli violent targeting of peaceful protesters in the Great March of Return.
So far 46 Palestinians have been killed and over 7,000 injured, some of whom seriously, after being deliberately targeted by Israeli gunfire while taking part in the Great March of Return near Gaza's eastern border.

Thousands of Palestinians gathered at the Gaza-Israel border today in several locations in the north, east and south of Gaza, for the fifth week of Friday protests.
Three Palestinians were killed today, and 611 injured by Israeli forces stationed at the border firing both live ammunition and so-called ‘less-than-lethal’ weaponry.
Of the 611 wounded, 154 were struck by live ammunition fired by Israeli soldiers at the border. No Israeli soldiers were wounded.
According to Ashraf al-Qidra of the Palestinian Ministry of Health, 18 medics and medical personnel were among those wounded on Friday.
al-Qidra added that Israeli forces specifically targeted medical service points twice with an unidentified gas east of the al-Bureij refugee camp in central Gaza. This appeared to be a new type of gas that caused those who inhaled it to suffer from severe convulsions. A number of these victims had to be hospitalized.
The demonstration is called the ‘Great Return March’, and is meant to bring attention to the fact that millions of Palestinians are imprisoned in the Gaza Strip, unable to return to their homes in what is now Israel.
Palestinians make up the largest refugee population on earth.
Israeli troops again opened fire on the unarmed protesters, as they have done each Friday since the protests began on march 30th.
Since March 30th, Israeli forces have killed forty three Palestinian protesters, and wounded more than five thousand.
An international outcry against the continued shooting of civilian protesters has not reached the US, where politicians have been largely silent on the issue.
Irish and South African politicians have been leading the call for justice for Palestinians, calling the Israeli government an ‘apartheid state’ much like South Africa in the 1980s.
In response to Israel’s fifth straight week of attacking unarmed demonstrators at the border, the UN Commissioner for Human Rights, Zeid Ra’ad al-Hussein, issued a statement that, “The loss of life is deplorable, and the staggering number of injuries caused by live ammunition only confirms the sense that excessive force has been used against demonstrators – not once, not twice, but repeatedly”.

Gaza hospitals can no longer accommodate or provide surgeries for many patients and wounded citizens after they received scores of citizens who suffered injuries during recent protests in border areas.
According to the General administration of hospitals, 4,000 scheduled surgical operations have been postponed due to the heavy pressure on operating rooms and accommodation departments in the health ministry’s hospitals.
Director of the general administration Abdul-Latif al-Hajj said this problem was caused by the large number of citizens transferred to hospitals following their suffering from bullet injuries during their participation in March of Return protests on the eastern border of Gaza.
Hajj added that hospitals also failed to conduct minor surgeries for many patients who only need swift medical care.
