Three people have died from coronavirus, 498 new cases were recorded and 112 people have recovered in Palestine in the last 24 hours, today said Minister of Health Mai Alkaila.
She said in the daily briefing on the corona pandemic in Palestine that two of the deaths were reported earlier in Hebron and Nablus and the third in East Jerusalem, which raises the total deaths in Palestine to 119.
Of the new cases, East Jerusalem remains the highest with 179 new cases, where 106 of the recoveries were recorded, followed by the Hebron district in the south of the West Bank with 104 new cases, then Nablus district with 91 cases, Tulkarm 36, Bethlehem 32, and Ramallah 28.
Alkaila said that 59.9 percent of the cases have recovered while active one stood at 39.5 percent, adding that 55 patients are currently in intensive care, among them five are on respirators.

An elderly Palestinian man said to be 85 years of age from the Hebron district in the south of the West Bank has died of coronavirus this morning, according to the Ministry of Health.
It said the elderly man was suffering from chronic diseases.

Palestine Friday recorded 531 confirmed novel coronavirus cases and one fatality in the last 24 hours.
Health Minister Mai al-Kaileh announced in a press statement that 531 Palestinians tested positive for the highly contagious virus and another died of it in the last 24 hours.
Among the 531 confirmed cases, 168 cases were recorded in Hebron district, 11 others in Nablus district, 25 others in Bethlehem district, 44 others in Qalqilia district, 34 others in Ramallah and al-Bireh district, another in Jenin district, four others in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, four others in Salfit district, another in Tubas district, another in Gaza and 238 others in Jerusalem district.
Al-Kaileh identified the latest fatality as a 72-year-old ailing woman from Hebron city.
Besides, al-Kaileh pointed out that 260 COVID-19 patients recovered from the virus in the last 24 hours.
Among the 260 recovery cases, 170 cases were recorded in Hebron district, 12 others in Nablus district, 14 others in Jenin district and 64 others in Jerusalem district.
She pointed out that 20 COVID-19 cases are still in the intensive care units, including five who are connected to respirators.
According to the latest coronavirus data, the confirmed cases in the occupied territories (West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and Gaza) reached 21,056.
Out of the 21,056 cases, 15,752 are recorded in the West Bank, 82 in the Gaza Strip and 5,222 in East Jerusalem.
Recoveries have totaled 12,796, including 3,414 in Jerusalem, and the death toll reached 116, leaving a total of 8,144 active cases.

An eight-year-old child from the town of Idna, in the southern West Bank Hebron district, has died last night after contracting coronavirus, said the Ministry of Health.
It said the boy was suffering from asthma and congenital heart defects.

The Palestinian Authority’s Ministry of Health on Tuesday said that 3 COVID-19 (coronavirus) deaths, 476 new cases, and 345 recoveries have been recorded in the Palestinian areas over the past 24 hours.
Palestinian Minister of Health Mai al-Kaila said in a press statement that three deaths were reported in al-Khalil, Bethlehem, and Ramallah.
According to al-Kaila, the new COVID-19 cases are distributed as the following: 182 in al-Khalil, 17 in Nablus, 28 in Bethlehem, 13 in Qalqilya, 44 in Ramallah and al-Bireh, 6 in Jenin, 12 in Jericho and the Jordan Valley, 3 in Salfit, 7 in Tulkarem, 172 in Jerusalem, and 3 in the Gaza Strip.
Although the number of new cases is still on the rise, the rate of recovery from coronavirus infections has seen an increase reaching 57%, the minister confirmed.
Meanwhile, there are 21 patients in critical condition receiving treatment in intensive care units.

Alkaila said 189 new corona cases were recorded in the Hebron governorate, where 57 have recovered, and 165 in East Jerusalem, where 445 patients have recovered.
She said 24 patients are currently in intensive care, three of them are on respirators.

Minister of Health Mai al-Kaileh confirmed today 277 new cases of coronavirus and 239 recoveries in the occupied West Bank, registered during the past 24 hours.
Al-Kaileh said in a statement that 172 of the new cases were in Hebron, 23 in Bethlehem, 36 in Jerusalem, 25 in Ramallah, 12 in Nablus, five in Qalqilia, and four in Tulkarm.
Meanwhile, she pointed out that 105 recoveries were registered in Hebron, 49 in Jericho, 38 in Jenin, 25 in Nablus, 14 in Tulkarm, and eight in Qalqilia.
Al-Kaileh added that the overall recovery rate has reached 55.1 percent of the total infections, while active cases represented 44.3 percent of the total cases registered so far. Deaths stood at 0.6 percent of the total.
She said 14 patients are currently placed in intensified care, of whom three are on respirators.
