Israeli municipal ambulances on Thursday morning demolished a Palestinian-owned house in Lod city in central Israel (the 1948 occupied lands).
According to local sources, a large number of Israeli police forces stormed and cordoned off the area where the house was located before bulldozers embarked on knocking it down.
The Israeli municipal authorities had already issued demolition orders against dozens of Palestinian homes in Lod after refusing to license them, with no regard for the local residents’ need to have new homes or rebuild dilapidated ones.
In Israel, it is not easy for the Palestinians to obtain building permits, a situation that forces them to expand or build homes and structures without permits.

The family has been repeatedly trying to obtain a permit from the City Council in occupied Jerusalem since the year 1999, but all applications were denied despite the costs of just filing the permit applications.
While Israel continues to build and expand its segregated illegal colonies, in direct violation of International Law and the Fourth Geneva Convention, the Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem, and Area C (%60) of the occupied West Bank, continue to be denied construction permits, and face the demolition of their homes and property.
Israel has also been demolishing homes that received permits from the local councils in various towns in the West Bank, under the pretext of not being permitted by the so-called “Civil Administration Office,” the administrative branch of its illegal occupation.

The Israeli authorities on Monday demolished all structures in the Palestinian Bedouin village of Araqib in the Negev desert for the 169th consecutive time, displacing its residents.
Local official Aziz Attouri said that Israeli police forces and employees from the Bedouin development authority, which is responsible for such demolitions, stormed the village and wreaked havoc on everything.
Attouri added that the demolitions took place during the absence of the local residents who were in an Israeli court, which is responsible for studying their ownership of the land where they live
Consequently, dozens of Bedouin citizens, including children, women and elderlies, have become homeless and will suffer from the harsh weather of the desert for a while before they could have new makeshift homes again.
Araqib residents live in a constant state of fear because they expect the demolition of their village at any moment after they manage to rebuild their homes again.
However, such Israeli arbitrary, criminal and inhumane policy of demolition, uprooting and displacement will only increase the residents’ resolve and adherence to their land and village even if Israel demolishes it thousands of times.
Al-Araqib is one of several Bedouin villages in the Negev desert, which are "unrecognized" by Israel.
The demolition of al-Araqib and other villages in the Negev is a systematic Israeli policy aimed at expelling the native population from the Negev and transferring them to government-zoned areas to pave the way to expand and build settlements for Jewish communities.

Soldiers also razed the flooring for a car repair shop, and in the process destroyed several vehicles that were parked in the area as well.
Basil Ideis, owner of the land on which the car shop was built, said that three months ago, the Israeli army demolished his small makeshift shop on the same land, and levelled the land near it, he added that the army had ordered him then not to re-build on his land.
Israel demolishes Palestinian homes on a regular basis, as a matter of policy, causing displacement of the native Palestinian people, a crime against humanity as stated in the Rome Statute [pdf] of the International Criminal Court.
