The Islamic Resistance Movement, Hamas, confirmed on the sixth anniversary of Al-Furqan Battle that it will keep working on developing the resistance weapons.
The Movement said in a statement issued on Saturday: "On this day in 2008, the Israeli occupation waged a bloody aggression against the Palestinian people in Gaza claiming the lives of hundreds of police cadets and officers in the first raid of the war in an attempt to terrorize and subdue the Palestinian resistance, most importantly Hamas."
The Israeli occupation tried to uproot the Palestinian resistance through a comprehensive war against the Gaza Strip for 21 uninterrupted days, which resulted in the death of 1500 citizens and the injury and displacement of thousands others.
The statement noted that the political leadership stood as resolutely as the resistance and refused to bow to the occupation’s conditions especially disarming the resistance or abandoning armed resistance.
Hamas hailed the martyrs of al-Furqan battle including its two senior leaders: Nizar Rayyan and Said Siyam, and considered this battle a prelude to the ensuing victories in the two other aggressions in 2012 and in 2014.
On this occasion, the Movement confirmed its refusal to abandon armed resistance under any circumstances; instead, it said, it would be working on developing its armed potentials.
"Our people will never forget the Israeli heinous crimes and the resistance won't let the occupation get away with these crimes without a fair punishment," Hamas said, adding: "all the conferences that aim to eliminate the Palestinian resistance through the United Nations or through new negotiations are futile and fruitless."
"The Palestinian people will bring to account whoever prevents the reconstruction of Gaza and assists in the blockade on Gaza, and will never forgive whoever tries to distort the resistance’s image and conspires with Israel against it," the Movement concluded.

False warning sirens were reportedly heard, this Friday, in the Israeli border towns of Yad Mordechai and Netiv Ha'asara.
The two towns are located near the northern border of the Gaza Strip. There were no reports of any rockets striking Israel or of any other explosions, according to the PNN.
Israeli forces confirmed that it was a false alarm, in response to alleged gunfire within the Gaza Strip.

The UN called upon the Palestinians and Israelis to retain the ceasefire agreement they had signed five months ago and refrain from escalating the situation in Gaza.
UN humanitarian coordinator James Rawley expressed grave concern over the death of a Palestinian and the injury of an Israeli officer south of the Gaza Strip on Wednesday.
Rawley pointed out that this development happened following a serious of armed incidents in Gaza since last November, and called on both parties to show restraint and respect the ceasefire agreement between them.
A resistance fighter from al-Qassam Brigades of Hamas was killed during a firefight with infiltrating Israeli troops east of Khan Younis.
This was the second Palestinian killed by the Israeli army since the open-ended ceasefire agreement took effect on August 26.
The Hamas Movement blamed the Israeli army for the deadly clash, saying that its soldiers had busted the border fence on Wednesday.
"The Israeli occupation is responsible for the tension east of Khan Younis. They tried to cross the border and opened fire at citizens, provoking a response from Hamas," Hamas spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri stated in Facebook remarks.
Early last July, Israel had launched massive artillery and aerial attacks on Gaza for 51 days, killing more than 2,100 Palestinians and injuring thousands, mostly civilians.

Mousa Abu Mazrouk
Dr. Mousa Abu Marzouk, deputy head of the Political Bureau of the Hamas movement said that Hamas is committed to Egyptian-mediated ceasefire agreement, as long as Israeli is committed too.
On his Facebook page, Abu Marzouk said Hamas is not pleased with the repeated Israeli violations, adding that Israel must stop its attacks and violations.
“We in Hamas are committed to the ceasefire, as long as Israel is,” he said, “We of course know the enemy has hostile policies. It's violating all what we agreed upon during indirect talks mediated by Egypt.”
“Israel has repeatedly violated the ceasefire agreement; those violations must end,” Abu Marzouk added.
“In general, should the enemy be committed to ceasefire, then we are also committed; the latest bombardment came after a shell was fired into Ashkelon,” the Hamas official stated, “We are working with all resistance groups to remain committed to ceasefire so that we don’t give the enemy a chance to bombard border areas, or other areas in Gaza.”
He also said that Hamas is interested is maintaining calm and avoiding any escalation in the area, and added that “should Israel continue its violations, then all options are open; we can deal with any situation that emerges.”
Commenting on the internal Palestinian situation, the Hamas official said there should be better political policies and real changes on the ground “so that we can perform our duties towards our people.”
“There are many regional and international parties involved in this process either by direct support, and financing, or by pressuring Israel into halting its violations," he concluded.
On Friday at dawn, the Israeli Air Force carried out two air strikes targeting in Khan Younis, in the southern part of the Gaza Strip.
The Israeli Navy also opened fire on Palestinian fishing boats in Gaza territorial waters.

The rocket that was launched into Israel on Friday
Air force jets attack Hamas training facility in Khan Yunis in retaliation for rocket fired at Israel earlier Friday; attack marks first IAF strike in Gaza since military op.
The Israeli Air Force struck a Hamas training facility in the area of Khan Yunis in the southern Gaza Strip on Friday night in retaliation for a rocket fired at southern Israel earlier in the day. The attack marks the first time Israel carried out an air strike in the Gaza Strip since Operation Protective Edge ended in August. No injuries were reported.
The IDF spokesperson issued a statement confirming that the IAF hit "terrorist infrastructure" belonging to Hamas's military wing in the southern Gaza Strip.
A direct hit was detected, the statement said, adding that the "attack constituted a response to the steep trajectory rocket fire towards Israeli territory at the noon time hours."
Earlier Friday, a Code Red siren was heard shortly before noon in the Eshkol Regional Council, an Israeli community close to the Israel Gaza border, and was soon followed by blasts, residents reported - indicating that a rocket fired from the Gaza Strip landed in Israel.
IDF forces canvassing the area found the rocket in an open area, and no injuries or damage were reported. This is the third time a Gaza rocket has landed on the Israeli side of the border since the end of Israel and Hamas' 50-day summer war.
The head of the Eshkol Regional Council Haim Yellin warned residents that a diplomatic approach must be taken to restore quiet in southern Israel in a remark after the code red alert this morning, "Whoever thinks that a strong IDF response is the solution for quiet in the Gaza border communities does not understand that wars are decided by politicians, who with courage can bring peace and security. After Operation Protective Edge, the country had an opportunity to establish a long-term arrangement. Instead of this, we found ourselves with a ticking clock until the next escalation and war."
Ilan Yosef, from the Nir Yitzhak kibbutz located in the Eshkol Regional Council, said the alarm was sounded on the first day of a visit by Jewish-American parents visiting their children who had volunteered to serve in the IDF and were residing in the kibbutz.
"It caused us to jump on our feet, we ran to the shelter. We have American guests who came to visit their children who live with us as part of the Garin Tzabar program. They just arrived today to spend time with their children and we already found ourselves running to the shelter. It was very frightening and not pleasant but we did not hear an explosion and we did not receive any updates regarding a landing," said Yosef.
Other residents of the Gaza border communities described the ongoing tension that has persisted after the deadly summer war with Hamas: "We knew it and we were waiting for this," said Roni. "We are returning to the path. We knew it was only temporarily quiet."
Anat Hefetz, a resident of Eshkol and member of the Future of the Western Negev organization, said, "Ever since the war ended, we have been waiting for the next war. It was known ahead of time. For four months already nothing has been done to prevent this."
According to Hefetz, "The war ended – as if – but nothing was done to change the reality. No initiative was taken. We left the area on the other side to be controlled by Hamas. We also feel this as residents. There are always infiltrations, attempts to shoot rockets and false alarms. It does not surprise us."
In early November another Code Red siren, indicating an incomng rocket from Gaza, was sounded duing morning hours in Israel's Gaza-border communities. The rocket fell a few meters into Israeli territory inside the Eshkol Regional Council. A few days later, shots were fired towards the Erez border crossing, according to an initial report.
Earlier Friday, Ynet learned that Hamas has begun to renew tunnel construction within Gaza and shifted its military strategy.
According to Palestinian sources in the Strip who spoke to Ynet, after Israel allowed the flow of limited goods and materials into Gaza, a black market for mortar emerged - allowing Hamas to renew construction of concrete slabs used to line the inside of the tunnels.

Experts have received the decision of the European Court of Justice (ECJ) to remove Hamas from the terrorism list with mixed feelings. They welcomed the decision yet they expressed concern that it might not lead to root changes in the European Union’s stands regarding the Islamic Movement.
Call for caution
Ibrahim Madhoun, the director of Al-Mustaqbal Center for Studies and Research, mentioned the consequential caveats of this progress, pointing out that the decision is tentative and not final.
He called on Hamas, in his statements to the PIC, to be careful not to fall in the European trap which demands Hamas to change its policy against the occupation and its firm position not to recognize Israel.
The European Commission announced on Wednesday that the decision of the (ECJ) is legal rather than political, stressing that the European Union (EU) still considers Hamas a terrorist organization and will take the appropriate corrective steps in the right time including a possible appeal against it.
ECJ ruled on Wednesday (17-12) that the EU decision to include Hamas in the terrorism list is null and void, and gave the EU three months to appeal the ruling.
Valuable opportunity
Madhoun said that this decision is a valuable opportunity for the chairman of the Palestinian Authority Mahmoud Abbas to initiate a fresh start with Hamas in order to join their efforts so as to agree upon a unified Palestinian strategy that combines resistance with politics.
Mistake correction
The decision was highly welcomed by the Hamas Movement. Mousa Abu Marzouk, political bureau member of Hamas, expressed his gratitude to the court and considered this decision a victory for all resistance supporters.
The EU had included Hamas in its terrorism blacklist in 2003 on the backdrop of its resistance attacks against Israeli occupation.
No practical benefit
Abdul-Sattar Qassim, a professor of political science at Al-Najah university in Nablus, considered that the decision is not of practical benefit in light of the conflicting agendas as Hamas stresses its pursuance of the resistance option while the EU backs only political moves to solve the Middle East conflict.
Dr. Rami Abdo, the director of the Euro-Mediterranean Observatory for Human Rights, said that the decision exposed the EU’s moral scandal.
He opined that the decision was a correction of a previous mistake, adding that the decision to include Hamas in the terrorism list was merely based on false information from the media.
Hani Al-Basous, a professor of political science at the Islamic University in Gaza, laid emphasis on the fact that Hamas was removed from the terrorism list in the second highest European court while it is being incriminated in some Arab countries.
He said that the decision should serve as a lesson for Egypt, which is supposed to stand by the Palestinian resistance rather than stand against it, in reference to an Egyptian court ruling that labeled Hamas as a terrorist organization and ordered closure of its offices in Egypt.
“Hamas could be at the threshold of a new era that would open all doors before it with the international community,” Basous said.

Head of Hamas's political bureau Khaled Mishaal welcomed the European court of justice's legal verdict to remove his Movement from the European Union's terror list as "a step in the right direction" and "a correction to a previous mistake."
In press remarks to Middle East Monitor news website, Mishaal stated that putting Hamas on the EU's list of terrorist organizations had never been based on objective facts and violated the international law, which stipulated the right of nations to resist the occupation of their countries.
He added that it would be in the interest of the EU to harmonize itself with the international law away from Israel's misleading pressures on the international community.
The Hamas official urged the leaders and governments of the European Union to accept and respect their court's decision and take brave political measures necessary for removing Hamas from their official lists of terrorist groups in compliance with the European values of justice and law, and the Palestinian people's right to resist the occupation.
He expressed hope that all international powers, including the US, would take the lead in rectifying their mistaken positions on Hamas, which resulted from Israeli pressures.
Mishaal highlighted that since the foundation of his Movement 27 years ago, its legitimate struggle has been confined to the resistance of the Israeli occupation in the Palestinian territories.
He stressed that the resistance is a natural right for the Palestinian people and all nations under foreign occupation, adding that this right is fully compatible with all religious and international laws and the history of western and eastern countries that fought against occupying forces.

The Hamas Movement belittled recent remarks made by US secretary of state John Kerry in which he expressed his hope to see the Palestinian resistance come to an end, stressing that the resistance is ongoing as long as the occupation is persistent in its aggression.
Hamas's spokesman Sami Abu Zuhri described in a press release on Monday Kerry's remarks as illusions and dreams that would never come true.
"As long as the (Israeli) occupation is still there and its aggression is ongoing, the resistance will continue," Abu Zuhri underlined.
Addressing the Saban forum in Washington on Sunday, Kerry said that Arab countries are ready to make peace with Israel and join a new regional coalition alongside a future Palestinian state to fight what he labelled as "terrorist" groups.

The Israeli military on Saturday said that a rocket from Gaza had landed in southern Israel the day before, causing no injuries or damage but reminding locals of the tenuousness of a ceasefire signed in August.
An Israeli military spokeswoman told Ma'an that a rocket was fired and hit an open area near the border town of Eshkol.
She said the rocket was fired at 7 pm.
Israeli media reports said that the rocket fell near the border on the Israeli side and exploded upon impact. Sirens warning locals of the rocket fire reportedly failed to activate.
Israeli news site Ynet said that the Israeli military was investigating the incident and was focusing on two possible theories.
The first was that the rocket was fired by a group opposed to Hamas, which has so far upheld its side of the August ceasefire and prevented any firing of missiles into Israel.
The second possible scenario investigators are considering is that the explosion was the result of a faulty rocket test.
