Palestinians from the Um Haroun area, Sheikh Jarrah neighborhood, occupied Jerusalem, on Monday, foiled an attempt to take over two buildings, by Israeli forces.
WAFA correspondence reported locals as saying that Israeli police withdrew from the area after being asked to present the court’s eviction order, which they failed to do.
Israeli settlement groups, with the support of the official institutions of the Israeli occupation, were able, through ‘crooked ways’ and improper papers, to take over more than one property in the area, which is considered closest to the Western side of occupied Jerusalem, and is still attempting to take over what’s left of homes in the area, claiming pre-1948 ownership of the land.

Israeli bulldozers on Monday leveled 5 dunums of Palestinian lands and destroyed nurseries in the town of Hizma, northeast of Occupied Jerusalem, on allegation of being unlicensed.
Head of the town’s council, Samar Salahuddin, said that Israeli municipality crews escorted by a large number of Israeli forces broke into Hizma town in the morning hours, closed several roads as Israeli soldiers proceeded to destroy farms and other agricultural facilities in the town’s main street.
Israeli Forces Demolish Buildings in Jerusalem
Israeli forces demolished Palestinian agricultural and commercial buildings in the Hizma neighborhood of Jerusalem, Monday morning.
Witnesses told Ma’an News Agency that Israeli forces, escorting staff from the Israeli Jerusalem Municipality, raided Hizma, surrounding agricultural and commercial buildings on the outskirts of the town. Sources added that Israeli forces razed the land to “prevent owners from rebuilding.”
Samer Salah al-Din, head of the Hizma local council, said that Israeli forces demolished agricultural structures, stone factories and a local shop, under the pretext that the structures were built without the extremely difficult-to-obtain Israeli building permits.
The demolished structures provide economic lifelines to twenty Palestinian families. Moreover, owners suffered massive losses that have been estimated at more than 1.5 million shekels.
Salah al-Din added that the Israeli municipality had sent demolition notices to five houses in the same neighborhood two weeks ago; the notices included that the houses were built 40-50 years ago but were allegedly built without permits.
According to a statement made by the owners of the commercial buildings in the area, “this is the fifth time that these buildings have been demolished, and every time they are rebuilt, Israeli forces unexpectedly demolish without warning. Rebuilding is a necessity since it is the only source of financial support.”
Roughly 90 percent of the total neighborhood area, was classified as Area C, where Israel retains full control over security and civil administration.
In Area C, the more than 60 percent of the West Bank under full Israeli security and civilian control, Palestinian construction and land management is prohibited unless through consent or authorization by the Israeli Civil Administration.
Nearly all Palestinian applications for building permits in Area C are denied by the Israeli authorities, forcing communities to build illegally.

Israeli soldiers invaded, Sunday, Nahhalin town, west of the West Bank city of Bethlehem, and handed orders for halting the construction of three Palestinian homes.
Hani Fannoun, the deputy mayor of Nahhalin, said the army targeted the under-construction 80 square/meter home of Ali Abdul-Hafeth Shakarna, the 120 square/meter home of Yousef Abdul-Rahman Fannoun, and the 90 square/meter home of Bassel Hussein Shakarna.
The army said the three homes were built without a permit from the Civil Administration office, run by the army in the occupied West Bank.
Fannoun said Israel is escalating its violations against the Palestinians in the area, by constant invasions, abductions, destruction of property, in addition to orders forbidding the Palestinians from building on their own lands.
He added that the violations are part of Israel’s seriously increasing attempts to illegally confiscate Palestinian lands, in addition to the demolition of homes and property to build and expand its colonies, illegally built in direct violation of International Law and the Fourth Geneva Convention.

The Israeli occupation authorities on Sunday morning forced a Palestinian citizen to demolish his home in Umm Nmeila village, near Rahat city, in the Negev desert.
Palestinian citizen Youssef al-Zayadna received an order by the Israeli authorities to demolish his own home in Negev.

Palestinian shepherds and farmers in Bruqeen village have sounded alarm bells over the damage wrought by Israel’s settlement growth at the expense of pastoral areas and fertile grazing lands.
Local shepherds said the overall area of pastoral land lots has been reduced in size and quality on a quasi-daily basis as a result of the Israeli-built apartheid fences and settlement units.
Researcher Khaled Maali said pastoral ranches north of Bruqeen have been entirely destroyed by Israel’s industrial zone, devoted to residents of the illegal Ariel settlement. More serious damage has also been wrought by the Brukhin settlement and Israeli factories built in the area.
Maali said Israel’s settlement activities in the area represent flagrant breaches of internal law and have resulted in hazardous ecological and socio-economic fallouts in Salfit.

The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) has decided to devour more Palestinian agricultural and pastoral lands in the village of Yasuf, northeast of Salfit province in the West Bank and annex more than 200 dunums of its land for security and settlement purposes.
Yasuf mayor Nashaat Abdul-Fattah explained that the IOA decided to seize 150 dunums of land in the village and classify them as state property as well as another 70 dunums to use them for security purposes.
Abdul-Fattah said that “the land of the village has become depleted by Israel’s settlement expansion, road barriers, the presence of a military base, and a bypass for settlers,” adding that the village is also plagued by daily attacks by Jewish settlers, who blocked the Yasuf-Nablus road a few days ago.
Meanwhile, the IOA refuses to comply with a court verdict ordering the evacuation of settlers from an illegal outpost north of the village
“An Israeli court decided to evacuate the settlement outpost north of the village, but the structures and mobile homes have not been removed, while the settlers are still carrying bulldozing activities there,” Ahmed Abiya, a local farmer, said.
“What has happened is a kind of jiggery-pokery, and the settlers are doing what they want. What the occupation authority did was a theatrical show to embellish its image,” the farmer added.

The Israeli naval forces on Saturday morning fired on a Gaza fishing boat off the shores of the Palestinian enclave, causing it to sink.
Three fishermen, who were on board, were detained during the incident, Zakariya Bakr, coordinator of fishermen committees, affirmed.
The detainee were identified as the two brothers Mahmoud and Kamel al-Naqah and Mohamed Sultan.
Over the past few years, Israeli forces have carried out dozens of attacks on Palestinian boats, arresting dozens of fishermen and confiscating several boats.
The Gaza Strip has been under an Israeli blockade since June 2007. The blockade has caused a decline in the standard of living as well as unprecedented levels of unemployment and unrelenting poverty.

Israeli soldiers abducted, on Saturday afternoon, ten Palestinians, including two journalists, during an activity in support of residents who received illegal annexation orders of their lands, in the al-Hamra area near Bani Neim town, east of the southern West Bank city of Hebron.
The activity was organized by the Popular Committee against the Annexation Wall, and Bani Neim Local Council.
The Popular Committee said the soldiers invaded the lands, and assaulted the nonviolent protesters, before abducting ten of them, including two journalists.
Eight of the abducted Palestinians have been identified as; WAFA News Agency Cameraman Mashoor Wahwah, Palestine TV correspondent Azmi Banat, the head of the Popular Committee in Southern West Bank Younis Arar, Hebron governorate representative Tha’er Hdeib, in addition to Wadea’ Hmeidat, Assad Manasra, Majdi Manasra, and an elderly man, identified as Mohammad Mahmoud Khdour.
The Israeli army declared the entire area a “closed military zone,” and forcibly removed the protesters.
It is worth mentioning that Israel is trying to confiscate 20 dunams, owned by members of D’eis Palestinian family in the al-Hamra area, in order to build a new illegal colony, especially after colonialist settlers installed, last week, a tent, a mobile home and a barn.

Israeli soldiers invaded, on Thursday at night, Khirbat Hamsa al-Foqa village, in Northern Plains of the occupied West Bank, and handed warrants to 21 families, ordering them to leave their dwellings while the army conducts live fire training.
The soldiers handed 18 orders to 21 families, instructing them all to leave their homes next Tuesday, June 26th, so that the army can conduct its live fire training, which also includes explosives.
Mo’taz Bisharat, a Palestinian official who monitors Israel’s illegal colonist activities in Tubas Governate, said the army conducted several military drills in the same area, over the last two months, repeatedly displacing the families, and placing them in danger due to explosive materials dropped during training, in addition to the excessive devastation to agricultural lands.
In January of this year, the soldiers shot a Palestinian child with a live round in the head, during “military training” near Tubas, in northeastern West Bank.
