The Israeli police on Friday abducted two young Palestinian men, and confiscated the car of one of them for the ‘crime’ of organizing a Palestinian Marathon in occupied Jerusalem to counter the Marathon the City Council is holding for Israeli colonizers and internationals.
The WAFA Palestinian News Agency said hundreds of soldiers and police officers had deployed in the occupied city on Friday, and closed many main roads, west and east of the city, to prepare for a Marathon.
The Palestinians protested the Israeli marathon because Jerusalem is an occupied city, and such events are only meant to strengthen and normalize the illegal occupation. They decided to organize their own event, but the police prevented them.
The police also abducted nonviolent activist, Mohammad Abu al-Hummus, after assaulting him on Nablus Street near Damascus Gate, and confiscated his car along with the Palestinian flags and athletes’ outfits he was transporting. They also abducted Fadi al-Mitwer.

The Israeli occupation authorities on Thursday notified the confiscation of Palestinian lands in Nablus’s southern town of Burin, in the northern West Bank.
Activist Ghassan Dughlas, in charge of the settlement file in the northern occupied West Bank, said the IOA threatened to hold sway over 751 dunums of Palestinian lands near Burin’s Secondary School under the security pretext.
Maps attached to the confiscation note show that the targeted land will be used to build an apartheid fence separating the local school and the southern thoroughfare.
A couple of months earlier, the occupation authorities leveled Palestinian lands in the area to build the separation fence. Palestinian locals managed to stop the construction works shortly afterwards.
Last week, the IOA threatened to grab hold of 24 dunums of Palestinian lands in Burin to establish a settlement road linking Brakha illegal settlement and an Israeli military site to the west of the town.
Settlers Attack West Bank Palestinian Farmers
Israeli Jewish settlers attacked, on Thursday, Palestinian farmers as they were ploughing their land in the village of al-Sawiyeh, south of Nablus, according to a local official.
Ghassan Daghlas, who monitors settlement activities in northern West Bank district, said that settlers from the illegal settlement of Rahalim, built on al-Sawiyeh land, attacked the farmers and prevented them from ploughing their land.
The settlers also destroyed 40 fully grown olive trees owned by the Salman family, according to WAFA.
Meanwhile, said Daghlas, Israeli military authorities decided to seize land near Burin high school, south of Nablus, under the security pretext.
He said that the army had announced, two months ago, that it plans to seize land in Burin to build a fence that would separate the school and land in that area from the main Qalqilya-Nablus road and came back on Thursday to confirm with maps its decision to seize that land, warning that the fence may eventually cause residents to lose a lot more of their agricultural land, which is their only source of income.

The Israeli Knesset, on Monday, approved the first reading for a bill to cut tax funding to the Palestinian Authority, by the amount it pays out monthly to the Palestinian detainees and families of the slain.
According to the Israeli Defense Ministry, the 2017 payments to these families exceeded $347 million.
The first reading was passed in the Knesset by 52 votes in favor, and 10 against, according to the PNN.

According to Addameer organization, there are currently 6,119 Palestinian political detainees in Israeli jails, 450 or them administrative detainees. 526 Prisoners are serving life sentences.
