Israeli forces order self-demolition of 10 Palestinian facilities
Picture
The Israeli occupation forces on Wednesday morning notified the demolition of 10 Palestinian facilities in Ramallah’s northeastern town of Silwad.

Silwad Mayor, Abdul Rahman Saleh, said the occupation forces threatened to demolish 10 Palestinian structures, including homes, two aluminum and iron factories, and a carwash.

Saleh added that the Israeli soldiers ordered the demolition of the targeted buildings by their own owners in no more than seven days, threatening to subject the owners to steep fines in case they do not abide by the verdict.

The notifications were issued under the pretext of unlicensed construction.

Sometime earlier, the owners appealed to an Israeli court to cancel the demolition orders.

In Bethlehem governorate, many army jeeps invaded the Deheishe refugee camp, south of Bethlehem city, and abducted Rami Omar al-Atrash, 29, in addition to abducting Jamil Soheir Hamamra, 22, from Husan town, west of Bethlehem.

In Tubas, in northeastern West Bank, the soldiers invaded the al-Far’a refugee camp, and abducted a young man, identified as Ahmad Daraghma.

Furthermore, the soldiers invaded Jenin refugee camp, in the northern West Bank governorate of Jenin, searched homes and abducted four young men, identified as Lutfi Mohammad Abu Nasr, Ahmad Nidal Sa’adi, Nidal Amin Hazem and Yazid Nidal Ja’aysa.

The soldiers clashed with many young men during the invasion, and fired gas bombs and concussion grenades.

Also in Jenin, the soldiers invaded Ya’bad town, southwest of the city, and photographed the home of Ahmad Ghaleb Abu Bakr, who was released from Israeli detention less than two days ago, in addition to the homes of his relatives Ghazi and Munir Khaled Abu Bakr.

The soldiers also interrogated several young men while inspecting their ID cards, in addition to invading Zabbouba village, west of Jenin, and installing a roadblock in its center, before stopping and questioning many Palestinians.

In Nablus, also in northern West Bank, the soldiers stopped twenty cars, carrying Palestinian government plates, at Za’tara military roadblock, south of Nablus, and searched some of them.

In Tulkarem city, in northern West Bank, the soldiers abducted Omar Suleiman Thiab, and his son Abdullah Thiab, in addition to Jihad Kharyoush, from Tulkarem refugee camp, after breaking into their homes and searching them.

The soldiers also prevented dozens of farmers from entering their lands, in Kafr Sour village, south of Tulkarem, after refusing to allow them through the electronic gate of the Annexation Wall, without providing any explanation for not allowing them into their isolated lands.

Several Palestinians kidnapped overnight by IOF in W. Bank

The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) last night and at dawn Wednesday raided homes, kidnapped several citizens and stole an amount of money during West Bank campaigns.

According to local sources, Israeli soldiers stormed and ransacked the house of Nidhal Hazem in Jenin refugee camp, stole 11,000 shekels belonging to him and rounded him up.

Two young men were also taken prisoners following IOF raids on homes in the camp.

The IOF soldiers also stormed Ya’bad town, south of Jenin, and embarked on photographing several homes, especially in al-Maloul area, with no known reason.

According to eyewitnesses, soldiers erected road barriers inside and at the entrance to Ya’bad town, intercepted passing citizens and interviewed some young men.

The southern neighborhood of Ya’bad is exposed to repeated IOF raids because of its location near the illegal settlement of Dotan.

In Bethlehem, an Israeli military force entered ad-Deheisheh refugee camp and kidnapped a young man in an attempt to pressure his relatives to turn himself in.

Local sources explained that soldiers raided the house of a young man called Akram al-Attrash, who suffers from a bullet injury, in order to arrest him, but they detained his cousin, Rami, when they did no find him at home.

Meanwhile, violent clashes broke out between the soldiers and local young men from the camp. One young man reportedly suffered a bullet injury in his leg and was rushed to a hospital for medical assistance.

The IOF soldiers also broke into a stationery store in the camp for the third time, reclosed it, without giving a reason for the measure, and threatened to arrest anyone who tries to open it once again.

In Qalqilya, the IOF kidnapped a young man at a military checkpoint near the illegal settlement of Immanuel. He was identified as 28-year-old Shaddad Adwan from Azzun town.

Israeli scheme to evacuate Susya village
Picture
n Israeli security official said on Tuesday that the Palestinian village of Susya, located to the south of al-Khalil city, will be evacuated within a few months just like the Bedouin village of Khan al-Ahmar.

Haaretz newspaper reported, quoting the unnamed official, that the Israeli war ministry is not willing to postpone and will immediately ask the court for eviction.

The paper pointed out that representatives of "the state" have repeatedly requested to postpone the demolition of the village due to the diplomatic sensitivity related to its evacuation.

The village is home to 32 Palestinian families consisting of 200 individuals, 93 of whom are children. Susya contains the village council building, a clinic, a small kindergarten, and a school of 55 students from grades 1 through 9.

Israel's war minister, Avigdor Lieberman, has revealed earlier that his ministry is preparing to evacuate the Palestinian villages of Khan al-Ahmar and Susya, claiming that their residents do not have legal building permits and that the two villages receive direct support from international organizations and the European Union.

Israeli army seizes truck laden with charcoal in Ya’bad town
Picture
The Israeli occupation army on Monday afternoon confiscated a truck laden with three tons of Palestinian-made charcoal in Ya’bad town, south of Jenin in the West Bank.

Local sources told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that this load of charcoal was seized at the behest of the commander of the Israeli army in the region, who already threatened to prevent the production of charcoal in Ya’bad.

For its part, The union of coal workers affirmed that the seized truckload of charcoal was produced in a workshop belonging to a citizen from Ya’bad and was taken by Israeli soldiers to the Salem military base in Jenin.

“The coal industry is the only source of livelihood for many families in Ya’bad town…but, it has been targeted and undermined by Israeli measures in recent years,” the union said.

Last August, the Israeli army confiscated around 20 tons of wood belonging to three charcoal factories in Ya’bad, claiming the Palestinian coal industry violates environmental regulations and disturbs Jewish settlers living in the area.

Israel to hold sway over Palestinian lands in Jerusalem
Picture
The Israeli occupation authorities leveled Palestinian lands northeast of Jerusalem city as part of its underway land grab tactics.

Member of the Follow-Up Committee in al-Issawiya village, Mohamed Abu al-Hums, said the Israeli forces, escorted by three heavily-equipped vehicles, stormed al-Issawiya, northeast of Occupied Jerusalem, and bulldozed Palestinian land tracts owned by the Abu Turk, Mustafa, and Muheissen families.

The targeted land lots cover an area of up to seven dunums.

The Israeli forces further razed a security fence surrounding the lands and uprooted olive trees before they issued a fine against the owner of an agricultural structure.

At the same time, the Israeli forces bulldozed a land belonging to the Palestinian citizen Zakaria Abu Tayeh in Khilet al-Ein, in Jerusalem’s eastern town of al-Tur, moments before they violently beat al-Tayeh and dragged him to an Israeli investigation center.

In August alone, at least 11 Palestinian facilities were reduced to rubble by Israel’s demolition machines across Occupied Jerusalem.

Journalist among 18 Palestinians arrested in West Bank
Picture
The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) launched at dawn Tuesday a large scale raid and arrest campaign throughout the West Bank. 18 Palestinians including a journalist were detained during the raids.

IOF claimed in a statement issued early today that 18 “wanted” Palestinians were detained for allegedly being involved in anti-occupation activities.

Weapons were allegedly found during the raids while thousands of shekels were confiscated, the statement added.

A journalist and an ex-prisoner were among the four arrests carried out in Nablus city and its refugee camp of Balata, the PIC reporter said.

Israeli Colonists Pump Sewage Into Farmlands Near Bethlehem
Picture
Several extremist Israeli colonists pumped, on Monday evening, sewage water into Palestinian agricultural lands in the al-Khader town, south of the West Bank city of Bethlehem.

Ahmad Salah, the coordinator of the Popular Committee against the Annexation Wall and Colonies in al-Khader, said the colonists, from Efrat illegal colony which was built on illegally confiscated Palestinian lands, flooded the farmlands in Wad al-Byar area with sewage water, destroying a large area planted with grapevines.

He added that this serious assault was not the first of its kind, and expressed concerns regarding the spread of diseases besides the destruction of plants and trees.

Court postpones decision on demolition of Khan al-Ahmar
Picture
Israeli supreme court on Monday postponed issuing a decision on the demolition of Khan al-Ahmar Bedouin community to the east of Occupied Jerusalem until April next year.

Khan al-Ahmar spokesman, Eid al-Jahalin, said that the postponement was issued at the end of a session held on Monday at the supreme court to consider a request to evacuate the residents, adding that he expected settler groups to file petitions asking for the demolition orders to be activated.

Khan al-Ahmar is home to 35 Palestinian families consisting of 145 individuals who have been living in the area for nearly 50 years. The residents refuse to leave the area unless the Israeli authorities allow them to return to their original homes in the Negev from which they were forcibly displaced, which Israel completely rejects, Jahalin said.

Haaretz newspaper reported on Monday that the Israeli government on Sunday informed the supreme court that it plans to evacuate the Bedouin village by mid 2018.

The paper added that the supreme court is considering two petitions in this regard: the first is from settlers in the area demanding the demolition of the village's ecological school, while the second is from Bedouin residents against the demolition orders against their homes.

In response to the two petitions, the Israeli government said that it had offered Khan al-Ahmar residents an alternative location about eight kilometers away from the Bedouin village. This site is considered less strategically important for Israel since it is far from the area between Jerusalem and Ma'aleh Adumin.

The residents had rejected the offer since it is "inappropriate for their lifestyle and forces them into urban living." They also said that the area is already inhabited by other Bedouin tribes in a manner that does not allow them to settle there.

Palestinians in Khan al-Ahmar live in extreme poverty with poor infrastructure in temporary houses built of tin, wood and plastic.

Israeli Soldiers Photograph Residential Buildings, And A Mosque, In Jerusalem
Picture
Dozens of Israeli soldiers invaded, on Monday before noon, the al-Matar neighborhood, near Qalandia refugee camp, north of occupied East Jerusalem, and photographed residential buildings and a mosque, in preparation for demolishing them.

The threatened buildings, including vacant and occupied flats, and the mosque, are facing demolition by the Israeli army under the pretext of being built without permits.

The City Council in occupied Jerusalem is also planning to pave a road parallel to the Annexation Wall in the area, an issue that placed the building under direct threats of demolition.

The issue is still being discussed in Israeli courts, and the demolition notices have been served even though, so far, no final verdict has been reached.

Israeli authorities dig up Muslim graves in O. Jerusalem
Picture
Israeli authorities dug up Muslim graves in Maman Allah cemetery west of Occupied Jerusalem to pave the way for establishing settlement projects aimed at Judaizing and changing the status quo in the holy city.

Mustafa Abu Zahra, Chairman of the Committee for the Care of Islamic Cemeteries in Jerusalem, said that a huge grave, including 8 skulls and skeletons that belong to Muslims who were buried in the cemetery many years ago, was exposed as a result of the excavations.

He told Quds Press that Israeli settlement projects have ate 70 per cent of the graveyard’s area which was estimated at 200 dunums. He called on competent authorities to intervene in order to halt such Israeli violations.

Israeli army destroys car wash west of Salfit
Picture
Israeli occupation forces Monday destroyed a Palestinian car wash in the town of Deir Ballout, to the west of Salfit city in the central West Bank.

Local sources said that Israeli soldiers forced Palestinians to shut down their stores located along the road that leads to the village of Kufr al-Dik, before proceeding to destroy the car wash.

The demolition, which was done at the pretext of lacking construction permission, also included leveling of olive trees as well as an adjacent land.

Israeli authorities to demolish 4 buildings north of Jerusalem
Picture
Israeli authorities on Monday raided a number of Palestinian residential buildings in al-Matar neighborhood to the north of Occupied Jerusalem and took their measurements in preparation for their demolition.

Mayor of Kafr 'Aqab, Emad Awad, told Quds Press that the Israeli authorities in the morning hours broke into the four buildings intended to be demolished for the construction of a new settlement road and took their measurements.

The Jerusalemite activist Raed Hamdan said that the residents of the threatened buildings were assaulted during the raid.

According to Hamdan, one of the four buildings is uninhabited while the three others are homes for 80 Palestinian families consisting of 300 people.

Israeli authorities claim that these buildings are unlicensed and that they are close to the separation wall, meaning that Palestinian youths can mount their rooftops and throw stones at Israeli targets, Hamdan pointed out.

Based on the Israeli plan, a new settlement road where only private vehicles can pass will be constructed following the demolition of the residential buildings.

IOF demolishes industrial facility north of al-Khalil
Picture
Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Monday demolished a Palestinian facility used for manufacturing building stones near the entrance of Beit Ummar town to the north of al-Khalil city.

PIC reporter said that a military force from the so-called Planning and Building Committee of the Israeli Civil Administration, accompanied by border guards and a bulldozer, stormed the area and demolished the facility belonging to the Palestinian citizen Saber Abu Mariya.

He pointed out that Abu Mariya possesses documents proving his ownership of the land in addition to a decision by the Israeli supreme court allowing him to work in his facility.

Abu Mariya has been for years a constant target of the IOF practices having his house and factory demolished several times.

Israeli forces raze structure, level lands in Negev
Picture
Israeli bulldozers, escorted by policemen and Special Forces, on Monday razed a stockyard and a structure as well as a wall in Rahat city in Negev at the pretext of lacking construction permits.

Sa'id Al-Kharoumi, Arab deputy in the Israeli Knesset, underlined that the pace of demolition dramatically escalated during the term of the Israeli extremist right-wing government especially after the racist Jewish Home party took over the Negev file.

He stressed that all the Israeli attempts to displace and expel Palestinians from Negev have failed as they adhere to their land and show steadfastness despite Israeli harassment and anti-Arab policies.

Kharoumi told Quds Press that 1158 homes and structures were demolished in Negev last year, which is likely to increase this year.

Israeli authorities construct new road in Hizma
Picture
Israeli authorities on Sunday started the construction of a new road in Hizma town to the northeast of Occupied Jerusalem.

Eyewitnesses said that Israeli bulldozers razed lands owned by Palestinian citizens and started paving the new road.

Palestinians' property and lands in the West Bank and Jerusalem are constantly targeted with demolitions and confiscation by the Israeli authorities.

Israeli settlers burn down Palestinian olive trees south of Nablus
Picture
Israeli settlers on Sunday burned dozens of olive trees in Kafr Kalil, south of Nablus, as preparations for olive-picking got underway in the occupied territories.

According to eye-witnesses, Israeli settlers from the nearby Brakha outpost torched olive trees planted on Palestinian land near Hawara checkpoint.

The Palestinian locals were shocked as they caught sight of dozens of olive trees reduced to ashes.

Israeli Soldiers Abduct Four Palestinians In Bethlehem, Confiscate Tractors And A Car In Tubas
Picture
Israeli soldiers invaded, on Sunday at dawn, three villages and towns in the West Bank governorate of Bethlehem, searched many homes and abducted four young men.

The soldiers also illegally confiscated two tractors and a car in Tubas, in northeastern part of the West Bank.

The Bethlehem office of the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) has reported that several army jeeps invaded Beit Fajjar town, south of the city, searched homes and abducted Islam Mohammad Deeriyya, 25.

It added that the soldiers also invaded Marah Rabah village, south of Bethlehem, and abducted Waleed Mahmoud Sheikh, 27.

Furthermore, the soldiers invaded homes in Teqoua’ town, east of Bethlehem, and abducted Mohammad Ribhi al-‘Amour, 22, and Omar Hammad Hmeid, 19.

In related news, the soldiers invaded agricultural in ar-Ras al-Ahmar area, south of Tubas, and illegally confiscated two tractors and a car, owned by Palestinians working in the fertile lands.

The attack is part of a serious of similar violations carried out by the soldiers against the Palestinian villagers, their lands and property, which seriously escalated over the past ten days.

Israeli occupation grabs hold of Palestinian lands in Bethlehem
Picture
The Israeli occupation authorities (IOA) seized Palestinian lands in Bethlehem’s southern town of al-Khader, declaring them “state property.”

Coordinator for the anti-settlement committee in al-Khader, Ahmed Salah, said in a Thursday statement the Israeli civil administration marked out land lots which Palestinian farmers had left uncultivated over recent years.

According to Salah, over the past couple of years the Israeli occupation forces have prevented farmers from reclaiming or cultivating the targeted land tracts, covering an area of 50 dunums.

The activist added that the move makes part of an Israeli law legitimizing the annexation of Palestinian lands which their owners have left uncultivated for years.

He called on the landlords to proceed with lawsuits at Israeli courts, urging the concerned authorities to take a serious response over “the land massacre” in al-Khader.

Soldiers Uproot West Bank Crops
Picture
Israeli forces, on Wednesday, uprooted dozens of fruit trees and leveled Palestinian land west of West Bank city of Nablus.

Tareq Hazzaa, owner of the land, said that a bulldozer escorted by Israeli Civil Administration forces razed more than 50 fig and lemon trees that were bearing fruit.

He said he was told, by occupation forces, that the work was undertaken to expand the main Nablus-Tulkarem road near the Beit Lid crossroads, and to create a roundabout in the area.

The land owner said that the Israeli occupation leveled about two dunams out of his four-dunam piece of land, according to Days of Palestine.

Israeli forces and settlers regularly attack olive and fruit trees in a bid to oust Palestinian farmers from their land, and a loss of a year’s crops can cause destitution for farming families.

Beit Lid is located adjacent to the illegal Israeli settlement Einav, and hundreds of fruit trees have been uprooted in the area, over the years, on land confiscated from the Palestinian village for development of the settlement.

IOF confiscates 45 dunums west of Salfit
Picture
The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) confiscated a Palestinian-owned land in Zawiya town west of Salfit.

The land area is estimated at 45 dunums, local sources affirmed to the PIC reporter.

The local activist Khaled Maali said that the targeted land is located near al-Qana illegal settlement.

New Israeli housing units are planned to be built in the land, he added.

More than 550,000 Jewish settlers live in settlements across the West Bank, which has been under Israeli military occupation since 1967.

The construction of settlements and the transfer of the occupying power's population into occupied lands is strictly forbidden under international law, and critics have likened the situation to "colonialism" and "apartheid."
