Israeli Settlers Level Lands West of Salfit
Picture
Under guard of Israeli soldiers, colonizers from the illegal settlement of Netafim leveled private Palestinian lands near the central West Bank village of Qarawat Bani Hassan, according to witnesses.

The settlers intend to expand Netafim, which was founded in 1986 on Palestinian land, from the villages of Qarawat Bani Hassan and Deir Istiya, in the Salfit district, local researcher Khaled Maali told Ma'an News Agency.

Over 500,000 Israeli settlers now live in the occupied West Bank and East Jerusalem, in contravention of international law.

Israel to raze homes of Palestinians involved in attacks on Israelis
Picture
The Israeli government decided Thursday to demolish the homes of Palestinians who attacked Israelis in occupied Jerusalem.

Israeli channel 2 said that Israeli prime minister Benyamin Netanyahu decided during an urgent session held Thursday to demolish homes of those who carried out attacks against Israelis.

The decision excludes the homes of settlers who kidnapped and burned 16-year-old Mohamed Abu Khudair in occupied Jerusalem, the sources added.

During the meeting, Netanyahu called to implement more severe measures against the Jerusalemite protesters and Palestinians living inside the Green Line.

The punitive measures include increasing use of administrative detention and issuing additional restraining orders.

In another context, Israeli forces were deployed in large numbers in occupied Jerusalem and established a number of checkpoints in its neighborhoods after imposing tight restrictions on Muslims’ access to the Aqsa Mosque.

The Israeli police in the holy city claimed their measures are aimed at preventing the outbreak of violent clashes after the Friday prayers.

Army To demolish Several Stores Near Bethlehem
Picture
Several Israeli military vehicles, and personnel of the Civil Administration Office, run by the Israeli military in the occupied West Bank, invaded on Friday evening the village of Husan, west of Bethlehem, and handed demolition orders against seven stores.

Taha Hamamra, member of the Popular Committee against the Wall and Settlements in Husan, told the Palestinian News & Info Agency (WAFA), that the soldiers handed the orders to the owners of the seven stores, located at the western entrance of Husan.

The stores are close to a settlement bypass road, leading to the Beitar Illit illegal settlement, built on Palestinian lands.

They belong to residents Ibrahim Ali Awad Hamamra, and Mohammad Mustafa Sabateen.

Israel recently demolished several stores in the same area, illegally confiscated Palestinian agricultural lands, and prevented the villagers from entering their lands and orchards, especially those isolated and surrounded by the settlement, and near it.

20 Structures Demolished in Jordan Valley
Picture
The Israeli army demolished 20 tent homes and animal pens in the Jordan Valley village of Bardala, Wednesday afternoon. Fifty people were rendered homeless, over half of whom are children.

Ahmad Jaradat | Alternative Information Center

The tent homes and animal pens, owned by the Daraghma and Sawafta families were demolished in furtherance of Israel's goal to deport the Bedouin-Palestinian communities living in the Jordan Valley in order to further develop the area settlements.

While demolishing the structures, bulldozers also damaged nearby agricultural fields, destroying crops of vegetables on which local families were reliant for sustenance.

Bardala village, located in the northern Jordan Valley, is home to over 1,800 Bedouin-Palestinians.

And as part of its aforementioned policy to forcibly displace Palestinian communities, the Israeli army also demolished Monday three homes in the northern West Bank village of Khirbet al Tawel.

Located to the south of Nablus, Khirbet al Tawel has lost most of its land to the nearby settlements and has been demolished eight times previously.

Israeli forces demolish Palestinian homes in Silwan
Picture
Israeli forces raided the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Silwan early Tuesday and demolished two two-story buildings, residents told Ma'an.

One building belonged to former Palestinian prisoner Khalil Abu Rajab, who told Ma'an Israeli troops and intelligence officers escorted bulldozers to the Wadi Yasoul area and proceeded to knock down the walls of the building without allowing the family to remove property.

Abu Rajab's family lived on the first floor of the building; the second floor was still being furnished. Construction on the building had only been completed five months before.

He said the demolition came without any prior notice, and that his lawyer had been trying to obtain the proper license for the building, but had not yet been successful.

Another building destroyed Tuesday belonged to Isam Ishaq Abu Sbeih, who told Ma'an he had moved into the ground floor of the house only a week ago.

Israeli forces demolished the home under the pretext that Abu Sbeih lacked the proper construction permits from the Jerusalem municipality.

The house measured 155 square meters, and Israeli forces demolished it without prior notice, he said.

Abu Sbeih used to live on the fifth floor of a residential building, but decided to build a new house where he could live on the ground floor given that one of his children is physically disabled.

Also Tuesday, Israeli municipality workers forced the family of Muhammad Jaabis, who was shot dead in August by an Israeli security guard in West Jerusalem, to demolish two animal barns they owned in the Jabal al-Mukabbir neighborhood, locals said.
Tensions have boiled in the Silwan neighborhood in recent weeks. Ten apartments were taken over by Jewish settlers in the neighborhood in the middle of the night on Oct. 20. Three weeks before, Israeli settlers took over 25 apartments in the area after secretly purchasing them.

The takeovers have been condemned by the international community, including the US.

Additionally, a Palestinian resident of the neighborhood, Muataz Hijazi, was killed Wednesday by Israeli forces who said they suspected him in the shooting of right-wing Jewish activist Yehuda Glick hours earlier.

Israel rarely grants construction permits to Palestinians in the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, and regularly demolishes structures built without permits.

Israeli bulldozers have demolished at least 359 Palestinian structures in the West Bank so far in 2014, according to the Israeli Committee Against House Demolitions.

During the 1967 war, Israel captured East Jerusalem from Jordan, occupied it, and later annexed it in a move never recognized abroad.

Army Demolishes Four Homes In Silwan, In Occupied Jerusalem

Israeli soldiers invaded the town of Silwan, south of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in occupied East Jerusalem, and demolished four Palestinian homes.

The Wadi Hilweh Information Center in Silwan has reported that the soldiers invaded Wad Yasoul neighborhood in Silwan, and demolished two homes belonging to former political prisoner Khalil Abu Rajab, and Issam Abu Sbeih.

It added that the soldiers, accompanied by bulldozers and personnel of the City Council, invaded the neighborhood nearly at 6 in the morning, and surrounded Wad Yasoul neighborhood before invading the home of Abu Rajab and forcing the family out, and demolished their home.

Abu Rajab’s home is a two-story building that was constructed nearly five months ago; he lived in the first floor with his eight-member family, including his mother, while his brother Ahmad was preparing to move into the second floor.

Abu Rajab said the soldiers invaded his property and forced the family out without even allowing them to remove their furniture and property.

In addition, resident Issam Abu Sbeih said he built his home a few months ago to live with his five family members, including his physically challenged child.

He moved into the first floor of the building last week, and was still constructing the second floor.

The soldiers also demolished two more homes belonging to members of Abu Sbeih and Borqan families, in the same neighborhood, while at least 36 Palestinians have been rendered homeless.

The families said the destruction comes as part of Israel's collective punishment measures meant to stop the ongoing protests to Israeli violations and attacks, including unreasonable fines imposed on home and store owners, in addition to the extremely high taxes imposed on them.

Also in Jerusalem, the army released Sahar Natsha, after holding and interrogating her at a police station in the city.

The police agreed to release her under the condition that she will not be allowed into the Al-Aqsa Mosque for two months.

Natsha was kidnapped on Monday morning when Israeli MK, Shuli Mualem-Rafaeli, of the “Jewish Home” carried out a provocative visit to the mosque compound.

IOF razes three historic buildings in Attawil hamlet, south of Nablus
Picture
The Israeli occupation forces (IOF) demolished on Monday morning three antique buildings dating to over 100 years ago in Attawil hamlet, south of Nablus city.

Palestinian activist in settlement affairs Hamza Diriya told the Palestinian information center (PIC) that a large number of Israeli troops aboard armored vehicles stormed Attawil hamlet at six o'clock in the morning and declared it a closed military area.

Diriya added that the invading troops used two big bulldozers to tear down the buildings where 20 Palestinian citizens were living.

Local sources said that the IOF knocked down the residential buildings with no prior notification or due process, noting that the buildings belong to Osama Bani Fadel and Baha Bani Fadel.

This was the eighth demolition of structures in this hamlet after the IOF had removed last August two historic houses without any legal procedures.

A senior Israeli army officer had already threatened during one of the demolitions that he would wipe the hamlet off the face of the earth without legal permission.

80 Palestinian citizens live in Attawil hamlet, which is administratively part of Aqraba village.

It is worth mentioning that the army kidnapped more than 630 Palestinians in occupied Jerusalem in four months, and filed charges against nearly 30% of them, while many have been released and confined under house arrest.

Jerusalem has been witnessing daily clashes between the soldiers and Palestinian youths, especially amidst ongoing and escalating invasions carried out by Israeli extremists into the yards of the al-Aqsa Mosque.

In Jenin, several military vehicles invaded the al-Jalama nearby town, on Monday at dawn, and kidnapped a Palestinian woman identified as Yasmeen Abdul-Rahman Sha’ban, 31. Sha’ban is a mother of four children.

In addition, several military vehicles invaded Khirbet at-Tawil village, south of the northern West Bank city of Nablus, and demolished three homes, built by the Palestinians more than a 100 years ago.

A new price tag attack in occupied J’lem
Picture
Israeli extremist settlers sprayed racist slogans reading ‘Death to Arabs’ on the walls of a school in occupied Jerusalem, Israeli TV Channel 2 said.

Israel’s Channel 2 reported that ‘Death to Arabs’ slogan was found written on a school’s walls in occupied Jerusalem Thursday in what is suspected to be a price tag attack.

Along the same line, Israeli forces accompanied with Israeli bulldozers and a group of settlers razed agricultural lands belonging to Palestinian farmers in Salfit.

Local sources said that a group of settlers from Leshem settlement bulldozed a Palestinian agricultural land west of Salfit.

For his part, the expert in settlements affairs Khaled Maali said that Israeli bulldozers razed an agricultural land near the archaeological site Der Simon in the city.

The excavations pose a real danger to the archaeological site which was built most likely about 400 AD, he pointed out.

Israeli bulldozers continued at daily basis to raze Palestinian agricultural lands in Palestinian towns as a prelude to confiscate more lands for settlement expansion.

IOA orders demolition of Palestinian house, stops construction of another in Khader town
Picture
The Israeli occupation authority (IOA) on Wednesday notified two Palestinian citizens from Al-Khader town, south of Bethlehem, of its decision to demolish one house and freeze the construction of another at the pretext of unlicensed construction.

Palestinian activist in settlement affairs Ahmed Salah told the Palestinian information center (PIC) that Israeli employees from the civil administration of Gush Etzion settlement escorted by soldiers stormed Umm Rukba area, south of the town, and handed Khaled Salah a notification about their intention to demolish his house.

Another Palestinian citizen called Mohamed Mousa was also handed a notification ordering him to freeze construction works in his new house in the area, Salah added.

Hebron Bedouin Structures Demolished
Picture
Israeli forces demolished a total of four structures in the Bedouin village of Umm al-Daraj, and, in addition to a traditional oven in Umm al-Khair, reported Operation Dove on Wednesday.

Many women and men of Umm al-Khair were reportedly assaulted by Israeli soldiers and border police while they tried to peacefully stop the demolition of their property.

Early Wednesday morning, Israeli military forces broke into Umm al-Daraj with two bulldozers. A toilet, a shelter for the sheep, a cave used as home and a tinplated house which housed eight people were destroyed.

Two hours later, Israeli forces arrived at Umm al-Khair village and declared it a closed military area for internationals and Israeli civilians, according to WAFA's report. They pushed away the international volunteers who arrived to monitor any human rights violations, threatening them with arrest.

Accompanied by Israeli army and border police, a bulldozer broke into the village, damaging a fence and an olive tree, activists reported.

Umm al-Khair residents gathered in front of their traditional oven and tried to peacefully prevent the demolition, but Israeli soldiers and police attacked them, violently pushing away the women and shoving down a boy. The oven was later reported destroyed without any demolition order.

On October 28, with the inhabitants of Umm al-Khair, the oven was rebuilt by the South Hebron Hills Popular Committee and for the second time, by Palestinians before noon.

Umm al-Khair is a Bedouin locale in Area C, under Israeli civil and military administration. It is located near the Israeli settlement of ‘Karmel’, WAFA reports. The settlement was illegally established during the beginning of the 1980s and expanded in the recent years, most significantly in 2013.

A total of 508 Palestinian Bedouins are said to live in Umm al-Khair. The area and its residents are regularly targeted by Israeli soldiers in order to take over the land and displace its people.

Furthermore, the people of Umm al-Khair routinely experience harassment from Israeli settlers and army, the latest of which on October 28, when an Israeli army force and staff from the Israeli Civil Administration, accompanied by heavy machinery, broke into the village and demolished seven homes.

Palestinians from the South Hebron Hills use non-violent resistance to seek justice and defend human rights.
