Another case of coronavirus case was reported tonight in the southern West Bank biblical city of Bethlehem, which brings the total in Palestine to 30, said the government spokesman Ibrahim Melhem.
He said that the 30th case is for a man in his 30s who seem to have contracted the disease through interaction with infected ones.
Earlier today three cases also tested positive to the corona tests.
Those infected with the disease include a two-year-old baby girl and a pregnant woman in her 20s, along with a 16-year-old boy.
Most of the cases are kept at Angel Hotel in Beit Jala and at the National Center in Bethlehem, while 13 cases are kept in quarantine at their homes.
Only one of the cases is in the northern West Bank city of Tulkarm while the rest are in Bethlehem.

The health of a coronavirus case in Bethlehem has stabilized following deterioration, government spokesman Ibrahim Melhem said today.
He said medical reports from doctors looking after the case and who was admitted to the National Rehabilitation Center in Bethlehem for treatment has improved and is now reported in stable condition.
This was the first case in the 26 reported cases in Palestine where an infected person has suffered a downtrend in his health. The rest reportedly remain in good health.
Melhem also said that no new cases were reported so far in the Palestinian territories,which currently stand at 25 in Bethlehem and one in Tulkarm, despite the fact that dozens of cases are currently being tested while the majority turn out negative.

The Palestinian government confirmed today discovery of five new cases of coronavirus in Palestine, four of them in Bethlehem and one, for the first time, in the northern West Bank city of Tulkarm.
This brings the total so far in Palestine to 25, with Bethlehem having 24 of the cases.
The Bethlehem four were in contact with those previously infected with the disease, and the Tulkarm case is a worker in Israel, according to the government spokesman.

The 20th case of coronavirus in Palestine was confirmed today in the isolated city of Bethlehem, said government spokesman Ibrahim Melhem.

The United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) and the Government of Japan have joined efforts on a project that aims to procure and deliver urgently needed essential drugs and medical consumables for Al Makassed Hospital in Jerusalem with the award of a new grant under Japan’s supplementary budget.
“The Government of Japan decided to extend the financial assistance to Al-Makassed Hospital due to the very important role that the hospital played as a main referral hospital which receives patients not only from Jerusalem and West Bank but also from Gaza,” said Masayuki Magoshi, Ambassador for the Palestinian Affairs and Representative of Japan to Palestine.
He added, “UNOPS is one of our important partners to implement humanitarian assistance targeting the health and the protection of IDPs and refugees in Palestine.”
The support from UNOPS and Japan to Al Makassed Hospital throughout the 12 months project, will ensure that urgently needed essential drugs and medical consumables are available for around 1,350 patients (at least 50% female) seeking health services at Al Makassed Hospital.
On this occasion, Tokumitsu Kobayashi UNOPS Director in Palestine expressed, “UNOPS is committed to working hand-in-hand with the government of Japan in its efforts to deliver necessary drugs and medical supplies that will enable Al Makassed Hospital to provide uninterrupted healthcare".

The ministry of health said that the number of people who have been infected with the Coronavirus has risen to 19 in the Bethlehem district, in the southern West Bank.
Three people who came in contact with the infected cases at Angel Hotel in Bethlehem were tested positive and placed in quarantine, said the ministry.
It said tests were conducted until today on 500 people suspected of contracting the disease but all turned out negative.
It said 32 others are kept in a quarantine at Angel Hotel in Bethlehem, the same hotel were the confirmed 16 cases of coronavirus are kept, and 15 others at Paradise Hotel also in Bethlehem where infected tourists seem to have been.

Minister of Health, Mai Kaileh, confirmed today that nine more people were tested positive for coronavirus in Bethlehem, south of the West Bank, bringing up the total number of cases in Palestine, mainly in Bethlehem Governorate, to 16.

The Health Ministry Friday announced that it has tested 51 suspected Coronavirus cases in Jericho city and that they were all negative.
Spokesman for Health Ministry Tarif Ashour confirmed that Ministry’s medical teams tested the samples of 51 suspected Covid-19 patients at Jericho Resort Village, where a group of Greek tourists stayed during a tour in late February, and the test results turned out to be negative.
He added that teams of the Ministry’s Central Lab continue to test scores of samples for suspected cases from various districts.
This came after a total of seven Palestinians from Bethlehem have tested positive for the virus. The seven worked at a hotel near Bethlehem, where the same group of Greek tourists stayed during their tour of the Palestinian territories and Israel.
Media reports said that 23 Greek tourists among the group tested positive for the virus after returning to their country.
The hotel, located in Beit Jala city, has been placed under lockdown and designated as a quarantine site.
Designating the hotel as such was among the series of emergency procedures announced by the government, an announcement which came on the heels of President Mahmoud Abbas’ declaration of a month-long state of emergency in the occupied territories to fight the outbreak of coronavirus (COVID-19).
