Hamas calls Israel’s home demolitions “racist and terrorist behavior”
Picture
The Hamas Movement has strongly denounced the Israeli occupation authority (IOA) for demolishing four homes belonging to Palestinian detainees and displacing their residents at dawn Thursday, describing the measure as “a racist and terrorist behavior.”

In a press release, Hamas spokesman Hazem Qasem said that Israel’s demolition policy would always be fuel for the Palestinian people’s revolution.

“The occupation is delusional if it thinks that such terrorist behavior can stop our people’s struggle. All  the facts have proved that the policy of home demolition will remain fuel for our people’s raging revolution,” spokesman Qasem underlined.

Israeli army bulldozers at dawn Thursday demolished four houses belonging to families of Palestinian detainees in Beit Kahil town, northwest of al-Khalil.

The detainees have been accused by the IOA of killing an Israeli soldier near the Gush Etzion settlement bloc in Bethlehem last August.

Soldiers Uproot 30 Trees, Demolish 150 Walls And Wells, In Salfit
Picture
Israeli soldiers invaded, Thursday, the al-Jawareesh area, west of the central West Bank city of Salfit, before uprooting 30 olive trees, in addition to demolishing 150 sustaining walls and several water wells.

The Palestinian Agriculture Ministry said the soldiers uprooted the trees, and carried the demolitions out without prior notice.

The head of Salfit City Council, Abdul-Karim Zobeidi, said the demolitions were carried out in 5 Dunams of land owned by a local resident, identified as Abdul-Rahim Yassin.

The demolitions took place not long after the Palestinian and his family managed to rehabilitate the land, and planted it with dozens of olive trees.

Israeli Soldiers Uproot Palestinian Lands Near Bethlehem
Picture
On Thursday morning, Israeli soldiers, accompanied by bulldozers, invaded Palestinian agricultural lands, west of Bethlehem city, south of occupied Jerusalem in the West Bank, and uprooted them.

Hasan Breijiyya, the head of the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, said the military bulldozers uprooted dozens of Dunams of Palestinian agricultural lands, west of Husan village.

Breijiyya added that the lands are privately owned by families from Husan, and that the uprooting came as part of Israel’s illegal colonialist policies in that area.

Israel is trying to expand its illegal colonies, built in direct violation of International Law and the Fourth Geneva Convention, by illegally annexing and destroying more Palestinian lands.

Soldiers Demolish A Palestinian Home In Nablus
Picture
Israeli soldiers demolished, on Thursday morning, a Palestinian home in ‘Aseera ash-Shamaliya village, northwest of the northern West Bank city of Nablus.

Media sources said the home, which was still-under-construction, was demolished because the so-called “Civil Administration Office,” the executive branch of the illegal Israeli occupation of Palestine, did not recognize the construction permit which was issued by the town council and the Palestinian Authority.

They added that the family pleaded with the Civil Administration Office to refrain from demolishing their property, but it went ahead with its orders, under the pretext that the property was built on Area C of the occupied West Bank, under full Israeli control.

Hazem Yassin, the head of ‘Aseera ash-Shamaliya Village Council, said the demolished property is owned by Moammar Hamadna, and was legally built on his own private land, in the as-Sareeh area, southwest of the village.

Israeli army razes house in W. Bank town of Asira ash-Shamaliya

The Israeli occupation army on Thursday morning demolished a Palestinian house in Asira ash-Shamaliya town, north of Nablus.

Local official Ghassan Daghlas said that a bulldozer escorted by military troops stormed the town and embarked on knocking down a house belonging to a local resident called Mu’amar Hamadneh.

The measure provoked clashes between the soldiers and local youths near the house, where the latter intensively fired stun and tear gas grenades to disperse the angry crowds. video

Several young men reportedly suffered from their exposure to tear gas fumes.

Israeli Soldiers Demolish Four Homes In Hebron
Picture
Israeli soldiers demolished, on Thursday at dawn, four Palestinian homes in Beit Kahil town, northwest of the southern West Bank city of Hebron; the demolished properties are owned by families of Palestinians accused of killing an Israeli soldier.

Many military jeeps, accompanied by armored bulldozers, invaded the town, and forced the families out of their homes.

Soldiers of the Engineering Corps then disconnected power and water lines, before proceeding with demolishing the four homes. video video

The army closed the entire area, and prevented the Palestinians, including journalists, from entering it.

The demolished homes are owned by the families of four detainees, identified as Hamad Aref Asafra, his brother Qassem Saleh Asafra, in addition to Nasseer Saleh Asafra and Yousef Atiya Zohour.

The Israeli army claims that the four were involved in killing an off-duty soldier, identified as Dvir Sorek, 19, near the illegal Migdal Oz colony, in the occupied West Bank, on August 9th 2019. Israeli sources said Sorek was part of a program that combines Torah studies and military service.

Israel’s policy of home demolition of Palestinians involved, or believed to be involved, in killing or attacking Israelis, including soldiers, is an act of illegal collective punishment that violates International Law and various international treaties, including the Fourth Geneva Convention.

The invasion and demolitions led to protests, and the soldiers fired a barrage of gas bombs, concussion grenades, rubber-coated steel bullets and rounds of live ammunition.

Medical sources said many Palestinians suffered the effects of teargas inhalation.

According to the Israeli Information Center for Human Rights in the Occupied Territories, the army demolished 140 Palestinian homes and structures in Jerusalem governorate since the beginning of this year until September 1st.

ISM Report: Land Confiscations by the Israeli Army in Salfit and Qalqilia Area
The Israeli Occupation Forces has recently announced a new sequence of land seizures in eleven villages in Salfit District and three in the Qalqila area of Occupied Palestine.

The total amount of land being confiscated, for “military/security” reasons, is the equivalent of nearly one million square metres.

850,000 of this is for the compulsory renewal of notices of land confiscation that had already been issued, the rest is made up of new illegal acquisitions.

Residents in the fourteen villages – which include Bruqeen, Iskaka, Deir Istiya and Zawiya – were given notice of the seizures within the last two weeks.

They were allowed just seven days to register appeals with the Israeli court.
Many were unable to do so within the tight deadline, which required producing notarised copies of land title deeds, and the additional expense of hiring a lawyer to represent them.

Based on bitter past experience the majority of residents, however, chose not to register appeals, as the Israeli courts have proven themselves to be completely unwilling previously to overturn any order raised by the military that cite ‘security concerns’.

Despite some appeals having been lodged with the court, the Israeli Army has nonetheless continued to occupy the confiscated land in question, and erected fences and other barriers on the disputed new land.

Residents can now only gain access to tend crops or pick olives if they apply to the Israeli Army for a permit to enter their own land.  This still means they have to pass through checkpoints and face humiliating delays, ID checks, bag searches and body searches.

Israeli occupation forces on Monday knocked down a Palestinian coffee shop in Battir village, west of the West Bank city of Bethlehem.

Local sources said that Israeli bulldozers, accompanied by armed forces, stormed Battir village and demolished a coffee shop owned by the Palestinian citizen Wesam Oweineh under the pretext that it is built in Area C, which is exclusively administered by Israel.

Israeli occupation forces have stepped up their demolition and land confiscation campaigns in the West Bank in favor of new settlement expansion and annexation plans.

Army Demolishes A Home Near Hebron
Picture
Israeli soldiers demolished, Thursday, a Palestinian home in Khallet ad-Dabe area, east of Yatta town, south of Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.

Rateb Jabour, the coordinator of the Popular Committees in southern West Bank, said the soldiers demolished the home, made of bricks and a tin roof, owned by Amer Mohammad Ali Dababsa,

The demolition order was issued less than 72 hours prior to the destruction of the property, which consisted of two rooms.

The destruction left eleven family members, mainly children, homeless in the cold; the family tried to appeal against the demolition order but to no avail.

This marks the second time the soldiers demolish the property, especially after the Civil Administration rejected the structural plan of the village.

The soldiers also handed similar demolition orders to three Palestinians in the area.

The army claimed that the structures were not licensed by the “Civil Administration Office,” the administrative branch of Israel’s illegal occupation of the West Bank.

PPS: “Israeli Soldiers Abduct Eight Palestinians, Including Jerusalem Governor, One Woman, In West Bank”
Picture
Israeli soldiers abducted, earlier Thursday, at least eight Palestinians, including a young woman and the Governor of occupied Jerusalem, from several parts of the occupied West Bank, the Palestinian Prisoners’ Society (PPS) has confirmed.

The PPS office in Hebron, in southern West Bank, said several army jeeps invaded Beit Ummar town, north of the city, and ransacked a home before abducting a young woman, who is in her fourth year at Palestine Polytechnic University.

The young woman, identified as Leen Akef Awad, 23, is also an elected member of the Students’ Council at her college.

Her father said the soldiers violently searched the home, and confiscated a Laptop, a computer, mobile phones and even a landline phone owned by the family.

He added that the soldiers took his abducted daughter to Etzion military base, north of Hebron.

The soldiers also invaded Shiokh town, east of Hebron, and abducted Yousef Warasna, after storming and ransacking his home.

In occupied Jerusalem, the soldiers invaded Silwan town, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, and abducted Yousef Ashour, 17, after invading and violently searching his family’s home in Batn al-Hawa neighborhood.

The soldiers also abducted Jerusalem Governor, Adnan Gheith, from his home in Silwan town.

The governor has been abducted and detained more than thirteen times since he took office, and was banned from entering all other areas in the West Bank for twelve months.

Also in Jerusalem, the soldiers abducted the Director of the Education Ministry Samir Jibreel, and Ziad Shamali, who heads the Parents’ Council of Jerusalem Students.

In Bethlehem, south of occupied Jerusalem, the soldiers invaded and searched homes in the Deheishe refugee camp, south of the city, before abducting two Palestinians identified as Odai Adnan Shehada, 23, and Khalil Mohammad al-Banna, 24.

In related news, the soldiers invaded Aseera al-Qibliyya town, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, and confiscated a bulldozer, owned by Ali Issa Makhlouf, from his own land.

Picture
The Cultural Committee of the 40th UNESCO general conference, which was attended by ministers of culture from around the world, has called for taking new decisions to protect the world heritage in Occupied Jerusalem.

UNESCO member states and international donors said they would provide further support for activities intended to preserve the cultural heritage of the Old City of Jerusalem.

The UNESCO Cultural Committee expressed concern about Israel’s excavations and construction works in the Old City of Jerusalem and on both sides of the city and its walls.

Awqaf warns of Israel’s efforts to liquidate J'lem institutions
Picture
Husam Abul-Rab, undersecretary of the awqaf and religious affairs ministry, has warned that Israel’s closure of Palestinian institutions in Occupied Jerusalem is part of its efforts to liquidate the Palestinian presence in the holy city.

In press remarks on Wednesday Abul-Rab has accused the Israeli political echelon of blessing such practices, which entails international action to address this serious situation.

He said that the closure of institutions and the repeated break-ins at the Aqsa Mosque by Jewish settlers were all aimed at imposing new faits accomplis in Jerusalem.

The official stressed the need for a clear Arab and Islamic position against these illegal Israeli practices in order to protect the Arab and Muslim nations’ religious, historical and cultural right to the holy city.
