Palestinian In Jerusalem Demolishes His Home To Avoid High Israeli Fines
Picture
On Tuesday evening, a Palestinian man from the al-Wad Street, in the Old City of occupied East Jerusalem, started demolishing his own home to avoid the extremely high fines and fees, after an Israeli court decided to destroy his property.

Resident Nabeeh al-Basity, 53, said he demolished his own home after Israeli courts issued several demolition orders, and he managed to delay their implementation through the courts, but the legal costs became excessively high, in addition to the accumulating fines and fees.

He added that a session was held in late July 2016, and the judge ruled for the demolition of his property, in addition to threatening to impose more fines, and imprison him, should he fail to demolish his own home.

The 60 square/meter home was built in 1997, and was inhabited by Nabeeh, his wife and three children; it consisted of three rooms and bathrooms.
The Palestinian paid fines of more than 56.000 Israeli shekels, besides the thousands in legal fees.

Also on Tuesday evening, the soldiers invaded al-‘Eesawiyya town, in Jerusalem, and demolished an under-construction home belonging to Hamada Hammouda, and several walls separating his land from a land, owned by Palestinian, identified as Mahmoud Mahmoud.

In addition, the soldiers invaded Tarqoumia town, west of Hebron in the southern part of the West Bank, and delivered demolition orders against three homes.

The army said the homes, located in Wad al-Qalamoun area, are an “Area C” of the occupied West Bank, and required the approval of the military. The properties are owned by Salem Qabaja, Mazen Qabaja and Mohammad Qabaja.

On Tuesday evening, the soldiers invaded the same area, and handed a demolition order targeting the home of resident Ala Ghazi Qa’war.

Israeli bulldozers raze agricultural land in al-Khalil

Several Israeli bulldozers leveled nearly 40 dunums of Palestinian-owned land in al-Khalil and uprooted dozens of olive trees on early Wednesday morning.

The PIC reporter affirmed that a number of Israeli bulldozers were driven into Beit Wala town west of the city accompanied with large numbers of Israeli forces and started razing the agricultural lands near the Apartheid Wall.

Dozens of almond trees and some olive saplings were also uprooted in the area, while a number of water wells were destroyed.

Israeli Soldiers Uproot 40 Dunams Of Palestinian Agricultural Lands, Two Wells, In Hebron

Israeli soldiers uprooted, Wednesday, more than 40 Dunams (9.88 Acres) of Palestinian agricultural lands, and two water wells, in Beit Ola town, west of Hebron, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank.

Issa al-‘Emla, the coordinator of the Popular Committee against the Wall and Colonies in Beit Ola, said the Israeli military bulldozers uprooted more than 40 of lands, belonging to Bassam Hamdan al-‘Adam, Suleiman Mohammad al-‘Adam and Ali al-‘Adam.

The lands were planted with more than 800 olive and almond trees, while the soldiers also destroyed two wells, used for collecting rainwater close to the Annexation Wall, and that the army claimed the lands were “owned by the state.”

Al-‘Emla stated that the attack was carried out although there are a number of cases that are still under deliberation by Israeli courts, and no final ruling has been issued yet.

He added that Israel is targeting the Palestinian lands in the area in order to control them for military purposes, and for the construction and expansion of its illegal colonies.

Israel has uprooted hundreds of Dunams of Palestinian lands in the same area, over the last several years, in addition to demolishing many wells and destroying the electricity networks.

Israeli soldiers steal Palestinian bulldozer from Bethlehem
Picture
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) on Tuesday evening seized a Palestinian bulldozer in Bethlehem’s western village of Battir, in the southern occupied West Bank.

Battir Mayor, Akram Badr, said the IOF soldiers stole a bulldozer owned by the Palestinian citizen Hassan Salah while the latter was reclaiming farmlands that belong to the Alyan family in Ein Amdan area.

The Israeli occupation army has often seized agricultural equipment in the area in an attempt to crack down on Palestinian farmers.

Israeli army seizes agricultural road in Qaryut village for settlers
Picture
The Israeli occupation army's civil administration on Monday decided to annex an agricultural dirt road used by Palestinian villagers in Qaryut village, south of Nablus, for the use of Jewish settlers.

A local activist told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that the Israeli army would seize the dirt road and the land around it on the southern side of the village to build a road connecting the settlements of Eli and Shilo.

He said the Israeli road project poses a serious threat to the contiguity of the village and would force its residents to leave the area.

According to the plan, the entire southern road will be closed and turned into a road for the movement of cyclists, tourists and military vehicles.

The appropriated road is considered the only one leading to thousands of dunums of land belonging to Qaryut villagers.

Hebron; Army Kidnaps Three Palestinians In Hebron, Shuts Down A Shop That Sells Fireworks
Picture
Israeli soldiers kidnapped, overnight and on Tuesday at dawn, three Palestinians from Hebron city, in the southern part of the occupied West Bank, and Surif town, northwest of Hebron, and shut down a store that sells fireworks.

The Hebron office of the Palestinian Prisoners Society (PPS) said the soldiers invaded homes in the city, searched them causing damage, and kidnapped Ahmad Yousef Abu Sbeih in addition to Mahmoud Rajabi.

It added that the soldiers also invaded homes in Surif town, and kidnapped one Palestinian, identified as Mohammad Ibrahim al-Hoor.

Also in Surif, the soldiers invaded a store, owned by Tareq Ehdoush, after smashing its front door, and ordered the store shut for “selling fireworks that were used in attacking the army,” according to leaflets distributed by the military.

The statement claims the fireworks “are used in terrorist attacks that are harming people and property,” and that the military considers the fireworks to be illegal “and will be acting against anybody who sells them, or uses them.”

The statement added that some of the penalties for violating the military orders are fines, prosecution, and imprisonment.

E-campaign sounds alarm over Israeli terrorism in Sebastia
Picture
An electronic campaign was launched by Palestinian activists to defend the historic Sebastia town, in northern Nablus, against Israeli Judaization schemes.

The campaign, launched under the slogan “Sebastia the Sun of Civilization,” sheds light on the tragic situation endured by the Palestinian natives of Sebastia in light of the simmering Israeli terrorism.

Campaigner al-Azhari said the campaign makes part of an attempt to disclose the Israeli schemes and projected excavations in and around Sebastia’s historic sites.

“After Occupied Jerusalem and al-Khalil, Sebastia is the third Palestinian town threatened with Judaization, among several other towns and villages,” said al-Azhari.

“In case the Israeli schemes are not brought to a halt, Sebastia’s fate is not going to be so much different from that of Tel Rumeida neighborhood which was taken over by Israeli settlers in al-Khalil,” he warned.

Al-Azhari sounded the alarm over the sacrilegious rituals, wild parties, abrupt break-ins, and demolitions of civilian structures carried out by Israeli settler gangs and occupation army across Sebastia so as to force Palestinians out and fence off the archeological sites, which cover more than half of Sebastia’s overall area.

The activist added that efforts have been underway to thwart Israeli attempts to distort Sebastia’s Islamic and Christian identity by boosting local tourism and appealing to international institutions to put the village on the UNESCO's world heritage sites list.

Israeli army, settlers bar Palestinian from building rooftop in al-Khalil
Picture
A Palestinian citizen from al-Khalil city has been prevented for about three days by the Israeli army and Jewish settlers from completing the construction of a roof for his house, according to Quds Press.

Aref Jaber, whose house is located near the Ibrahimi Mosque, said that settlers from Kiryat Arba settlement attacked him along with hired builders and prevented them from finishing the concrete roof, which was in final stages.

Jaber added that Israeli soldiers protected the settlers during their assault, noting that the Israeli army ordered him to close the house and barred any Palestinian or activist from entering the area to support him.

He also said that his sons were already arrested several times on allegations of their presence on the rooftop of the house. As a result of Israeli movement restrictions, the homeowner had to use donkeys and primitive means to transport construction materials to the area.

His failure to build the roof also caused him financial losses estimated at nearly 17,000 US dollars. He will also incur other costs to remove the parts that he built.

The Palestinian Authorities in the West Bank, in turn, have not provided the house owner with any help and left him alone in the face of Kiryat Arba settlers and their army.

Israeli Soldiers Kidnap Two Siblings In Hebron, Renew Order Keeping Family Home Closed
Picture
Israeli soldiers invaded, on Sunday at dawn, the southern West Bank city of Hebron, kidnapped two siblings and renewed a military order closing their family home, in the southern area of the city.

The WAFA Palestinian News Agency has reported that the soldiers kidnapped Emad Aref Jaber, and his brother Anas, and renewed a military order to keep the home closed.

The Jaber family home was declared shut under direct military orders when the Israeli army invaded it, and ordered the family to stop construction work in the property, after Israeli colonists complained against them.

The soldiers assaulted the two siblings, and fired many concussion grenades at many Palestinians who gathered in the area.

The Israeli army informed the family that their property is located in a “closed military zone,” therefore they cannot build, or expand.

The family is building a second floor, but the settlers, illegally living in  the area, filed a complaint to the military.

Last Friday, the army ordered the family to stop the construction work.

In related news, the soldiers invaded the Shiokh and Sa’ir towns, before invading the home of Fadi al-Froukh, 27, who was killed by the army in early November of last year. The soldiers searched the property and illegally confiscated the family vehicle.

In addition, the army installed many roads in the Hebron district, especially on Be’er as-Sabe’ Street, Haggai Junction, al-Fawwar Junction and the main entrance of the ath-Thaheriyya town, before stopping and searching dozens of cars, and interrogated many Palestinians while inspecting their ID cards.

Israeli army confiscates farmer's tractor in Jordan Valley
Picture
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) last night confiscated an agricultural tractor belonging to a farmer from Umm al-Jimal hamlet in the Jordan Valley, particularly east of Tubas city.

Local sources told the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) that Israeli soldiers stormed the house of Adel Awad in the Bedouin community of Umm al-Jimal and seized his tractor, which he uses for agricultural purposes.

During the raid on his house, Awad was handed a summons from the Shin Bet, and his tractor was taken to a nearby military base. The Israeli army had already confiscated the same tractor last year and forced its owner to pay a large financial penalty.

In another development on Saturday morning, Israeli municipal employees escorted by policemen delivered administrative demolition orders against Palestinian homes and stores in al-Bustan neighborhood of Silwan district, south of the Aqsa Mosque.

The municipal crew also photographed those homes and stores, which are threatened with demolition at the pretext of unlicensed construction.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Jerusalem said that this measure became a weekly routine in the context of an Israeli plan to raze the neighborhood in order to build Talmudic parks and projects.

IOF stops construction of Palestinian-owned home in al-Khalil
Picture
The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) prevented Friday a Palestinian citizen from completing the construction of his home in the Old Town of al-Khalil to the south of the West Bank.

"Israeli forces violently stormed the area and attacked my family without any reason," Aref Jaber, the home’s owner, said.

"They forced us to leave amid heavy firing of teargas bombs," he added. During the raid, an Israeli officer informed Jaber that his house is located near a closed military zone.

Jaber launched a cry for help especially in light of his very difficult living conditions as his family became homeless.

Meanwhile, Israeli municipal crews in occupied Jerusalem stormed Bassatin neighborhood in Silwan town to the south of al-Aqsa Mosque and filmed all local houses and commercial shops before handing over demolition orders against a number of them.

The demolition notifications were issued under the pretext that the Palestinian facilities were built without permit, a local activist said.

Israeli authorities have previously threatened to demolish the whole neighborhood in 2004 as a prelude to establish a Talmudic garden for Israeli settlers. The neighborhood which includes more than 100 homes inhabited by 1,600 people is subjected to weekly provocative raids.
