Israeli Soldiers Confiscate 100 Dunams Of Palestinian Lands Near Nablus And Ramallah
Picture
Israeli soldiers confiscated, Sunday, approximately 100 Dunams (24.7 Acres) of privately-owned Palestinian lands from villages south of Nablus, in northern West Bank, and northeast of Ramallah, in central West Bank.

Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian official who monitors Israel’s illegal colonialist activities in northern West Bank, said the soldiers handed the confiscation orders to residents of Qaryout and Jaloud villages, near the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

He added that similar orders were handed to residents of Turmus Ayya village, north of the central West Bank city of Ramallah.

The confiscation of the lands is part of Israeli plans to expand Shilu illegal colony, which was built on private Palestinian lands.

The confiscated lands are in the following areas:

  1. Ras al-‘Ein and Ras Moweis, Basin #1 of the southern area of Qaryout village, southeast of Nablus.
  2. Basin #12 of Jaloud village, south of Nablus.
  3. Basin #10 and Basin #3 of Turmus Ayya village, northeast of Ramallah.

Daghlas stated that Israeli Prime Minster Benjamin Netanyahu is escalating the confiscation of Palestinian lands and the attempts to build and expand the illegal colonies as part of his efforts to appease the colonists ahead of the upcoming general election on September 17th.

Yousef Deriyeh, member of the local anti-settlements committee, told WAFA that Israeli forces confiscated the bulldozer belonging to Aqraba village council and ordered workers to stop work on the road under the pretext that work in that the area was not allowed.

He said this is the second time Israeli forces halt work on that road and confiscate machinery under the same pretext.

Kairos Palestine’s statement on House Demolitions Perpetrated by the Israeli Occupation Authorities
Picture
The demolished restaurant in Al-Makhrour

Everywhere, and throughout the occupied Palestinian Territories, the Israeli authorities demolish the houses of Palestinians, which the international law stipulates that they be protected and preserved by the occupying authority.

In violation to the said law and to implement colonial plans, the Israeli authorities demolish houses, confiscate lands and build settlements on their ruins.

In 2018, the Israeli authorities demolished 2775 Bedouins’ houses in the Negev. People resisted such measures and had their homes rebuilt. The town of al-Araqib, for example, was demolished and rebuilt 145 times. The Jahalin Bedouins of East Jerusalem have suffered a similar ordeal.

In Sourbaher, east of Jerusalem, dozens of houses that existed for years were demolished weeks ago. In Jerusalem, houses have been demolished under the pretext of not having a building permit, or with the intention of displacing the Palestinian population and Judaizing the Holy City.

Very recently, a house and a restaurant of a Christian family, in Beit-Jala (Bethlehem area), were demolished according to an arbitrary court decision.

The court ruled that the land of this Christian family, inherited from their ancestors, through generations, was not their own. It ordered that the house and restaurant be demolished and the property transferred to the settlers.

Justifications for such actions may include: Violating the laws of the planning department, lack of building permits, or reprisals against individual Palestinian militant attacks on Israeli targets. Indeed, the Israelis impose collective punishment on the families and relatives of militants by demolishing their houses.

A family house is sacred as much as the family. It is a sacred place exactly as a place of worship. People work hard and for their entire life to have their own house built. Yet, it is demolished simply because of an arbitrary and inhumane military decision.

The Israelis build settlements in violation to international laws, to the law of nature and to God’s commandments. God said: do not steal. The settlers law says: steal any Palestinian land to build a settlement. Indeed, the houses of settlers are constructed on confiscated i.e. stolen Palestinian land.

We are aware of the fact that we are addressing people with a hard heart, when it comes to the demolition of Palestinian houses. Hearts as hard as their bulldozers that demolish constructed Palestinian houses, resulting in the displacement of thousands of people and depriving them from a home.

Their main goal is to compel Palestinians to go away, in every possible way. Houses’ demolitions are one way. Our only sin is that we are in our houses and our land. Their real wish for us is not to exist.

The strength of the weak confronting the oppressor is simply in their natural rights, in remaining steadfast even on the ruins of their houses and against the will of those who wish them to go or not to exist.

The weak’s strength is in God, as says the Psalm: “The needy is not forgotten forever, not for ever does the hope of the poor come to nothing (Ps 9:18), and also: :For he rescues the needy who calls to him, and the poor who has no one to help. 3 He has pity on the weak and the needy, and saves the needy from death” (Ps 71: 12-13).

Israel’s survival depends on justice and peace. The power of injustice and weapon does not guarantee survival, nor does it work in confronting people living in their land and homes. Demolition of Palestinian houses and racist statements on the part of some Israeli officials or rabbis are lately getting aggravated. Such racist statements are being instilled in the mind of young generations.

The only way for Israel’s survival is justice, and respect of the indigenous owners of the land, whatever has been the history.

We address the state of Israel with a genuine word of truth: It is God’s law that preserves and protects, but laws of demolition can only lead to the demolition of the lawmaker himself. Israelis should always remember that they are the creation of God, and that Palestinians are the creation of God too.

In order to guarantee their security, future and survival, Israeli’s must deal with Palestinians on the basis of the God given equality and dignity.

Palestinian Forced to Demolish His Own Home in Jerusalem
Picture
Israeli authorities in Jerusalem forced a Palestinian homeowner to demolish his own home, using only hand tools, on Wednesday.

Jamil Masalmeh told reporters that he was in mourning for his home, which he was forced to demolish on Wednesday or else pay a 48,000 NIS fine. video video

His home is located in Silwan, an area targeted by Israeli authorities for annexation into Israel by the use of force.

The municipality gave the resident a 24-hour period to demolish the entire house (walls and ceilings), or be fined 48,000 shekels.

Masalmeh was forced to move in with his son, since he had no other place to go once he lost his home due to the Israeli order.

The Israeli authorities claim it was “built without a permit” despite the fact that Israel has not issued any permits to Palestinian landowners since it took over the city of Jerusalem by military force in 1967.

Israeli Jewish landowners, however, are issued permits nearly 100% of the time they apply. This double standard is one of the reasons that Palestinians in Jerusalem say they are being ‘ethnically cleansed’ from their homeland in Jerusalem.

More than 110 “residential, agricultural and commercial” buildings have been demolished this year in various neighborhoods of Jerusalem, more than 30 of which were demolished by their owners, who faced steep fines if they refused to carry out the demolition.

Given the high cost of bulldozers, many, like Masalmeh, had to demolish their homes by hand, using sledgehammers and other hand tools.

Eight Palestinians kidnapped by IOF in W. Bank and J’lem
Picture
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) at dawn Thursday kidnaped eight Palestinian citizens after ransacking their homes in the West Bank and Jerusalem.

The Israeli army claimed in a statement that its forces arrested seven Palestinians in the West Bank.

According to local sources, the IOF kidnaped two young men from their homes in Rujeib town, east of Nablus, and Beit Kahil town, west of al-Khalil. They were identified as Ghazi Abu Mustafa and Mu’taz Asafera.

The sources also said that the IOF stormed other homes in Beit Kahil town, including the homes of prisoners Naseer and Qasem Asafera.

The IOF also raided the home of Mohamed Abd Rabo in Fattouh area in Yatta, south of al-Khalil.

In Nablus, the IOF stormed the house of ex-detainee Wa’el Hashash in Balata refugee camp and confiscated 320 Jordanian dinars.

In Jerusalem, the Israeli police arrested a Palestinian citizens during violent clashes in Issawiya district.

After setting fire to olive fields in West Bank village, Israeli settlers return to chop down trees
Picture
Extremist Israeli settlers last night chopped down Palestinian-owned olive trees in Burin village, in the northern occupied West Bank district of Nablus, only days after they set fire to other trees in the same fields, reported Ghassan Daghlas, a Palestinian official who monitors settlement activity.

He told WAFA that a number of settlers from the illegal settlement of Yitzhar sneaked into the land in the village during the night and started to cut down the trees.

He pointed out that the settlers were riding motorcycles in the area, part of which has been seized by the settlers and planted with grape vines.

Palestinians often complain that settlers’ vandalism of Palestinian property and attacks against the civilian population is rampant in the occupied West Bank and often done under the eyes of the Israeli army.

Several Palestinians were killed, some burnt alive, in attacks by settlers and hundreds of dunums of land planted with olive and other trees were torched and destroyed by the settlers without anyone being detained or tried for their actions.

Settlers attack Palestinians, their property in Nablus towns

Hordes of extremist Jewish settlers on Wednesday evening attacked Palestinian citizens and their property in Madama and Burin town, south of Nablus in the occupied West Bank.

According to local sources, dozens of settlers from Yitzhar settlement stormed the southern area of Madama under security and military protection and embarked on burning and destroying several olive trees.

Later, some local residents from Madama tried to confront the settlers before soldiers intervened and fired volleys of tear gas canisters at the latter, causing them to suffer from injuries.

In a separate incident, settlers from the same settlements infiltrated overnight into the nearby town of Burin and wreaked havoc on several olive trees.

Israel seizes new lands to expand settlements in Bethlehem
Picture
The Israeli occupation authorities on Wednesday ordered the confiscation of Palestinian-owned lands in the West Bank district of Bethlehem.

Head of the Committee against the Wall and Settlement in Bethlehem Hasan Brijiyeh said that Israel has issued three orders to seize privately-owned lands in Beit Jala, Tuqu' and 'Arab al-Rashayida towns.

He explained that Israel is planning to expand the settler road (60) as well as Ma'ale Amos and Nikodim settlements.

Bethlehem district has been recently subjected to a stepped up land grab policy aimed at building new settlements or expanding existing ones on lands owned by Palestinian residents.
